Possibilities of using elements of music therapy methods in music education at the 2nd grade of elementary schools

The Bachelor's thesis deals with the elements of music therapy in music lessons in the second grade of primary school. Proposed activities are intended for use in music lessons. The main aim of the thesis is to create several activities with elements of music therapy, which could be fully used during music lessons in the second grade of primary school. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the history of music therapy, current trends in music therapy, the definition of music therapy, and a view of music therapy in comparison with pedagogy, musical means of music therapy, and its forms, methods, and types. The practical part of the thesis presents the proposed activities, that could be implemented in music lessons. The Bachelor's thesis points out the possible inclusion of music therapeutic activities in the regular lessons of music teaching, which could be a means to improve the class atmosphere, students relaxed, and music education.

Orff-Schulwerk Approach to Folk Songs for Elementary School Education

Diploma thesis Orff-Schulwerk Approach to Folk Songs for Elementary School Education consists of two parts: theory and practice. The first theoretical describes the basic Orff-Schulwerk thesis for education at the elementary schools in the lessons of Music or in the preparatory units of children choirs. Author introduces Carl Orff biography, circumstances of Orff-Schulwerk creation and its characteristics which is compared to the psychological theories, mainly with the flow phenomenon. The thesis covers the implementation of the Orff-Schulwerk approach to the Czech Framework Education Programme. Author compares studies describing the results of Orff-Schulwerk method in comparison to other methods. The research has not confirmed the thesis, that Orff-Schulwerk has better results in the music education field. The abroad studies confirmed, that Orff-Shulwerk approach is suitable for working with children with special educational needs. On the basis of the sources and literature, the author assumes that Orff-Schulwerk can lead to more intense interest in music and culture itself. Furthermore, the author enriches Orff's approach by ideas and approaches of two known pedagogues and composers: Zontán Kodály and Émile Jaques-Dalcroze. Development of elementary musical skills for pre-school children with the help of the soprano flute playing

The work is focused on children in pre-school age and on development of their musicality through game in the nursery school team. This age group is also briefly described from the physical, mental and emotional point of view. Almost all its chapters include practical exercises at first breathing exercises, then the movement ones with including practising fine motor skills and at the end there are games with fipple flute. These are preceded by a short description of development of this musical instrument starting from its origin up to this day and justification of its use in nursery schools as a possibility to increase the group of Orff musical instruments. This work also introduces some eminent Czech musical teachers (prof. Václav Žilka, prof. PhDr. Eva Jenčková, CSc., Petr Eben, Kvapils, PaeDr. Alena Tichá PhD., Mgr. Zdeněk Šimanovský) and their methodology, that includes besides other things suitable games for the age of 3 - 6. These have also been an inspiration for creating some of our own plays with flute.

The use of melodic instruments in musical activities of preschool children.

The theme of the thesis is the musicality of preschool age children and their ability to work with even more difficult melodic instruments. The theoretical part is focused on defining the concept of musicality, musical development of children from birth to 6 years, musical creativity and the influence of music on the successful entry into primary school. Another integral part of the theory is a division of Carl Orff instrumentation, its correct name and methodology games. The aim of the practical part is an exhibition of the use of melodic instruments by preschool children to particular songs and its integration into the thematic musical locomotor performance. The survey was conducted qualitatively by a method of an involved and unstructured observation, supplemented by photographs and video footage. I have evaluated the use of melodic instruments as achievable and appropriate provided by an informed leadership.

Musicotherapy in work with children

The presented Master thesis examines the topic of Music therapy and its use in an after-school childcare. The first part of the thesis defines the music therapy, explores its history, evolution and describes its current form. It illustrates the impact of music on a person and the effects of music therapy. It provides an introduction to existing forms of music therapy, methods and techniques used in a school environment. It also delineates music therapeutic approaches leading to improvement of attention, elimination of insecurity, reinforcement of confidence, advancement of pupils' communication and can alleviate problems associated with specific learning disorders. The second part of the thesis explores the uses of music therapy in a practical setting. It describes experience with the use of music therapeutic methods in an after-school childcare setting and lists methods and forms of work utilized in individual music therapeutic lessons. It indicates, how to influence children's behavior and actions with the purposeful use of music and principles of music therapy. Results of the research and the methodology of musicotherapeutic lessons, which is a part the presented thesis, could be possibly used in planning afternoon activities in an after-school childcare
