Stylizace mluvenosti v románech Jáchyma Topola a Patrika Hartla

Bachelor thesis entitled Style of speech in the works of Jáchym Topol and Patrik Hartl introduces basic linguistic analysis of novella & novels - Chladnou zemí (Through a chilly land), Kloktat dehet (Gargling tar), Nejlepší víkend (The Best Weekend) and Okamžiky štěstí (Moments of Happiness). The main goal of this thesis is to introduce theory of linguistic analysis and presentation of found phenomena in chosen works. The thesis is devided into theoretical and practical part. Theoretical part is focused on general conception of linguistic and text construction which is supported by practical part. The content of practical part is analysis divided into the language and text construction. Selected works are examined from the phonetic-phonological, morphological, syntactic and lexical perspective within the language construction. Text construction examine composition + horizontal and vertical divison. The result of this thesis is presentation of basic and the most common phenomena within chosen works.

Reflection of Jáchym Topol´s Fiction Work in Literary Criticism in the 1990s

In this thesis, we will focus on the comparison of the Czech works of literary criticism and reviews reflecting on the work of Jáchym Topol which was published in the 1990s. The aim of this work will be to describe the formation of models of scientific discourses oriented towards the author's work. The given texts of Czech literary critiques will be seen as a product of contemporary events and thoughts, and the work will be written with the ambition to describe whether and how critics reflect on the author's pre-revolutionary work in relation to his poetics formed in the 1990s. The analysis will be preceded by a definition of the concept of representation and an introduction to the life of the author and his important moments that shaped the form of his poetics during both the pre- and post-revolutionary periods.

Children´s Reflection on Totalitarianism in the Proses of Jáchym Topol

The master´s thesis deals with particularities of representation of incoming totality of year 1968 by a child focalizer in prose Noční práce (Night Work) and Kloktat dehet (Gargling with Tar) by Jáchym Topol. To fulfil the aim, an analysis of narration that focuses on construction of narrative methods and character typology is conducted and a thematic level of text is also studied in the above-mentioned texts. The aim of the thesis is, on the basis of analysis, to incorporate chosen texts into context of author´s work and to study "commitment" of his texts.

The method of analysis of narrative modalities exposes complex fictional world. The work deals with the narrator and his reliability in the fictional world. The last chapter describes the system of characters and proposes the typology of characters for Topol's fictional world.

The Precis from the bachelor thesis The World of Jáchym Topol s Characters In this bachelor thesis I directed my attention to three representative books of the writer Jáchym Topol, about which I think, that they apposite Topol s work in the best way. I analyzed these books directing my attention to building-up of the fictitious world and the characters, than to stylistic exposure a style of narration. Every analyzed book has one own charter. In the last chapter No. four I made a comparison on the grounds of analyzed books and tried to show their similitudes and diversities. I used S. Chatman s naratologic work and typologie of characters with their building-up and methods, which I became acquainted in class of introduction to the literary theory and interpretative seminaries.

Havel's legacy at Ostrovní 13 (literary reportage)

This thesis presents the Václav Havel Library and the legacy of the person whose name it holds in the form of the literary reportage. In the theoretical part it defines the literary reportage genre. Firstly it describes the historical development of the reportage, focusing on the Czech and Polish journalistic and literary enviroment. Then, in contrast with the Czech tradition, it defines the specific genre that is the Polish literary reportage, focusing in more detail on the types of narrators and the language it uses. In the practical part the theoretical knowledge is being implemented in the form of an original literary reportage, which presents the environment and the functioning of the Václav Havel Library. It presents an unique institution that was modeled on the American presidential libraries for the purpose of archiving and publishing the works of Václav Havel and related materials, as well as organising cultural events that carry his spirit. The literary reportage Havel's legacy at Ostrovní 13 gives an interpretation of what the legacy represents, meaning in what areas we can still feel the influence of Václav Havel and what makes him an inspiration to many. Nonstandard language devices in texts written by Jáchym Topol and Jaroslav Rudiš

The bachelor thesis is focused on research and function of nonstandard language devices in selected texts written by two living Czech authors - Jáchym Topol and Jaroslav Rudiš. At the beginning these two writers are shortly introduced with selected texts and the attention is paid to their position in current czech literature. The theoretical part defines standard and nonstandard units of Czech language, followss the development and function in the art literature and represents the most frequent nonstandard language devices in individual levels. These theoretical bases are applied while analysing the selected texts. The bachelor thesis aims to describe nonstandard language devices in terms of binding to the text and their functions in it, and to analyze their applications. In the final part of the thesis the usage of the nonstandard language and individual styles of both authors are compard.
