Design of metasurfaces for advanced optical elements
Březina, Tomáš ; Kvapil, Michal (referee) ; Hrtoň, Martin (advisor)
Metasurfaces represent an intriguing class of materials with a wide range of promising applications, one of them being advanced planar optical elements for industrial production and imaging. The main goal of this thesis is to design such an optical element, namely a beam-shaper consisting of dielectric anostructures in HCTA (high constrast transmitarray) arrangement. The first part of this work introduces a simplified theoretical model of the optical response of building blocks that facilitates understanding of the basic functional mechanism behind the phase metasurfaces. To quantify the optical response of dielectric building blocks with enough precision, numerical FDTD simulations were employed. As a result, a database compatible with lithographic fabrication procedures was created. To find the phase distribution ensuring the desired beam-shaping function, two approaches were investigated and implemented: the semi-analytical method of geometric transformation and the iterative Gerchberg-Saxton algorithm. The final output of this work is then the distribution of building blocks within the metasurface that imprints into the impinging beam the previously calculated phase profile.
Reservoirs - Brno, Zluty kopec (Yellow hill)
Navrátil, Zdeněk ; Nytra, Milan (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
The task was to design a new use for three former underground reservoirs on Žlutý kopec in Brno and its area. The main goal of the pre-diploma project was to define the use of reservoirs, which is reflected in the urban design. Connections, entrances to the area, the use of existing buildings and overall use of the area is part of the urbanism part. The main design itself contains the building of the information and visitor center, which allows access to the oldest and youngest reservoir. The design of the building uses different height levels in the area and connects the street level with the park level.
Reservoirs - Brno, Zluty kopec (Yellow hill)
Bařina, Štěpán ; Dvořák, Tomáš (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
This work deals with the elaboration of architectural and urban design of an area surrounding the historic water reservoirs in Brno – Tvrdého Street. The first part contains the urban design on the entire area, after that one specific building is processed in more detail in the form of an architectural study. The new use of the underground reservoirs is also a part of this project. The work is partly a continuation of older atelier work which was focused on an thorough analysis of the are and the possibilities of its development.
SLAVKOV - REVITALISATION OF BONAPARTE CENTER
Kousalová, Barbora ; Plášil, Jiří (referee) ; Boháč, Ivo (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the design of a multifunctional complex consisting of the existing Bonaparte restaurant building and new outbuildings on the neighboring parcel located in Slavkov u Brna in the urban conservation area in the immediate vicinity of the castle grounds. The newly created complex provides the necessary missing public functions at the level of contemporary standards. It offers an answer to the concept of neoplasm in the historical environment and its interaction in the context of the second part - a reconstructed historical building. The multifunctional complex of both buildings should provide classrooms for elementary art school, restaurant, social hall, library, information center, public toilet, seniors / youth club or maternity center, polyfunctional spaces for rent, spaces for dental surgery.
Design and implementation of demonstration model "double inverted pendulum"
Slabý, Vít ; Brablc, Martin (referee) ; Bastl, Michal (advisor)
This thesis describes the process of rebuilding an experimental model of a single pendulum on a cart into the double pendulum on a cart. The control algorithm in MATLAB/Simulink environment for stabilization of the pendulum in the inverse position is designed. For this purpose, LQR state feedback control was implemented. Also method for swinging the pendulum into inverse position from stable state (swing-up) was designed. Feedforward method was utilised for swing-up control. In the thesis, functionality of these algorithms is shown.
The use of superelements in solving large systems of MKP
Hluška, Milan ; Halabuk, Dávid (referee) ; Návrat, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the utilization of superelements in finite element method simulations. First, the basic theory of FEM and superelements is explained. The principles and procedures of using superelements in ANSYS and its scripting language APDL is described next. Third part focuses on custom-made program that illustrates the appication of superelements, and its results of an exemplary calculation are compared with the results from ANSYS APDL in the last part.
Completion of the area Údolní 53 for the Faculty of Architecture and Faculty of Fine Arts
Šimoník, Luděk ; Joba, Pavel (referee) ; Makovský, Zdeněk (advisor)
The project solves transformation of the old buildings on Údolní street into the new campus for The Faculty of fine arts and the Faculty of architecture.
Thermoelectric Generator for charging of mobil devices
Nguyen, Michal ; Janák, Luděk (referee) ; Vlach, Radek (advisor)
This thesis deals with a problem of building and measuring the thermoelectric generator for charging a mobile device with use of a candle.
The Study of Inbound Logistics in Manufactoring Company
Voráčová, Eliška ; Litera, Petr (referee) ; Jurová, Marie (advisor)
The master's thesis is focused on optimal selection of transportation solution provider as a key activity of inbound logistics department of manufacturing company ABC s.r.o. The summary of general activities and objectives of inbound logistics are followed by the analysis of last selection procedure. Then there is mentioned suggestion of new selection procedure using the methods of Multiple Criteria Decision Making which is based on the knowledge from specialized logistical literature. This work assume that using the methods of Multiple Criteria Decision Making will result in more effective selection procedure in company ABC s.r.o.
Human powered airplanes overview
Valuch, Tomáš ; Koštial, Rostislav (referee) ; Zikmund, Pavel (advisor)
In this bachelor thesis is elaborated historical development of human-powered aircrafts. The aim is to asses an overview of human-powered aircraft, to evaluate trends in the airframe structure and evaluate trends of specific design parameters. The first part deals with the historical development of the aircrafts. The next part focuses on the description of Kremer‘s prices and their importance for the development of this aircraft category. The following describes the structural components of the airframe and structural parameters. These parameters and flight performance are assessed. The last section is devoted to future developments and accomplishments records.
