Disc brake design and construction for the Simson S51 motorcycle
Povýšil, Jan ; Sliwková, Petra (referee) ; Dvořák, Jaromír (advisor)
The work is focused on the design, production, and tests of a disc brake for the Simson S51 motorcycle, whose original brake system is quite problematic, has low efficiency, and is already obsolete from today's point of view. In the beginning, the work deals with the issue of motorcycle brake systems and compares individual solutions. The design is processed in CAD software Autodesk Inventor Professional 2023, including drawing documentation, and mechanical calculations of the design are mainly performed in the ANSYS 2022R2 application. The work briefly summarizes the production process used to produce the given prototype. A comparison is made with commercially available solutions and a price calculation for production is made. Finally, tests of the functionality of the physically produced prototype and a comparison with the original braking system are performed.
New trends and material usage in bicycle frame design
Jelínek, Vladimír ; Němec, Karel (referee) ; Juliš, Martin (advisor)
Thesis in its first part summarizes the evolution of the bicycle from the draisine to the low wheels with a focus on the material of the frame of the bicycle. Also discussed in this section is an overview of small structural modifications, which were gradually used on a bike, like Bowden brake or the first type of transmission system. In the second part, the thesis describes the operating principles and types of suspension forks and disc brakes. Mentioned are materials that are currently used for bike frames with a focus on the advantages and disadvantages of each material used and its future anticipated use.
Axles of modern trucks
Vávra, Radek ; Vopařil, Jan (referee) ; Kučera, Pavel (advisor)
The main objective of this work is to present trends of modern axle trucks. There are presented the latest famous brands axle trucks. For each type has its axle design, driving properties and applicability. Furthermore, this paper describes the basic principles and structure axle’s differentials, brakes, gearboxes and wheels in the wheels.
Study of transverse velocity field in the vicinity of rotating wheel with assumption of forced convection of disc brake
Regner, Dominik ; Polanský, Jiří (referee) ; Štefan, David (advisor)
The master thesis deals with the influence of a local change of temperature due to advection from disc brake to axial velocity field close to the rotating wheel of a car. The second goal is to set parameters applicable to various wheel discs and study of the influence of these parameters to aerodynamical properties of car and thermodynamical properties of the disc brake. The thesis is numerically executed in StarCCM+. The first part focuses on theoretical background about the numerical solution and current status of research. There are described disc parameters, geometry input and solver settings in the second part. The final part deals with a comparison of velocity fields for isothermal and thermodynamical model and evaluates the influence of parameters to velocity field, aerodynamical drag and thermodynamical performance of the brake.
Thermomechanical Analysis of Braking Disc
Bačovský, Marek ; Zubík, Martin (referee) ; Novotný, Pavel (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is the analysis of three types commonly used automotive brake discs in terms of their thermal and mechanical resistance on a defined braking maneuver. Another objective is to make an evaluate of the different structural solutions and compare them by each other.
Optimization analysis of brake wheel
Hrabovský, Jozef ; Vlach, Radek (referee) ; Houfek, Lubomír (advisor)
Subject of this diploma thesis is break wheel optimalization analysis. Break wheels are used in mountain bike downhill races in extreme conditions. It is the first product of this type of an emergent company that was made by the use of intuitive approach. The reason for optimalization is improper behavior of existing solution that occurred during testing. This optimalization consists of finding and analyzing existing characteristics, deciding which factors influence this improper behavior, suggesting new solution and verification of this solution. Break wheel characteristics were detected in an experiment. For realization and evaluation of this experiment, a method named Design of experiments, was selected. This method is used for elaboration of results coming from the Regression analysis. It is possible to effectively achieve the result data by using this procedure. The experiment was oriented to gain data of temperature behavior of break wheel during real load. Mathematical model was adapted on the basis of this data and finally, the calculation was made by the use of Final element method by ANSYS WORKBENCH. Calculations were also coordinated through Design of calculation, and were oriented on temperature deformation and stress. Solution achieved by the Final element method, was evaluated by the Regression analysis and served as a proposition for a new break wheel construction.
Tractors brake systems
Pazour, Martin ; Prokop, Aleš (referee) ; Ambróz, Richard (advisor)
This Batchelor’s thesis deals with an overview of the contemporary brake system of tractors. Principles and constructions of brake systems will be described in this thetis. Then the braking dynamics will be analyzed and convenient brake system for tractor up to 90kW will be projected.
Parkovací brzdy vozidel
Straka, Vojtěch
This work provides an overview of parking brakes, especially for passenger cars. In the introduction, the division of vehicle braking systems is explained with a particular focus on the functions of operational, deceleration, emergency, and parking brakes. Subsequently, specific designs of individual brakes are analyzed, with the greatest emphasis on parking brakes. In the following part of the work, various structural designs of electronic parking brakes are described. The work includes a summary of recommended procedures for operating both mechanical and electronic handbrakes. The final chapter deals with electromechanical emergency brakes. This chapter compares vehicles of different brands based on their behavior during emergency braking, using conducted tests.
