Accuracy of Real Time Kinematic Method in Building of Geodetic Control
Nosek, Jakub ; Kuruc, Michal (referee) ; Bárta, Ladislav (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis was to evaluate the accuracy of the RTK method in the creation of point fields. The RTK-measurement was carried out near the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Technical University in Brno, and near Jedovnice, by using the CZEPOS network and the Trimble VRS Now Czech network. These two locations have made it possible to assess the effect of receivers distance to the reference stations on measurement accuracy. At each point, two continuous coordinate records were executed by the RTK method after 10 seconds during 10 minutes. The graphs were compared to the coordinate differences of the pairs of independent measurements. The results of the RTK method were tested against the reference values determined by the common equalization of the measurement results of the fast static method and the terrestrial measurements by the total station using the LSM. The bachelor thesis also includes a comparison of the results of the transfer of spatial coordinates ETRF2000 to S-JTSK using precise global transformation performed by several transformation programs.
Deformation Measurement of Roof Structure
Hubáček, David ; Švábenský, Otakar (referee) ; Bureš, Jiří (advisor)
The thesis deals with the evaluation of displacements and deformation of the large span wooden roof structure of the aquapark hall in Brno - Kohoutovice. The task of this work is to compare and verify the applicability of the laser scanning method for the evaluation of displacements and deformation. The comparison was performed with regard to the polar method with quantities measured by the total station. As part of the work, two-stage measurements were performed on the basis of which a comparison of both methods was performed. The data obtained by the polar method were processed using LSM, the data from laser scanning were processed in an Excel spreadsheet. A comparison of the two methods shows that we have achieved a similar level of accuracy with the laser scanning method when compared to the polar method. It is therefore possible to use the laser scanning method to measure displacements and deformation.
Effective Integration of Employers in Intercultural Company
Macek, Jiří ; Kubátová, Zuzana (referee) ; Rašticová, Martina (advisor)
This diploma thesis is dealing with integration of employees in multicultural environment. It defines terms related to the subject: culture, company culture, working group, intercultural communication and intercultural integration. It contains analysis of real multicultural environment, represented by one team of IBM office in Brno. In the end, this thesis offers some improvements for better efficiency of intercultural integration in this team.
Optimal methods for sparse data exchange in sensor networks
Valová, Alena ; Poměnková, Jitka (referee) ; Rajmic, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis is focused on object tracking by a decentralized sensor network using fusion center-based and consensus-based distributed particle filters. The model includes clutter as well as missed detections of the object. The approach uses sparsity of global likelihood function, which, by means of appropriate sparse approximation and the suitable dictionaty selection can significantly reduce communication requirements in the decentralized sensor network. The master's thesis contains a design of exchange methods of sparse data in the sensor network and a comparison of the proposed methods in terms of accuracy and energy requirements.

Strategy Specifics of Multinational Companies Operating in Creative Industries
Shevchenko, Denys ; Pichanič, Mikuláš (advisor)
The creative industry is a relatively new sector of the economy that grows rapidly and possesses huge potential. Multinational corporations have achieved a certain stage of development being highly globalized, vertically integrated and efficient. However, the problem of defining appropriate strategies and adjusting management approaches to industry's specifics arises. Therefore, the goal of this Diploma thesis is to analyze cultural industry market and to explain differences in business strategy between classical and cultural companies. In this academic work, the great part of attention will be devoted to a number of peculiarities. Among them firstly, the way of managing creative labor force that significantly differs from other industries. Secondly, risk management and level of intellectual property rights protection may either incentivize or discourage further development of creative products. The last but not the least, brand awareness exerts a significant impact on company's performance, therefore, analysis on this issue will be provided.
Modely dynamické podmíněné korelace a jejich aplikace při mitigaci rizika portfolia
Ševčík, Martin ; Frýd, Lukáš (advisor) ; Nevrla, Matěj (referee)
This bachelor thesis investigates asymmetry in returns of corn, gold and crude oil (both spot and futures) and hedging effectiveness of these commodities when employing DCC family models for hedge ratio estimation. The asymmetry in conditional variances was found to be significant only in case of crude oil spot and futures returns and asymmetry in conditional correlation of spot and futures returns was not shown to be significant in neither of the investigated commodities. With respect to the hedging performance, we conclude that differences in hedging performance measured by hedging effectiveness index are negligible and thus do not support superiority of DCC family models over OLS, which served as a benchmark. Historical Value at Risk, on the contrary, identified the DCC with asymmetry in conditional variance (despite asymmetry not being significant) to be appropriate for corn hedging, however not for the other two commodities, where the OLS based hedge ratio performed similarly or even better than the DCC family models. The main contribution of the thesis thus lays in empirical investigation of asymmetry in returns of selected commodities and testing hedging potential of DCC family based hedge ratio.
Managing a Firm in a Global Environment
Staňková, Lenka ; Pichanič, Mikuláš (advisor) ; Marek, Petr (referee)
This master thesis focuses on the process of globalization and its consequences that allowed for the formation of multinational corporations. The current environment is characterized by the fast pace of changes that requires firms react flexibly, which demands new approaches to managing employees, creating more flexible organizational structures supporting creative people, and innovation because people and innovations are the key sources of competitive advantages. The goal of this thesis is to analyze changes at O2 after Spanish telecommunications firm Telefónica S.A. sold a majority stake to PPF in 2013. The changes associated with the switch in ownership can chiefly be seen in the firm's goals, its organizational structure, its policy toward employees, in customer satisfaction, and in its investments and share price.
