Design of a transformer station for power output from a PV power plant and a diesel generator
Marák, Jiří ; Procházka, Aleš (referee) ; Orságová, Jaroslava (advisor)
This thesis is about design of a transformation station for power output from both a photovoltaic power plant and a diesel generator, serving as grid support. The primary objective is to devise a comprehensive solution including conceptualization, grid connection point, and transformer specifications capable of handling the 5 MW power output from the PV plant and the 1000 kW output from the diesel generator, including the calculation of short-circuit conditions. Furthermore, the thesis delves into the design of network breakpoints and protective measures.Lastly, it proposes dispatch control and billing metering in accordance with the operational requirements stipulated by the distribution system operator.
Efficient use of renewable energy sources in a residential building
Burčo, Matúš ; Paluřík, Pavel (referee) ; Jablončík, Lukáš (advisor)
The thesis focuses on the design and implementation of an optimization algorithm for an energy management system in apartment buildings. The thesis analyzes current technological solutions for smart home energy management, including open-source and commercial systems. It further considers the use of containerization technologies for the implementation of the algorithm in practice. The second chapter focuses on renewable energy sources such as solar, wind and hydro power and discusses methods for their efficient integration into energy systems. The third chapter describes specific system elements, such as photovoltaic panels and battery storage, in the context of a residential building. The fourth chapter describes the development of the optimization algorithm, its testing and integration with data collection and visualization platforms. The aim of the thesis is to show how the system can be used to make efficient use of the available energy resources and thus reduce the energy costs of the building.
Photovoltaic system in cooperation with a charging station for electric vehicles
Zerzán, Jan ; Morávek, Jan (referee) ; Mastný, Petr (advisor)
The thesis deals with the design of photovoltaic power plant with accumulation and charging station for an electric car for a family house located in the Pardubice region. First, the individual parts of photovoltaic system are theoretically described and then the requiments for connection to distribution system are described. At the end of the theoretical part, the subsidy program is described. The practical part consists of the design of the photovoltaic system and subsequently it’s project documentation. Another topic in the thesis is the simulation and control of the energy flows of the designed PV plant with batteries and EV charger in Matlab. Towards the end of the thesis an economic balance sheet is created.
Design of system wiring and energy management for a family house with PV
Honkyš, Jan ; Morávek, Jan (referee) ; Bátora, Branislav (advisor)
This work deals with the design of system wiring and energy management for a family house with a photovoltaic power plant. The current state of the house's electrical installation does not meet current standards. The theoretical introduction of the work deals with the description of system electrical installation and building management systems. Another part of the work deals with the design of photovoltaic power plant on the roof of the house. The design was economically evaluated, including subsidy programs. Home control system has been designed to effectively manage the home's operations and minimize operating costs. Energy management was designed, which will effectively use the produced photovoltaic power. Project documentation was prepared, which will be used for future implementation.
Design of autonomous robot for cleaning solar panels
Kuchárik, Martin ; John, David (referee) ; Křenek, Ladislav (advisor)
The main objective of the diploma thesis is the design of the concept of an autonomous robot intended for the cleaning of photovoltaic panels in solar parks. The proposal aims to respond to current market events, which demonstrate that the global shift to renewable sources of energy goes in line with the exponential growth of photovoltaic construction. Solar panels require regular maintenance, and that is what cleaning robots are used for, yet they currently have a variable form. The diploma thesis focuses on creating a concept of an innovative versatile self-driving cleaning vehicle powered by sustainable energy sources. The proposal introduced within this diploma thesis takes ecological aspects into consideration with the emphasis on aesthetics, purposefulness and intuitive usage.
Design of ventilation and cooling in a new-build terraced house
Petráš, Jan ; Charvát, Pavel (referee) ; Pech, Ondřej (advisor)
The master thesis deals with the design of a terraced new building, in particular forced ven-tilation and cooling with partial independence on electricity from external distributors. The thesis consists of two parts, theoretical and practical, which together contain 10 chapters on these topics. The thesis includes not only the design of ventilation and cooling, but also an energy-ethical simulation of the performance of both proposed systems, including the pro-duction of electricity. In the last chapter, attention is paid to the implementation and operat-ing costs of all the designed systems.
Project documentation of photovoltaic power plant category B1
Rehák, Jan ; Mastný, Petr (referee) ; Morávek, Jan (advisor)
This thesis focuses on project documentation for a photovoltaic power plant. Requirements for parallel connection of power plants with installed power from 100 kW to 1 MW to the distribution grid are studied. Next, research has been conducted on individual components and options for local and dispatch control of photovoltaic power plants. The practical part of the thesis focuses on the creation of project documentation for an embedded photovoltaic power plant located in the buildings of FEKT Brno University of Technology. The final part of the thesis includes an economic evaluation of the project.
Energy supply of the complex Technicka 2
Buráň, Petr ; Lisý, Martin (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
The theme of this master thesis is „Energy supply to the site Technická 2“. This thesis is divided into several parts. First we will get in touch with concept of combined heat and power and also with principle of photovoltaic electricity production. We will continue with description of site before and after reconstruction. Then we will follow with analyze the effect of reconstruction on energy consumption. In the end we will make some suggestions for using the local source of heat and electricity in Faculty of mechanical engineering, Brno university of technology. All suggestions will be analyzed from energy and economic point of view.
Weak Points Analysis of Distribution Network in Municipality with High Numbers of Photovoltaic Sources
Sedlák, Petr ; Lunga, Jiří (referee) ; Paar, Martin (advisor)
The master‘s thesis deals with the issue of weak points of the distribution network in a municipality with high numbers of photovoltaic sources. Photovoltaic power plants are gradually being added to the current state of the electric power distribution network of a specific municipality, while changes in the network are being monitored. Due to the output of the highest possible power from the sources into the distribution system in compliance with the established rules, the thesis also describes network modifications. These established rules of connection and operation of resources in the distribution network and effects of injecting disturbances in the low voltage network are discussed in the theoretical part of the thesis.
Proposal for house backup energy source
Ličman, Petr ; Morávek, Jan (referee) ; Baxant, Petr (advisor)
This master's thesis deals with a design of backup power system, which will be using renewable energy sources, particularly solar energy. The first part describes the potential of solar power plant in the Czech Republic. The next parts describe types of photovoltaic systems, their components, design of photovoltaic systems and possibilities of controlling power consumption. Due to the fluctuating supply from renewable energy sources the thesis also deals with possibilities of predicting of the production electricity from these sources. In the practical part the design of backup power system for the house is done, which will also be working in summer as an optimizer for own consumption. A financial evaluation was done for this proposal.
