Bacelor thesis analysis medial reflection of Václav Havel in czech press in the time of "November 1989". Analysis is focus on changes in presentation of disident and "persona non grata" on medial scene, that changed in very short time to public leader and then president od Czechoslovakia. Thesis first introduces czechoslovak press in specific time of social change, and then analysis, how this change influenced presentation of Václav Havel. For analysis vere chosen influential czech daily papers, that covered whole spectra of opinions on Václav Havel. Medial contents were primarily analysis qualitatively, separated on timelines, to recognition developing tendencies. Then contens of these media was compared in quantitative study, that has analyses differences in relationships to Václav Havel in dependence on events of "November 1989". Thesis acknowlidges same known facts about medial presentation on Václav Havel, but in other parts it openes a new themes and questions, that has not been so much explored to this times. For example ambivalent relationship of daily paper Mladá fronta.

The media image of the Velvet Revolution in terms of conspiracy theories

The topic of this diploma thesis is the media image of the Velvet Revolution related to various conspiracy theories. This view can be traced in Czechoslovak (and later Czech periodicals) on the basis of predetermined storylines. The specified period for the analysis of individual elements of these theories is from November 17, 1989 to about mid-1993, or earlier if the periodical ceased to be published. The period of the Velvet Revolution is a fundamental period of our republic, which at this time underwent an economic, political, social transformation… And few aspects of everyday life remained the same as before the revolution. Because this change took place so suddenly and so quickly, a lot of rumors, misinformation, and conspiracy theories began to spread to explain to some extent what had happened, especially if they did not like the officially recognized version of events. It is these alternative explanations of the events of that time that are the subject of this work. I will analyze them in a total of 7 titles, in Rudé právo, Lidové noviny, Studentské listy, Respekt, Květy, Špígl and Analýza 17 listopadu by Miroslav Dolejší. Kopřivnice in the process of political changes in 1989/1990

This thesis entitled‚ Kopřivnice in the process of political changes in 1989/1990' consists of a description and analysis of events connected to the disintegration of the post-totalitarian authoritarian regime in Czechoslovakia and deals with the transition to democracy of the medium-sized North Moravian town, Kopřivnice. My aim is to record not only the course of political changes, but also social and economic development after 17 November 1989. In terms of time, the thesis covers the period from 1986 to the municipal election in November 1990. The first chapter describes the oral history method, its position in the modern science and in the practical part of this thesis. The second chapter deals with the characteristics of the post-totalitarian authoritarian regime in Czechoslovakia before 1989 and the pre-existing conditions for the subsequent changes which took place in Czechoslovakia and Czech society. The third chapter analyses the field of the Velvet Revolution in revolution theory terms. It examines, if it is possible to consider the change as a revolution, and it studies the events in November 1989 from the point of view of the theory of transition. The Velvet revolution in Nachod. Its "winners" and "losers"

This thesis deals with the problem of the Velvet revolution in a small provincial town called Náchod. My purpose is to describe the political situation before the revolution, during it and after the revolution ended. I used two methods for my research. First of them was regular text analysis of documents in archives and the second source I used was the method of Oral history. Oral history enriches us with knowledge of living witnesses who help us understand reasons, motivations and feelings of people who took part in an important part of our history, which Velvet revolution surely is. To understand them even better I shortly described their life stories and their position during the revolution. I made life story interviews with 4 members of the Czechoslovak Communist Party and with 5 members of the Civic Forum. So we can hear opinions of both considered sides. At the end of the thesis I compared my conclusions with the conclusion doc. PhDr. Lukáš Valeš, Ph.D. made in his dissertation describing Velvet revolution in a small provincial town Klatovy. At the end I came to a conclusion that Velvet revolution changed political status of Czechoslovakia and its economy but the same people remained powerful.

Diploma thesis The collapse of the Civic Forum in the context of a new party system deals with the political movement Civic Forum, which was established after November 1989. Describes how the Civic Forum was what led to this event. Then there is the outlined operation of this movement and its influence on the development of the Czech party system. In other parts of the thesis describes the functioning of the successor party Civic Forum Civic Democratic Party, Civic Movement, and Civic Democratic Alliance. An important factor is also a breakup of the Czechoslovak federation.
