Standuino

Standuino is the inovative force in hand-made electronic music and open source hardware as well as theoretically and historically driven movement that results in artworks, bands, workshops, happenings and writings. Standuino started as a clone board of popular Arduino but adapted to even more DIY approach of eastern region (=bastl). With this powerful tool it became part of many art installations and enabled our research team to build prototypes of many different devices most importantly musical instruments. The whole concept of Standuino is inspired and covered by the story of a pioneer of media art – Standa Filip.

The goal of this bachelor thesis is design of kitchen scale. Design is based on a close analysis of historic and contemporary weighing equipment with regard to aesthetic, ergonomic and technical requirements. Designed kitchen scale should facilitate work in the kitchen and also should act as a product of modern interior.

The work also contains information about the communication between these elements. Paper maps become a thing of the past at the time of Internet and navigation technologies. With the advent of new technologies present maps are created in digital form by vector drawing and old maps are transformed into digital ones. These data can be also published on the Internet and it is also possible to work with them in Geographic information system. In this work I tried to study, describe and compare possibilities which are offered by various web interfaces.
Analysis of music sales over the Internet

The aim of this thesis is to create a comprehensive view of current developments in the music market, to explore the position of digital distribution in comparison to the distribution in the high street shops and to analyze current trends in the distribution of digital music. At the same time, this thesis could be interesting for readers because, today there is no current publication in Czech, in which the subject would be so comprehensively addressed. The goal of the first chapter is to briefly map the distribution of intangible goods and services over the Internet. The second chapter aims to analyze the distribution of digital music, to compare its success with distribution in the high street shops and examine current trends and possible future developments. The aim of the final chapter is to examine the services of the most important digital music distributors in the world as well the Czech market and also point out weaknesses and opportunities for improving customer service.
Problems of creating digital video

The objective of this document is to analyse the process of creating video presentation. This work should deal with specific technologies of video recording (PAL, NTSC, Film), contemporary post-processing trends and it will also discuss posibilities of its distribution throw the internet. The document is divided into two parts -- the theoretical and the practical part. The first mentioned includes the scheme of the video making process, which is followed by description of each step enhanced with various technical styles of project processing. This should emphasize the variability of possibilities in filming and also the fact, that there is not only one correct way of processing the project, for diverse projects demand selection of specific mix of variants. In the practical part concrete project will be processed -- I compose a video presentation for the Faculty of Informatics and Statistics of the University of Economics in Prague.

This work then describes in details new trends in digital communication and internet and how these trends influent behaviour of today's consumer. After reading this diploma thesis the reader should have a complete view of the most important changes in communication and should be able to apply them.
