Factors affecting staff turnover in plastic surgery facilities
SPÁLENKA, Luboš
This bachelor thesis focuses on the factors that influence employee turnover in plastic surgery facilities. The bachelor thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part is divided into several subchapters. Plastic surgery is often a for-profit business, so subchapter 2.1 deals with what this business is and its importance for the economy. Legal entities may have employees and are therefore affected by the employee life cycle (subchapter 2.3) and employee turnover (subchapter 2.4), but then there are also legal entities that do not have employees and therefore outsource (subchapter 2.2). Finally, there is a subchapter on plastic surgery, which deals with the definition of plastic surgery, its history and interventions. The practical section is divided into two parts. The first part contains an evaluation of a questionnaire survey that was conducted with facilities that perform plastic surgery. The questionnaire was received by all facilities that are listed in the National Register of Health Service Providers and have indicated that they perform plastic surgery. The second part of the practical section contains specific suggestions for improving the working environment for staff in facilities performing plastic surgery. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyse and define the factors that influence staff turnover in facilities performing plastic surgery and to propose measures to improve the current situation.
Clinical Anatomy of the Arteries of the Trumb and the First Web Space
Miletín, Jakub ; Kachlík, David (advisor) ; Stingl, Josef (referee) ; Měšťák, Ondřej (referee)
The thumb is absolutely essential for the flawless function of the hand, and the loss of the structure or function of the thumb almost always means a partial or total invalidation of the patient. Thus, salvage and reconstruction of the thumb is one of the foremost topics in hand surgery. Modern conservation and reconstructive procedures of hand surgery require a completely new insight into the knowledge of vascular anatomy. In order for the information to be comprehensible and well communicated, it is necessary to have a sufficiently detailed, clear and, above all, uniform nomenclature. When taking a closer look at the anatomy of the vessels of the hand, it turns out that authors often do not use generally accepted terms or do not agree on the interpretation of the correctly used ones. The above stated facts led us to the conclusion that, although the anatomy of the hand arteries seems to have been well studied and described in the past, there is still considerable room for sorting out the previously described data, revising the nomenclature, completing the missing detailed description of some anatomical variations and assessing the significance and usefulness of individual structures in relation to trauma and reconstructive hand surgery. This work describes in detail the systemic and topographical...
Kinesiolgy analysis of function selected muscles of upper limb after brest augmentation
Víšková, Anna ; Kračmar, Bronislav (advisor) ; Véle, František (referee)
Title: Kinesiologic analysis of function of selected upper limb muscles after female breast augmentation Objectives: The aim of this research is to analyze the functionality and scope of involvement of the injured muscles due to plastic surgical augmentation procedure at pre-selected physical activities before and after surgery a few months later (specifically, three months - the time the patient left the recovery) using a noninvasive surface electromyography (EMG). Methods: A Case Study measuring method of noninvasive surface electromyography in combination with the method of temporal phase shifts involved in the activation of muscle movement, accompanied by a support method of integrated EMG. Results: There differences have been observed in the timing of individual muscles measured during performing selected testing exercises before and after completion of the augmentation plastic surgery operatios. Furthermore, the possibility of the loss of muscle strength has been detected by some measured muscles and this has the potential to take over functions of damaged muscles. Key words: plastic surgery, female breast augmentation, surface electromyography, upper limb muscles, musculus pectoralis major

Social conditions under which cosmetic surgery are carried out in such quantity and popularity are defined and explored. Paper also contains a summary of patients' opinions about cosmetic surgery and explains the way they think of the role of beauty in their lives. The attention is focused on motives by which are patients of cosmetic surgery led to undergone such intervetion to human body as the cosmetic surgery. Paper aims to propose a rational explanation of what leads them to a cosmetic surgery even though there is a high risk of health damage and an unclear result. The first part deals with the new economy, consumerism and celebrity culture as the main factors, claimed by the literature, that influence decisions about undergoing cosmetic surgery. Normative function of beauty in modern everyday life is also scrutinized. The second part consists of the results of qualitative research, which is based on an analysis of interviews with patients who underwent cosmetic surgery in order to increase their attractiveness. Nursing proces of patient after reconstructive breast surgery with method of free TRAM flap
Kneiflová, Jana ; Hakenová, Renata (advisor) ; Kulhavá, Miluše (referee)
(Aj) The topic of presented diploma thesis is nursing care of patients undergoing breast reconstruction surgery using TRAM (Transverse Rectus Abdominis Musculocutaneous) flap. The thesis is divided into theoretical and empirical part. Theoretical part deals with history of plastic surgery, breast anatomy, and physiology. In her thesis author focuses on breast cancer, its increasing incidence shifting to the younger and younger age groups, surgical therapy by total mastectomy as part of multidisciplinary treatment, postmastectomy reconstructive procedures using TRAM flap, and possible intraoperative, and postoperative complications. In empirical part author published case report of a patient after total mastectomy followed by TRAM flap breast reconstruction and dealt with nursing care during the immediate postoperative period in the intensive care unit and latter on in plastic surgery department's postoperative ward. The aim of author's thesis is to point out specific issues pertinent to nursing care both in the intensive care unit and standard postoperative ward in patients undergoing above mentioned surgical procedure as well as to highlight the need for more intensive supervision during postoperative period in such a cases compared to classic breast reconstruction with silicon implant. "We are in Korea, everybody is ready to change": Ethnography of Plastic Surgery in the Republic of Korea
Mudruňková, Kateřina ; Stöckelová, Tereza (advisor) ; Klepal, Jaroslav (referee)
The purpose of this thesis is to identify practices that constitute plastic surgery in current Republic of Korea with emphasis put on relationships between participating human beings, materials and technologies. It focuses on practices proceeding inside and outside the clinic of plastic surgery. In accordance with M. Lock's concept of local biology this thesis introduces Korean plastic surgery as a set of practices shaped by mutual interaction of local technologies and Korean bodies. The actor network theory approach (ANT), which emphasizes relational open-ended forming of entities, is applied to examining various aspects of plastic surgery. This approach also provides new ways of exploring how the entities and practices described in the medical anthropology as medicalization, medical tourism or local biology are produced. Key words plastic surgery; Republic of Korea; Actor - Network Theory (ANT); bodily practices; local biology; beauty ideal; medicalization.
After Care post Breast Augmenteition
Gandiová, Petra ; Hošťálková, Monika (advisor) ; Pírková, Vendula (referee)
The bachelor's thesis is focused on the nursing care of the women after a breast augmentation with silicon implants, which is the most required procedure in the aesthetic plastic surgery. In the last decades the plastic and aesthetic surgery comes to the forefront, various operational techniques are being developed. After this surgery the nursing care is very important for the good healing process and a successful result of the intervention. The theoretical part of the thesis describes not only the plastic surgery and breast augmentation in general, but also its historical development worldwide and in the Czech Republic. The anatomy and evolution of breasts is mentioned too, and a small part of silicon implants. In the theoretical part it is described everything from the preoperative preparation, postoperative care to the education of the patients in separate chapters. In the empirical part there is a quantitative investigation in form of a self-structured survey. The aim was to find out the reason for the decision to undergo an augmentation, to ascertain what the decisive factor for the respondents is when they choose the health institute and the operating surgeon and the last aim was to find out what information the patients have about the augmentation and its dangers. Based on the detected...
