Common-rail System for Large Engines
Dvorák, Patrik ; Řehák, Kamil (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is devoted to specifications of common-rail injection systems for large engines used in heavy industry. Basic components of the common-rail system such as injectors, high pressure fuel pumps their function and their division into individual categories are discussed. Next, specific problems that must be faced by power plants if this power category is discussed, such as high injection pressures and fuel filtration. This thesis also includes examples of solutions for specific injection systems for large engines from renowned manufacturers. The topic of the production of harmful substances in the exhaust gases is also briefly discussed.
Alternative Fuels for CI Engines
Cvejn, Michal ; Prokop, Aleš (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
Interest in more environmentally friendly alternatives to fossil fuels is growing. Not only because of limited oil supplies, but also because emissions regulations are becoming more stringent. Diesel engines are widely used around the world, and not only in road transport. However, the electrification of the fleet may not be the only solution to the issue of sustainability in the future. This bachelor thesis presents an overview of fuels that could be used to replace diesel in diesel engines. For each of the individual fuels, the production process, leading properties, emission characteristics and any necessary engine design modifications are presented. Hydrotreated vegetable oil appears to be the best substitute for conventional diesel at present. Finally, the current availability of these fuels in the Czech Republic is given. More attention should be paid to this topic in the future.
Alternative Fuels for CI-engines
Matoušek, Martin ; Řehák, Kamil (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
The topic of this bachelor thesis is alternative fuels applicable in diesel engines. First, a brief introduction to the diesel engine is given, then the individual alternative fuels are described. The most important findings about these fuels are summarized and a comparison with diesel fuel is made. Finally, each fuel is evaluated in terms of its advantages, disadvantages and applicability in practice.
Fuels from Biomass.
Poskočil, Milan ; Píštěk, Václav (referee) ; Rauscher, Jaroslav (advisor)
Bachelor´s thesis deals with the study of the status quo use of fuels derived from biomass for automotive engines and their prospects. The goal of this work is processing the inventory of motor fuels derived from biomass, their utilization and illustrate the developments in this field. The work is focused mainly on the situation and developments in the Czech Republic.
Technology of Selective Catalytic Reduction for Passenger Cars
Jurík, Juraj ; Janoušek, Michal (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis describes the selective catalytic reduction technology. It concerned of reducing nitrogen oxides in diesel engines. It describes components of the technology, their function and location in system. in first chapter there are described harmful substances of exhaust gas in connection with this technology. Second chapter contains description of emission standards. Next chapters are describing selective catalytic reduction and solutions of some manufacturers.
Critical Sector Analysis of the Fuel Market
Jaroš, Martin ; Strašil, Pavel (referee) ; Škapa, Stanislav (advisor)
In my bachelor‘s thesis I have analysed the diesel fuel market in the Czech Republic from the point of view of the petrol stations offers as well the consumers demand. It concerns oligopoly market form, where the front positions are taken by foreign brands. I have determined the structure type by the data referring to the market power of particular petrol station networks and also thanks to the price research itself. Consumers behave quite often very illogically in this market due to the lack of available information. These conclusions I have obtained by the market research I did on active drivers. A modern solution is a new web portal establishment based on cooperation with petrol stations, which would provide information about the fuel market to the drivers.
Catalytic converter and particulate filter functions on diesel vehicles
V závěru pojednává o možnostech snížení uhlíkové stopy a vyhovění nadcházející emisní normě EURO VII.
Aircraft Piston Engines - Present Status and Perspective Development.
Mackovík, Matěj ; Šplíchal, Miroslav (referee) ; Klement, Josef (advisor)
This thesis describes actually certified aircraft engines, analysis of different parameters of engines such as max power, dry weight, arrangement, cooling. Sets potencial advantages and disadvantages of select engines. Part of thesis is guess future progression.
Powertrains of Octavia vehicles
Friedl, Michal ; Vopařil, Jan (referee) ; Píštěk, Václav (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis is concerned of powertrains of Skoda Octavia vehicles. It describes their attributes, technologies used, engineering solutions, development and usage during the time, when Skoda Octavia was being sold on Czech, resp. Slovak market.
Measurement of dielectric properties of liquid fuels for automotive power units
Redr, Martin ; Čech, Ondřej (referee) ; Chladil, Ladislav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis dealt with measuring of dielectric properties of propellants. The aim of the thesis was to find out differences between dielectric quantities of propellants from various manufacturers and in different proportions of refined to so-called bio-components. The theoretical physical principles of dielectric substances – permittivity and dissipation factor were described. In the thesis the most famous electrical insulation fluids whose dielectric characteristics are similar as propellants were mentioned. Furthermore, the study about dielectric properties of propellants and chosen fuels on the Czech market were mentioned. In the experimental part of the thesis, selected fuel samples at varying frequency and temperature were measured. These results were then evaluated and compared.
