Circumstances and Demandingness of Traveling in the Time of Jesus: An Analysis of Three Jesus' Journeys

This thesis deals to analyze the three well-known Jesus Christ's routes which are mentioned in the Gospels of the New Testament. The first part of the thesis there is a historical description of the person of Jesus Christ and his humanity. The second part contains a description of selected ways of the Jesus Christ' life. That is an escape to Egypt before Herod the Great. The next one describes the route from Jerusalem via Nazareth to Capernaum. The author of this thesis did a comparison of this path due to the different interpretation of the evangelists. The last chosen path is closing the Jesus' earthly life. It is a stretch of road from the Last Supper to Golgotha hill. The bachelor thesis tries to describe these routes from the physical-geographic difficulty at the time of writing the New Testament. The conclusion of this thesis contains a comparison of the results with the data contained in the New Testament. Rational reflection of faith in theology

The bachelor's thesis deals with theological reflection on the doctrine of the knowledge of the Christian faith. True knowledge is possible only with an understanding of the philosophical reason with which faith is interrelated. Reasonable thinking has its origins in the Greco-Roman wisdom of antiquity. The aim of the thesis is to describe theological teachings that deal with the search for truth from the time of ancient philosophy. The ancient books of the Old Testament describe, in the form of a distinction, the unity between the knowledge of faith and the intellectual knowledge of human truth. The fullness of truth has been perfected in the good news of Jesus and is accessible only in the light of faith. The main sources of faith are the testimonies of early christianity and the origin of the formulation of the confession of faith. The encyclical Fides et ratio, which is the primary source of this work, combines philosophy with theology. The study of philosophy is an essential part of theology and together they support the search for truth. Today's theological reflection emphasizes important aspects in matters of understanding the nature of man and the meaning of life. The Narratives about Jesus' Healing of the Deaf and Blind in the Synoptic Gospels

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of healing in the synoptic gospels. Illness and the suffering associated with it is a phenomenon that everyone encounters throughout their lives. We can look at illness and suffering from many different angles, and many scientific disciplines are studying this phenomenon. In my work, attention is focused on the meaning, meaning and perception of the disease from a human and theological point of view. The starting point of the work are excerpts from the synoptic gospels, which deal with the disease and the miraculous healing of the diseases of the human senses. Pericopes are divided according to the types of sensory impairments. Biblical events give us inspiration on how to perceive different life situations in accordance with God's purpose. These are model situations from which we draw lessons and inspiration in our life story. The introduction introduces the concepts of sin, suffering and illness from the perspective of the Old Testament and the New Testament. The next treatise then provides a view of the healing of the sick as a confirmation of the divinity of Jesus and the authenticity of Jesus' teaching. This diploma thesis entitled Res publica - res christiana? Biblical motivation and the Czech Brethren's perspective of christian political engagement deals with possible theological basis for Christian political engagement. The first chapter maps the biblical principles and passages inspiring the work of Christians in today's society. In the second chapter, the author deals with the life and work of the most important czech protestant theologian of the 20th century J. L. Hromádka. On specific examples of his public activities and theological statements, the author shows the key ideas and experiences that form the approach to this issue still present in the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren. Both of these chapters form the basic basis for the author's final chapter, which outlines his own theological perspective. He put this perspective in the context of personal experience with political activism in defense of liberal democracy in the Czech Republic.

The bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of the promise, coming and action of the Holy Spirit in the early church and today. The aim of the work is to explain general data on the Gospel of John and the Acts of the Apostles, to present an analysis of selected pericopes and to offer the author's reflections on the identified characters of the Holy Spirit. The purpose of this work is to find out how the writers in selected pericopes describe the action of the Holy Spirit, find matches and differences. The final chapter deals with the action of the Holy Spirit in the Church today. The work is intended for those who want to find out basic information about the topic and gain insight into the topic and relevant literature. Terezie Omesová ENGLISH ABSTRACT Parables in the Gospel of Matthew and their role This bachelor thesis deals with the themes of selected parables in the Gospel of Matthew and their relevance for our life. The introduction presents general characteristics of the parables, their definition, interpretation, occurrence, the process of handing them down and their structure. The following part turns our attention to the person of Jesus in the context of his time. The parables are given in the same sequence as in the Gospel of Matthew. Nine selected parables summarize the basic message of Jesus's teaching in the Gospel of Matthew. They are concerned especially with the following fourfold: 1 - the kingdom of God, 2 - the beginning, 3 - the vocation, and 4 - the judgement. Although the parables were voiced and written down in a completely different period and context, they - being the word of God - carry an important message also for contemporary humanity. They call us to vigilance, prudence, responsibility, forgiveness, readiness and love to our neighbours, but they also warn us against foolishness, indifference and stagnation. 1 Von Nächstenliebe zu Menschenliebe Zusammenfassung Die vorliegende Diplom-Arbeit ist dem Hauptthema der jüdisch-christlichen Ethik gewidmet, und zwar dem Thema der Nächstenliebe, ihrer Reichweite und Bedeutung. Der Ausgangspunkt der ganzen Arbeit ist der Auftrag "die Nächsten zu lieben" (Lv 19,18), der im Rahmen einer isolierten Moral der sakralen Gemeinschaft gleichgerade mit ihrer Rückseite (mit den Aufträgen im Dt 13 einen Götzendienst oder einen Fluch dem Gott mit Tod zu strafen) angesehen wird. Die supranatural gegründete Nächstenliebe, die von der Gottesliebe zu Menschen und von der Menschenliebe zum Gott abgeleitet ist, bezieht sich verständlich nur auf die Gottesfürchtige, die Gott und sein Gesetz aus ganzem Herz miteinander lieben. Nur diese bilden den Kreis von "Nächsten", wobei alle gottlose zu "Feinden" (einschliesslich der Blutsverwandten) gerechnet werden. Die Entstehung solcher Moral versteht man unter der Bedingungen ehemaligen Religiös- Territorialkonflikten. Im Weiteren beobachtet Autor anhand der religiösen Schriften einen Übergang zur allgemeinen Menschenliebe. Psalm 118 in the New Testament

Title: Psalm 118 in The New Testament Author: Tomáš Zavadil Department: Department of The New Testament Supervisor: doc. Jiří Mrázek, Th.D. Abstract: The purpose of my thesis is to analyze the usage of the Psalm 118 in The New Testament. The thesis consists of several parts; first, I give a list of all quotations and allusions of the psalm in The New Testament according to the edition Nestle-Aland. Next, I show links between the texts, describe how the original text enriches the meaning of the new contexts and how the intertextuality can be used in biblistic research. In contrast to traditional approach I emphasize the contribution of one-word allusions. I'm also trying to offer historical background of the Psalm and show its use in liturgy, especially in the context of the first century; as the Psalm was one of the most favourite Psalms. The following part of my work gives brief explanations of the passages in The New Testament where their authors quote or refer to the the Psalm 118. I focus especially on pericopes Mk 11,1-11 and Mk 12,1-12, where I analyze the allusions of the Psalm 118 in detail. The conclusion summarizes all findings of this exegetic work.
