Bridge between GLUT and Graphical User Interface Library
Friesse, Jan ; Smrž, Pavel (referee) ; Vyskočil, Michal (advisor)
This document describes a major problems with creating 3D applications in a graphic library named OpenGL. There are some basic informations about a GLUT library including main advantages and disadvantages and a description of alternative implementations of a GLUT API. Further content is focused on the most familiar graphic libraries for creating user interfaces which should be used to develop the OpenGL applications and with their advantages and disadvantages too. The next part describes a draft of a new GLUT API implementation based on the selected user interface library. Major part of thesis is about implementation of GtkGLUT library. Reader can find this implementation on CD. Last part describes future development plans.
Performance Evaluation of Graphics Accelerator
Dvořák, Milan ; Šolony, Marek (referee) ; Jošth, Radovan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with a performance evaluation of graphics accelerators. Properties of the current graphics accelerators and existing solutions for evaluating their performance are summarized. An own methodology for performance evaluation is proposed and the implementation of an OpenGL aplication with GLUT and GLEW libraries is described. In the last part, several graphic cards are tested, the influence of various factors is examined, and the measured results are discussed.
Simple Game Using OpenGL
Čapek, Radovan ; Šiler, Ondřej (referee) ; Švub, Miroslav (advisor)
The work is focused on computer graphics and game developing. It describes physical model of a car behaviour and implements it in form of a racing game. The game loads 3ds models and includes many interesting visual techniques. Theoretical basics are discussed in the work. Besides the program itself, a tutorial describing how to programme this is also an output of the work.
3D Accelerated Photo Viewer
Gajová, Veronika ; Jaroš, Jiří (referee) ; Pospíchal, Petr (advisor)
This work deals with the problem of design and implementation of multiplatform picture viewer, using OpenGL graphic library. Lag-free execution of the aplication is achieved by usage of multiple threads and suitable synchronization mechanisms.
Effective User Interface for Editing Parametric Curves
Ondruch, Milan ; Sumec, Stanislav (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
At present, the standard method of accessing a curve is using a polygon composed of control points. When dealing with complex curves, the result becomes lost in a clutter of lines comprising this polygon. This bachelor thesis proposes an algorithm for curve editing without the use of control points. The output is a tool that modifies the curve in an intuitive way reminiscent of work with plastic material. A sample program is implemented in C++ language with a graphic output by means of OpenGL library and OpenGLUT window toolkit.
Operating Data in TerraGear GIS Project
Samia, Michel ; Herout, Adam (referee) ; Hrubý, Martin (advisor)
This thesis is concerned with design and implementation of system for providing, loading and viewing geographical data from TerraGear GIS project with taking advance of SimGear library. System accesses digital terrain model and land cover data saved in Binary TerraGear file format via simple application protocol above TCP/IP and views it by FreeGLUT library.
Graphical Library for Educational Purposes
Marušič, Martin ; Šiler, Ondřej (referee) ; Štancl, Vít (advisor)
This thesis is focused on projecting and developing graphical library for educational purposes at high schools. And shows usage of this library for visualization of sinus function algorithm. Further describes graphical libraries and compares well known multimedia libraries.
Programmable Shaders in OpenGL
Radil, Přemek ; Havel, Jiří (referee) ; Švub, Miroslav (advisor)
OpenGL is mostly used in video games, computer aided designs, virtual reality, flight simulations or scientific visualisations. This bachelors thesis puts mind to production of shaders written in OpenGL Shading Language and their attachment to OpenGL aplications. Its objective is to describe methods of creating depth of field, glow and soft shadows effects and to provide tutorial about these methods. First chapters informs about OpenGL and associated library OpenGL Utility Toolkit and illustrates some common procedures necessary to achieve hereinbefore mentioned effects. Last chapters dwells directly on shaders creating these effects.
