Model Based Design of the Conference System
Caha, Matěj ; Janoušek, Vladimír (referee) ; Kočí, Radek (advisor)
This thesis deals with the topic of  model-based design and application of simulation in system design. In the introduction, the thesis discusses the history of software development process and outlines the current status. The aim is to demonstrate a model-driven design on a case study of conference system. There will be presented formalisms of DEVS and OOPN  together with experimental tools PNtalk and SmallDEVS that allow to work with these formalisms. The resulting model of conference system will be deployed as part of a web application using a framework Seaside in the Squeak environment.
Bankruptcy prediction modelling in the environment of V4 countries
Suchánek, Aleš ; Režňáková, Mária (referee) ; Karas, Michal (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focused on the construction of a new bankruptcy model designed for small and medium-sized enterprises in the construction industry in the environment of the Visegrad Four countries. The first part of the thesis is focused on defining the concepts of bankruptcy, bankruptcy model and their placement in the historical context, followed by a description of selected bankruptcy models, a brief description of the construction industry and an analysis of constuction sector. In the practical part, the reliability of selected bankruptcy models is tested and then a new bankruptcy model is constructed.
T-Mobile MDA II in Linux
Michl, Zbyněk ; Michal, Bohumil (referee) ; Kašpárek, Tomáš (advisor)
MSc. thesis deals with mobile digital assistant T-Mobile MDA II running Linux operating system. The first part presents device identification and parameters' specification of the MDA II. The second part focuses on selection of GNU distribution with Linux bootloader and Linux kernel support comparison. The subject of the last part is MDA II component code implementation and its merging into Linux kernel.
Design and Analysis of Reservation Teaching System
Jiříček, Milan ; Lukáš, Roman (referee) ; Fiala, Jiří (advisor)
In this bachelor's thesis there is a detailed description of an information systems analysis and design. An attention paid to implementation of such system is also specified in further details. Techniques of procedure designing of these systems using UML are described on a specific case of reservation teaching system. This information system works with specific events, either a regular class or a one-time event. Particular users of this system are able to carry out actions, which are linked with event management as well as with subjects or classrooms.

XML Formats Evolution and Integration
Klímek, Jakub ; Nečaský, Martin (advisor) ; Klettke, Meike (referee) ; Svátek, Vojtěch (referee)
In the past decade XML became a wide-spread information exchange data model. Many XML users have many XML formats described by XML schemas. To ease the management of multiple XML schemas modeling similar reality, the conceptual model for XML was defined. With its definition came various challenges that needed to be further researched. This thesis focuses on two of those challenges. The first challenge is to manage the evolution of the multi-level conceptual model as the modeled reality, XML schemas and applications evolve in time. The second challenge is to allow the majority of users who already use XML schemas in their system without the conceptual model to use their schemas to semi-automatically create one. In addition a step towards integration of the conceptual modeling of XML and semantic web techniques was taken.
Conceptual Design of Web Forms
Kasarda, Ján
As complexity of web applications and software grows, benefits of applying modeling techniques for the development of such applications are increasing as well. In this work, we focus on modeling web forms which are an important part of current web applications. A short motivation example will demonstrate benefits of modeling web forms at the conceptual level. We will then summarize existing approaches to conceptual modeling based on UML and Model-Driven Architecture (MDA). We will present XForms. Finally, we will discuss how to model web forms at the conceptual level and how to translate conceptual schemas of web forms to XForms representation. Our approach is based on MDA principles. Firstly, a problem domain is modeled at the conceptual level. Secondly, each form representing a part of the domain is modeled independently of its representation in XForms. The last step is generating XForms representations of the modeled forms.
Evolution and Adaptability of Complex Applications
Polák, Marek ; Holubová, Irena (advisor) ; Rahayu, Wenny (referee) ; Krátký, Michal (referee)
Evolution and Adaptability of Complex Applications Abstract In these days the applications become more complex that causes maintenance problems while evolving these applications. A change in one part of the applica- tion can significantly affect other parts of the application. The next aspect can be related systems which communicate with this application. They must be up- dated to satisfy their correct functionality. These problems can concern multiple domains, e.g., UML diagrams, XML schema diagrams, relational schemas, APIs, etc. We focus on this problem from the perspective of the MDA, which uses the platform independent model (PIM) for a general view of the problem and the platform specific model (PSM) for particular domains. Moreover, these models can be interconnected and related to each other. We propose novel PSM models from various widely used domains, operations over these models and algorithms for model transformations. Thanks to the MDA principle, it is possible to combine presented models and model a complex application. All models and related algorithms we present were experimentally implemented and tested in the DaemonX framework on real-world data for their verification. 1
