Emotional experience in patients with chronic renal failure
Unzeitigová, Aneta ; Hrachovinová, Tamara (advisor) ; Šípek, Jiří (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the emotional experience of patients with chronic renal failure. It aims to explore positive and negative emotional experiences, the presence of depressive and anxiety symptoms, the degree of anger and alexithymia in patients with chronic renal failure undergoing hemodialysis. The theoretical part summarizes previously published theoretical knowledge in this area and the empirical part describes the statistical measurement and comparison of selected variables of emotional experience in the research sample. The theoretical part is divided into 4 chapters, the first of them deals with the medical aspects of chronic renal failure and its treatment. The second chapter deals with the coping with illness, defines psychological aspects of chronic disease and describes the patient's subjective perception of the disease and attitudes towards the disease. The third chapter summarizes the definitions of emotions and emotional experience and defines the most respected theories of emotion. The fourth chapter describes the emotional experiences of illness, factors affecting the emotional experience of illness and deals with depression, anxiety, anger and alexithymia, at the end focuses on current research in this area. The empirical part is devoted to the empirical investigation of...
Changes in foot arch form in hemodialysis patients
Havrda, Prokop ; Bitnar, Petr (advisor) ; Katolický, Jakub (referee)
Chronic renal failure and dialysis treatment affect the musculoskeletal system and functional capacity patients. This work assesses the effect with a focus on changes in the structure and function of the foot. The theoretical part deals with the issue of chronic renal failure and dialysis treatment. It presents evidence of the influence of some internal diseases on the foot, in order to better understand the changes taking place in the examined probands. It describes pathological changes, that affect functional capacity of the examined probands. The practical part assesses the effect of chronic renal failure and dialysis treatment on the height of longitudinal foot arch, gait stereotype and postural stability of 30 patients from the dialysis center Fresenius Medical Care - DS, s.r.o. and FN Motol.
Muscle metabolism and its effect on physical condition in patients with chronic renal failure receiving hemodialysis
Brůhová, Zuzana ; Mahrová, Andrea (advisor) ; Táborský, Petr (referee)
Title: Muscle metabolism and its effect on physical condition in patients with chronic renal failure receiving hemodialysis Objective: Assess the status of muscle metabolism in patients starting hemodialysis and patients receiving hemodialysis long time, to determine some changes in muscle metabolism in both groups in the time period and ultimately assess its impact on physical condition and quality of life of hemodialysis patients. Method: Fill anamnestic questionnaire and examination of body composition using bioimpedence device (BCM) in the group of patients with chronic renal failure who are beginning to be treated with hemodialysis and a group of patients treated with hemodialysis for several years. Compare the results of both groups. To obtain additional information from medical records. Results: It was found that hemodialysis therapy affects the status of muscle metabolism in terms of reducing muscle mass (LTM). The dependence of LTM, however, the duration of hemodialysis treatment assays. The study showed that if patients are nutritionally stable and regularly engaged in some physical activity, loss of muscle mass is lower than in individuals who have a passive way of life. Keywords: chronic renal failure, hemodilysis, muscle metabolism, physical condition
The most frequent locomotor disorders in patients with chronic renal failure on dialysis
Jurová, Klára ; Mahrová, Andrea (advisor) ; Teplan, Vladimír (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with muskuloskeletal system disorders in hemodialysis pacients with chronic renal failure. Theoretic informations about the most frequent disorders of musculoskeletal system in uremic patients, patophysiologic consequences, clinical symptoms, posibility of investigations and common therapeutic management. Secondly this thesis interests about of annamnestic data, physiotherapeutic investigation and evaluation of the data. Aim of this study was supported importance of the physiotherapeutic intervention. Should be important complete the multidisciplinary team following long therm hemodialysis patients with physiotherapeut. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Quality of life of hemodialysis patients
Kycltová, Pavlína ; Tomová, Šárka (advisor) ; Hlaváčová, Marie (referee)
Throughout the introduction to this bachelor thesis I would like to narrate the issue of a chronic kidney failure. The causes, symptoms, diagnosis, cure as well as the quality of life of patients diagnosed with this condition, will be mentioned. We will learn what principle hemodialysis is based on, what its complications might be and what requirements have to be met, in order for the patient to undergo a hemodialysis treatment. My aim will be to depict the problems caused by this illness in a family, work place and one's social life. The assessment of this issue will be based on information gathered from a survey conducted by myself at the hemodialysis center. My thesis will be concluded, with the use of a graphic and verbal description, by an analysis of the survey questionnaire and a disclosure of the data and final results about the quality of life of hemodialysis patients which participated in the research.
Nursing care of a dialyzed patient
Mádlová, Marcela ; Di Cara, Veronika (advisor) ; Jankovcová, Kateřina (referee)
Background: Caring for dialyzed patients is demanding from several perspectives. As far as the patient is concerned, a psyche plays a big role here. Although it is a rule that patients are detailed to the hemodialysis program, some patients will not be mentally prepared for hemodialysis treatment and worsening their health condition. Some patients are mistaken with the fact that dialysis is now part of their life. A large number of patients initially have plenty of myths and misinformation about dialysis and are therefore stressed and scared at the first dialysis session. They are afraid of pain, they may be afraid of needles, and they are afraid of what is going to happen. One of the tasks of a nurse is to identify and adequately communicate with these patients, as this avoids many problems, and the patient is more likely to cope with his illness and realizes that even though their lifestyle has changed, they can still live high-quality and satisfying life. Methodology: A case study, a case study of a patient who was chosen by deliberate, purposeful selection, was used to prepare the final bachelor thesis, as this patient represents research issues, first of all inadequate education and psychological stress associated with chronic renal failure. The aim of the research was to describe and evaluate...
