The graphical data analysis in various statistical computing systems
Maroušek, Vít ; Pecáková, Iva (advisor) ; Černý, Jindřich (referee)
Goal of my thesis is to show and compare various ways of graphical data analysis in statistical computing systems. This area is still developing, new techniques are being discovered and the already known are being developed. This work is split into three parts, one theoretical, one comparing and one general with new ideas. The first part is theoretical and is dedicated to classification of statistical variables. For statistical computing systems I offer a simplified classification because of the way they treat some types of variables. Second part of my work compares graphical outputs of three most used statistical computing systems SAS, SPSS and STATISTICA. This comparison is based on some of the most commonly used graphical methods. The outputs are tables with detailed description and examples of graphs from each system are attached. The last part is focused on the general graphical data exploration and follows the simplified classification of variables. In this part I use common graphical techniques and introduce some new or fewer used techniques. Many of them haven't been described in any Czech literature yet. Almost all the graphs presented in this work were created by me in various statistical computing systems. Two were copied from literature because of serious problems with the process of their creation.

Analýza bankovního sektoru ve vybraných zemích východní Evropy
Křížek, Tomáš ; Dvořák, Petr (advisor) ; Janda, Karel (referee)
The thesis analyzes the banking sectors in selected countries of CEE region, in particular in Albania, Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina and compares their development with the Czech Republic as it is CEE country with one of the most advanced banking sectors in the region. Three parts of the paper analyzing separately each of the countries are supplemented by country comparison and final conclusions. General development, development of banking sector as well as banking market and financial performance of banks are examined. As a conclusion, all the countries develop in a different way and with different starting conditions. Albania relies more on qualitative development with low absolute figures but high relative indicators with respect to the utilization of available resources. The development in Serbia is rather quantitative, in contrary to the situation in Albania. Bosnia and Herzegovina is progressing quite ambiguously also due to uncertain political situation in the country. It can be also concluded that all the three countries still have to go a long way to reach comparable level of their banking systems with the Czech Republic.

The short-run impacts of chosen standards on producers from developing countries are compared then (the long-run impacts cannot be compared yet because of lack of relevant data available).

The aim of this paper is to determine, whether the conclusions reached by some authors about the influence of the development of the financial system, bank size and taxation on bank profitability are also applicable to the European banking sector. The balance and income statement is analysed in short as well. Further, an insight into the profitability ratios is given, because the comparison of these ratios is the centre of this paper. The forth, methodological, subsection and the fifth as well are focusing on the process contiguous our comparison. The data selection process and the influences on it are described in this section. The section also includes the fundamental base and hypotheses. The profitability comparison can be found in the next three subsections. The banks are not looked at as individual institutions, but there are concentrated into bigger units, based on country of residence and size.
