Ideal cycles of combustion engines
Kertész, Tibor ; Kloss, Ondřej (referee) ; Kaplan, Zdeněk (advisor)
The main subject of this bachelor´s thesis is to summarize basic theoretical knowledge of ideal thermodynamic cycles and to develop their mathematical models in Matlab to calculate and draw diagrams of each cycle. Based on the calculated values, it was possible to compare the cycles with each other.
Alternative conceptions of combustion engines
Šťáva, Martin ; Fojtášek, Jan (referee) ; Zháňal, Lubor (advisor)
The subject of this bachelor´s thesis on the topic Alternative conception of combustion engines is description of chosen historical and present alternatives to conventional piston combustion engine with crankshaft. The aim of this thesis is to create thesis that relates description of historical evolution of alternative construction combustion engines. Alternatives are described in terms of construction, operating principle and properties. In past were developed plenty of different conceptions of combustion engines. However most of them have never been successful because of many technical problems, complicated construction or other shortages.
Influence of gas properties on the IC engine cycle
Ptáček, Martin ; Klimeš, Lubomír (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
Properties of gases forming during combustion process in combustion engine influences the engine efficiency and fuel consumption. Harmful substances are formed during combustion, which could be reduced by combustion optimization. The thesis studies the change of gas properties inside combustion engine during temperature changes. The aim of this thesis is description and creation of models describing thermodynamic cycle of spark ignition engine. The First part of thesis explains basic ideal gas properties and principle of spark ignition engines. Second part deals with description of combustion process and substances, which enters and leaves the process. Created theoretical models are compared to each other during conclusion. Achieved results and created models can be used as foundation for creation of complex programs.
Powertrain of experimental single-cylinder spark ignition engine
Číp, Tomáš ; Rauscher, Jaroslav (referee) ; Píštěk, Václav (advisor)
Objective of bachelor’s thesis is, for noted geometric, thermodynamic and operation parameters cylindrical unit of experimental single-cylinder spark ignition engine, perform calculation of thermodynamic cycle, project basic proportion of piston group and for noted operation modes perform strength check of connecting-rod eye. In preamble is stated basic use of spark -ignition engines, their operation principle and basic fisson. The bachelor’s thesis is consists from of calculation, which is continuously described. The calculation is consists from four parts. The first part is calculation of thermodynamic cycle, in the second part are calculated concept piston group, in next part are calculated forces reacting to piston group and fourth part is strength calculation and check of connecting-rod eye. In the last part is results evaluation of calculation.
Thermodynamics of ideal cycles of IC engines in Matlab
Pavlíček, David ; Mauder, Tomáš (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
Key aspect of this thesis is toolbox, which contains functions for calculate ideal combustion engine cycles. Thesis is divided into four parts. In the first part is briefly described history. The first chapter contains description of real combustion engine types. In the second part, which is covered by the second chapter, is located thermodynamic view. Third part is whole about MATLAB. From historical introduction through description of individual functions to example how toolbox can be used. In the last part is comparison of real combustion engine cycle with ideal one, which has been created by toolbox.
