Vančová, Eliška ; Landová, Tabita (advisor) ; Vaňáč, Martin (referee)
As part of the efforts to protect minorities, the issue of the social status of intimate relationship between two people of the same sex has come to the fore in recent years. This thesis called Attitudes towards same-sex couples in the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren examines how the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren (hereafter ECCB) has approached the issue. In order to gain a deeper understanding of the current starting point, the first part of the thesis discusses views on homosexuality and same-sex relationships throughout history. Then it focuses more closely on developments in the Czech environment, as well as on Christian, and specifically protestant, approaches. The second part of the thesis is devoted to the ECCB documents and debates on the topic. It concentrates on attitudes towards homosexuality and same-sex relationships and, in relation to the issue of same-sex marriage, on the ECCB's approach to marriage. Based on ECCB agendas, it traces the Church's basis for a liturgy of blessing same-sex couples. The third and final part of the paper presents the practice of blessing same-sex couples in ECCB based on research. The research consists of two parts. The first is a questionnaire survey examining how widespread blessing same-sex couples is in the Church and what factors play a role. The...

Bryns, Tereza ; Viktorová, Ida (referee)
The rigorous thesis deals with the topic of supportingLGBTQ students. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the topic of identityin adolescence and the specific challenges faced by LGBTQ adolescents in this period. It also introduces research that deals with LGBTQ topics and the experiences of LGBTQ adolescents in the school environment and the different forms of support that schools can provide to LGBTQ students, includingthe presence of supportive adults. School counselors can play an important role as "advocates" for LGBTQ students. However, there is very little researchthat deals with this specific topic. The research in this work is dedicatedto mapping the situationregarding the cooperation of LGBTQ students and school counseling centres. The researchquestions focus on what experiences school counselors have with LGBTQ issues and students, how they perceive their role in supporting these students, and where they see room for change in this area. The answers to these questions are also analyzed from the point of view of the LGBTQ students themselves - what are their experiences in the school environment and with the school counseling centres and their suggestions for change - and thus brings an interestingcomparison. The research in this thesis is qualitative, data collectionfrom both...

SKALÁK, Pavel
The diploma thesis focuses on selected specific issues that LGBTQ people (lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transsexuals, and other queer people) face due to their different non- heteronormative sexual and gender identities. Attention is paid specifically to issues of discrimination, stereotyping, partnership (marriage vs. registered partnership), parenthood, attributed promiscuity, and HIV / AIDS. The author focuses on fiction series broadcast between 2000 and 2021, which deals with queer topis and includes LGBTQ characters in the main or supporting roles, focusing on ways of depicting these characters and reflecting on selected issues they experience due to their identity. In foreign series such as Glee, Modern Family, Orange Is the New Black, Pose, Tales of the City, Sex Education, The Politician, It's a Sin and in the Czech series Ulice and MOST! the ways in which the series presents LGBTQ characters are analysed, in what discourse they are talked about and what effect these depictions may have on the majority heterosexual cisgender viewer. The thesis also provides an overview of the most common narrative archetypes of LGBTQ characters appearing in media production. These are also supplemented by examples of characters from the series of the last 20 years. Through a critical analysis of selected series and their reception, the author tries to point out the importance of portraying people with different sexual and gender identities and the influence of this television representation on the formation of opinions and attitudes towards LGBTQ people.

Marková, Tereza ; Smetáčková, Irena (advisor) ; Machovcová, Kateřina (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the topic of supporting LGBTQ students. It describes the experiences of LGBTQ adolescents in the school environment and the different forms of support that can be provided to them in this environment. The work focuses mainly on the support of LGBTQ students from the school counseling centres and the role of school counselors and school psychologists as advocates for LGBTQ students. The research in this work is dedicated to mapping out the experiences and comparing the views of school counselors and school psychologists and LGBTQ students on LGBTQ topics in Czech education and the role of the school counseling centres in supporting LGBTQ students. The research in this thesis is qualitative and works with two research sets. Individual interviews and focus groups were used for data collection, thematic analysis was chosen for subsequent data analysis. The results of the research draw attention to the absence of LGBTQ topics in Czech education and the insufficient support of LGBTQ students by adults in education. In their practice, school counselors and school psychologists have started to work with LGBTQ students, and especially transgender and non-binary ones, only in the last few years, which is an incentive for some to start educating themselves in LGBTQ topics and to...
Politicizing Sexualities: Mobilization practices and networking within the LGBTQ movement in contemporary Madrid
Wiesnerová, Vendula ; Ezzeddine, Petra (advisor) ; Kolářová, Kateřina (referee)
This ethnographic study intends to explain the recent mobilization practices within the LGBTQ movement in contemporary Madrid in reference to the strategic use of identity and networking in collective action. It describes the Spanish movement as an ideologically polarized heterogeneous aggregate. The active challenging groups criticize the dominant part of the movement for giving up its original message of sexual liberation and diluting it in consumerism by supporting capitalist tendencies and the power of leading political parties. Via launching protest campaigns and collaborating in internationally supported networks with other ideologically related social movement communities, the challenging groups demand civil rights for all people, regardless of their sexual orientation or identity. They mobilize upon the collective identity of "precariousness" while integrating elements of queer and transgender theory into their radical leftist oriented politics in order to transform the Spanish society. By bringing on new critical ideas and adherents, the success of the leftist oriented challenging groups has an impact on the direction of the politics of the dominant group, which thereby is forced to adopt such ideas into their politics. Despite the disunity and antagonistic character of the movement, the...
