Polish foreign policy towards Ukraine between the Orange Revolution and the Euromaidan: political rhetoric

The following dissertation looked at the problem of Polish foreign policy towards Ukraine between the Orange Revolution and the Euromaidan crisis, as it was expressed in the political rhetoric. Importantly the work drew on the tradition of the Polish émigré journal Kultura and the rich historical background of the Polish-Ukrainian relations. This was done in order to prove the hypothesis that although the recent strategy towards Ukraine borrows from the historical concepts, it does so incoherently. In essence, Polish authorities today prefer to design their own strategy, while references to the Kultura review serve as a bridge to keep a consistent image about Polish Eastern Policy. What has been also discussed was the division between the so-called romantic and pragmatic approach towards Polish Eastern Policy. The dissertation demonstrates that in general the labels are used rather mechanically. As such, it is often difficult to draw the line between romantics and pragmatics among Polish political class. The research was conducted with the use of qualitative content analysis methodology and supported by the constructivist theory. Ukrainian Presidential Election 2004, 2010 and Electoral Geography

This work aims to describe tendencies in development of Ukraine's electoral geography and characterize Ukrainian voters' behaviour during 2004-2010, with focus on presidential elections 2010. Electorate in Ukraine is regionally divided and this division proved its stability in time, which can be observed in Ukrainian elections since gaining independence. Orange revolution only deepened the division and made regionalism more evident. Presidential elections 2010, first presidential elections after Orange revolution, followed the structure of divided country between west and east and "their" candidates as well. Support of "Orange camp" is decreasing, Viktor Yanukovych, looser from 2004 and antihero came back. The paper provides the reader with explanation of these processes and factors that lead to Mr. Yanukovych's victory. The Bachelor thesis named The Development of Ukrainian Economy after the Orange Revolution is dedicated to the development of Ukrainian economy after the so called Orange Revolution in Ukraine. The aim of the Bachelor thesis is the comparison of different developments of it's economical indicators before and after presidential election in 2004 and their impact on strengthening of the pro-European orientation of Ukraine. The last chapter is concerned with the process of Ukrainian accession to the Word trade organization.
