The thesis is dispensed into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is firstly concerning the implementation of the topic into Czech national educational curriculum secondly demographic and mainly historical characteristic of the region. The historical part is focusing on Odolena Voda town and Panenske Brezany village. My greatest attention is dedicated to cultural monuments, which are going to be presented to students. The General education system in former Karlín distrikt in the end of 19th century and in the first half of 20th century (its structure and documents)

This diploma thesis examines school documents in the former Karlín district, from the second half of the 19th century to the year 1927 for example: general schools in Brandýs nad Labem, Stará Boleslav, Klecany, Odolena Voda, Panenské Břežany and Veliká Ves. This thesis is divided in two parts, the first part focuses on the history of education from Marie Terezie's school reforms to the first Czechoslovak Republic along with school administration in the same period, mainly it focuses on the lower grades of school education systems. Then I describe the former Karlín district, especially individual towns and villages, whose documents I describe later and I write about short history of their schools. In the main part of this thesis I compare selected school documents - namely class statements, class registers, class statements of school leavers, main registers, conferences protocols and school chronicles of individual schools and I examinate their development. The Upholstery Firm Emil Gerstel Prague and Collaboration with Architects

The purpose of this thesis is to gather information on the furniture firm Emil Gerstel Prague in connection with collaborations with architects as interior designers. Emil Gerstel was in charge of the firm Before the First World War, in that period furniture influenced by Viennese geometric secession and by historicist tendencies was produced. A collaboration with the architect Joseph Maria Olbrich in that time is also mentioned. The firm was purveyor to the Viennese court. Around 1930 under the direction of Bedřich Gerstel was the firm on its peak. This period comprises the works on furnishing of the interior of the Otto Petschek 's villa in the Neo-rococo style, the collaboration with Adolf Loos and Heinrich Kulka on furnishing of the villa Müller and on furnishing of the family Semler 's apartment in Plzeň. Vladimír Grégr was the author of the Václav Maria Havel's apartment, his designs were influenced by organic functionalism. Most of the Gerstel's customers came from wealthy families, their property was after the Second Wold War nationalized. This thesis deals with the circumstances of the buildings , their restoring or the plans for a future renovation. The second part describes the independent production of the firm.
