: Viscoelasticity of bones - the methodology of measurement
Cihlář, Zdeněk ; Ďoubal, Stanislav (advisor) ; Kuchařová, Monika (referee)
Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of biophysics and physical chemistry Candidate: Mgr. Zdeněk Cihlář Supervisor: Prof. RNDr. Ing. Stanislav Ďoubal, CSc. Title of Thesis: Viscoelasticity of bones - the methodology of measurement The aim of the thesis was to verify the methodology of measuring the viscoelastic parameters of human bones using an apparatus enabling the measurement of dynamic characteristics. The method is based on measurement of deformation response of samples to short or rectangular impulse of force. The samples were obtained from femoral head. The methodology is therefore based on measuring of creep curves and impulse characteristics. Resulting damped oscillations were analysed. The transient and impulse characteristics in bending stress and twisting stress were obtained. Based on these characteristics, viscoelastic parameters of samples were determined (Young modulus, shear modulus and viscosity). The Poisson's number, indicating the ratio of transverse contraction to longitudinal extension of the material during deformation, was calculated using the values of Young's modulus and shear modulus. The measured values of the Young's modulus in bending stress vary in the range from 62MPa to 670MPa. The values of the shear stress modulus range...
Use of trace elements and Pb isotopes for bioarchaeological research of selected burial grounds
Bartoš, Jan ; Mihaljevič, Martin (advisor) ; Strnad, Ladislav (referee)
SUMMARY: Aim of this thesis is to provide, by using trace elements analysis and Pb isotopes analysis of archaeological findings from Roman era and following migration period, informations about basic bioarchaeological parameters of sites Abrahám, Rusovce II and Sládkovičovo (territory of present Slovakia) and Sopianae site (area of present Pécs city in Hugary). Analyses were performed on samples of 81 bones and 21 dental enamels. For purposes of this work most important concentrations are of Ca, P, Sr, Zn, Ba, Fe, Al, Mn and Pb (and its isotopes). They were consequently used for calculating Ca/P ratio in order to assess extent of after-burial diagenetic changes. For this purpose Al and Fe concentrations were taken into account too. Sr/Ca and Sr/Zn ratios were compared to assess prevailing type of diet. The Ba/Ca and Sr/Ca ratios were compared in order to asess supposable mobility of some individuals. By using of Pb concentrations and its isotopes contamination by this metal was assessed. During interpretations of individual conclusions useability of samples outgoing from assessment of extent of diagenetic alterations were always taken into account. Little changes in chemical composition of samples arise in case of Sopianae site, samples from other sites are greatly preserved. Using of paleodietary...

Sodomová, Federica ; Bunc, Václav (advisor) ; Kaplan, Aleš (referee)
Title: Movement preparatory of preschool children Objectives: The main goal of this work is the physical activity of preschool children and the acquisition of basic movement skills based on movement experience. Partial goals are analyzing the determinants of movement, defining principles of movement within programs, organizing a space for intervention, and developing a program where consistent practice occurs, movement deficits in pre-school children can be improved. Methods: Based on a literature research, an intervention is proposed to reduce the movement deficit in preschool children. The search was divided into two parts. First part consists of analysis of the determinants of motion. Second part of the work is a synthesis of acquired knowledge. Based on my own judgment and practice in the field, keywords were chosen (movement, development, development, preschooler, child, motor skills, fitness, health, lifestyle, abilities, skills, bones, joints, CNS). The keywords were then used to search for relevant studies in the PubMed research database. The strategy of growing pearls and trimming served to narrow down the selection of studies found. Keywords: development, preschooler, motor skills, literacy, fitness, health, healthy lifestyle, abilities, skills, bones, joints, CNS Results: The results of...
Využití Dornovy metody při poruchách pohybového aparátu psů
Brandejská, Kateřina
In my Bachelor Thesis I deal with the anatomy and physiology of the dog support apparatus and describe Dorn's method as one of the possible therapies that can help in removing the mechanical causes that lead to certain diseases of the locomotor apparatus. In the first part I deal with anatomy and physiology of bones, muscles and fascia. Next, I present the Dorn´s method and what it serves more precisely. Diseases are an integral part of the therapist's knowledge, so I devote a great deal of work to them and analyze the possibilities of treating individual illnesses. Beginners and recommended therapists must be familiar with contraindications in which the Dorn´s method can not be performed. In the next chapter I deal with cupping because it is one of the parts of the Dorn´s method in the case of dropped vertebral joints. In conclusion, we mention dog sports, dog handling, veterinary treatments, breeding dogs and more.
