Reconstruction of undetachable LORD MR damper
Lochman, Vít ; Macháček, Ondřej (referee) ; Mazůrek, Ivan (advisor)
The bachelor´s thesis deals with the design and the realization of the modification of the non-demountable magnetorheological damper LORD, which has gained an atypical Fv characteristic in the course of time. The first part of the thesis deals with the operation of the magnetorheological liquid and the various design variants of the magnetorheological dampers. The practical part is devoted to the reverse engineering and the design of the damper modification itself. The complete drawing documentation of the original and the modified damper is included in this work.
Preparation of magnetorheological fluids with high sedimentation stability
Oharek, Lukáš ; Kalina, Michal (referee) ; Smilek, Jiří (advisor)
The introduced bachelor thesis focuses on the current issue of stability of magnetorheological fluids in the gravitation field. To prepare stable magnetorheological fluid, influence of additives, particles modification and different carrier fluid are investigated. Regarding the increased viscosity of the carrier fluids, which negatively affect the magnetorheological effect, a magnetorheological fluid containing carbonyl iron particles, which were chemisorbed with non-ionic surfactant Tween 20 was prepared. Mineral oil and water emulsions were used as a carrier fluid, emulsifier Span 80 was used to stabilize the water-in-oil emulsion. Sedimentation stability is improved, at the same time the viscosity of the carrier fluid is increased.
Slit flow rheometer for magnetic and non-magnetic fluids
Železník, Tomáš ; Vimmr, Jan (referee) ; Roupec, Jakub (advisor)
In this thesis was designed, manufactured and tested the fourth evolution of a slit-flow rheometer with another necessary parts, eg. rheometer`s holder, drive frame and important jig tools. The rheometer is able to measure rheological properties of magnetic and non-magnetic fluids at very high shear rates, which commercial rheometers can not reach. It is designed for 200 bar pressure and maximum load 15 kN. The construction of the slit-flow rheometer with it`s holder and drive frame improves user friendliness, accelerates change of the fluid sample and expands research opportunities thanks to a big space for additional adjustments. It is possible to use different length of the slit and thanks to a changeable inserts it is possible to change parameters of the slit (roughness of the walls, wall material, thickness of the slit). A part of this thesis was focused on illation of necessary equations for planning calibration measurements. Aim of these measurements is to obtain minor pressure losses dependence on Reynolds number for specific slit.
Optimization of the existing construction of magnetorheological clutch
Bedřich, Miroslav ; Růžička, Bronislav (referee) ; Roupec, Jakub (advisor)
This work deals with the reconstruction of magnetorheological (MR) clutch. The extensive research on the use of magnetorheological technology in practice was developed in the first part. The function of MR dampers, MR brakes and MR clutches were described. Some parameters of MR clutches were listed and compared. The second part concentrates on construction modifications to improve some parameters of MR clutch. The experiments verifying improvement of operating parameters of MR clutch were carried out in the third part.
Sedimentation of MR fluid at the start of new space lanucher
Berka, Pavel ; Strecker, Zbyněk (referee) ; Roupec, Jakub (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with sedimentation behavior of magnetorheological fluid exposed to acceleration 1-6 G. That simulates start of a space launcher. Main goal of this work is to bring new knowledge of MR fluids behavior. Experiment of accelera-ted sedimentation as well as the long term sedimentation is presented, including new method and measuring device developed to measure the sedimentation, in order to compare different commercial MR fluids. Results from this work will be used in development of the new semiactive dum-ping system for carrying load in ESA new space launcher.
Hydrodynamic dampers on the principle of magnetic fluid
Přikryl, Matěj ; Himr, Daniel (referee) ; Pochylý, František (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with damping vibrations emerging due to the movement of a vehicle. The first section provides an overview of contemporary types of dampers with thorough explanation of the principle of hydrodynamic damper. This section also contains simulation of vibrating vehicle equipped with passive damper. Literature research of magnetic fluids and description of magnetoviscous phenomenon is presented in the second part, which freely continues to the topic of magnetorheological (MR) dampers. The final chapter firstly describes current hydrodynamic dampers based on squeeze film (SF) mode of magnetorheological fluid and at the conclusion the author's concept of SF MR damper is submitted.
The study of the MR fluid for space applications
Macejka, Andrej ; Macháček, Ondřej (referee) ; Kubík, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is concerned with study of off-state rheological properties of magnetorhelogical (MR) fluid. The purpose of this thesis is to define measurement metodology and evaluation inherent rhelogical properties of MR fluids in wide temperature range.
Design of Testing Bench for Determination of the Operating Parameters of the Magnetic Shaft Sealing
Kubík, Michal ; Čížek, Petr (referee) ; Roupec, Jakub (advisor)
This thesis deals with design of testing stand for operating parameters magnetic seal. In this thesis was done analysis of construction magnetic circuit and analysis of operating parameters. This work contains FEM analysis of magnetic circuit and experimental tune up. The results of this analysis will be used for design magnetic circuit and geometric sensitivity analysis in test stand.
The study of MR fluids sedimentation
Berka, Pavel ; Vimmr, Jan (referee) ; Roupec, Jakub (advisor)
This diploma thesis investigates the accelerated sedimentation of the magnetorheological fuids (MRFs) using centrifuge. Experiments are carried out at room temperature as well as at higher temperatures (40°C, 60°C and 80°C). The development of the new improved measuring device for the sedimentation evaulation is described. Magnetic components of the device were designed using FEM analysis. Newly designed device is verified. To accomplish the experiments at the high temperatures the new heated chamber for experimental centrifuge is designed and constructed. In the next part of the work full experiment of the accelerated sedimentation is performed. At final the empirical model of the sedimetation velocity for various accelerations and temperatures is synthesized.
Design of Low-Pressure Piston Rheometer
Lán, Radek ; Strecker, Zbyněk (referee) ; Roupec, Jakub (advisor)
This thesis is focused in design of Low-Pressure Piston Rheometer intended for experimental identifying of magneto-rheologic (MR) liquid properties at long-term load. MR liquid is briefly introduced in the initial part of the thesis. There follows a search related to way of liquids properties measurement and overview of MR dampers which are close to piston rheometers by their construction. MR dampers with through piston-rod have been emphasised. The second part of the thesis is focused on calculation of magnetic circuit of the rheometer throttle leak. The rheometer is designed in the last part of the thesis.
