Children's Musical Creativity in the Context of Pedagogical Creativity

The dissertation entitled Children's Musical Creativity in the Context of Pedagogical Creativity focuses on formal pre-primary music education. A part of this education is the development of children's musical creativity influenced by their teachers. Therefore, this research problem is viewed from a dual perspective; one of pre-school children and the other of pre-primary educators. A theoretical part of this thesis describes children's musical creativity in the music education context o in terms of historical, international, and national development. Similarly, this thesis deals with the research context and presents constructed tests of children's musical creativity. Subsequently, the terms of musical creativity, children's musical creativity, and pedagogical creativity are defined. The children's musical creativity is viewed from the perspective of internal and external influencing factors. Finally, the role of the pre-primary pedagogue and their creative pedagogical work in the development of children's musical creativity is characterized in more detail. The main areas covered in this thesis include Maria Montessori´s pedagogy, its historical development, its use in the Czech educational system and its benefits for children of pre-school age. The text describes the most important elements and principles of Maria Montessori´s pedagogy and includes a comparison of daily routine in classical pre-primary schools and Montessori centres. The practical part presents results of a research focused on the use of Maria Montessori´s pedagogy in today´s families. The research seeks to find out what knowledge of this pedagogy the parents have, whether the children of pre-school age attend Montessori centres and whether Montessori´s teaching aids are also used at home.
A Model of Montessori Institution for Pre-school Children

The aim of the work was to set up a model of a pre-school institution which will educate children in the way of Marie Montessori´s alternative pedagogical conception. To fulfil the main goal, a particular aim was first carried out {--} Montessori pre-school institutional practices in the Czech Republic were mapped and some photos were taken. The aim was completed by empirical data collection during visiting nine out of eleven addressed Montessori institutions and by an interview with a professional in this field. The research was realized through the open interviews with the heads or teachers of Montessori classes. Based on the data collection, the main goal, a model of Montessori institution for pre-school children,could be completed. The plan depicts the goals of this institution, a target group, legal forms, economical balance, services offered, special interest activities, methods and forms of work, personnel, operating parameters, space and material equipment together with variants of dispositions, evaluation and sustainability. Completeness and transparency of the plan, which is based on the research realized, enable to carry it out at any place in the Czech Republic. The thesis can also inspire existing Montessori institutions to make changes or innovations.

This Bachelor Thesis introduces the problem of bilingual education as a new trend in Early Childhood education. The theoretical part discusses the specific stages of development of pre-school aged children, with the focus on speech development. It also defines the term bilingualism and deals with bilingual families, bilingual education of pre-school children in the family and pre-school settings, and the influence of bilingual education on children`s development. The practical research focuses on the fulfilment of pre-school children{\crq}s needs under different psychosocial and organisational conditions within the environment of Czech and English pre-schools.
