Alternative methods and algorithms for flame detection
Kozubík, Kamil ; Dřínovský, Jiří (referee) ; Frýza, Tomáš (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with flame detection methods. The purpose of the project was to create a flame detector, which uses the alternative method of flame detection. The introduction of this thesis gives the summary overview of the existing methods for flame detection. Further, the existing flame detectors and their applications are described. Two alternative algorithms for flame detection which are based on the digital signal analysis were realized on the PC. Flame detector, which utilizes the digital analysis of audio signal, was realized on 8 bit microcontroller Atmega128 and achieved results are presented.
Modelling of air flow in combustion chamber ZKG
Krišpín, Jan ; Lisý, Martin (referee) ; Špiláček, Michal (advisor)
The subject of the submitted bachelor thesis is a description of chemical and physical behavior of biomass, methods of energetic transformation of biomass, processes in a combustion chamber during burning and primarily flowing of combustion air. A part of this thesis is a modelling of an air flow in the combustion chamber using the finite elements method with an evaluation and a suggestion of construction changes of the combustion chamber.
Production of electric energy from biomass
Buřil, Tomáš ; Škvařil, Jan (referee) ; Moskalík, Jiří (advisor)
The objective of this bachelor´s thesis is to summarize possibilities of energy use of biomass, especially a production of electric energy. The thesis describes and shows theoretical principles of used processes, as well as technical devices for getting energy. Among used processes belong combustion of biomass, thermic gasification and anaerobic fermentation connected with production of biogas. Electric energy is in these cases produced in combination with thermic energy, a process like this is called cogeneration. In the second part, technical solution of a biogas station in Vidochov is described. There are also stated reasons for its building, as well as an economic return of the investment.
Evaluation of technology for the biomass incineration.
Trna, Lukáš ; Tabasová, Andrea (referee) ; Jícha, Jaroslav (advisor)
The objective of this bachelor‘s thesis is to provide general information about biomass and technologies for its using. The thesis is diveded into four main parts. The first part describe sources of biomass, its adaptation and its processing for energy purposes. The second part is more comprehensive and mentions individual technoligies and possibilities of final using of biomass. The third part sums sup ecological falls and efects of production biomass on environment. The fourth part deals with economics and compares costs of the most available technolgies for gaining thermal energy.
Fireplace inlay
Štelcl, Otakar ; Pospíšil, Jiří (referee) ; Fiedler, Jan (advisor)
Bacheor´s work is divided into four main parts. First part deal with division of fireplace inlays according to material, construction of combustion chamber, combustion air, heat transmission and used grate. Second part deal with ČSN EN 13229. Majority part of work deal with problematic of measurement instruments, measurement section of combustion products and also with measurement of effectivity of fireplace inlay. Last part of Bacheor’s work speak about possibilities of optimalization effectivity in whole amount of power of fireplace inlay.
Production efficiency of Miscanthus giganteus and possibilities of energy use
KROPŠOVÁ, Marie
The thesis deals with renewable resources, biomass a its possible uses. The work is focused on Miscanthus sinensis. It described characteristics of plants, growing technology, harvesting and possible ways to use it - mainly burning. Attention is also focused on the yield potential of plants. The practical part of the thesis describes experiments with miscanthus at the experimental site in České Budějovice. There are reported experimental results and their evaluation and comparison with the literature.
BIOMASS AS RAW MATERIAL FOR THE PRODUCTION OF FUELS AND ENERGY
SIKYTOVÁ, Pavlína
The aim of this research is to develop technological processes for energy recovery, with an emphasis on biomass power generation and the production of biofuels. The work describes and shows the types of biomass, possibilities of its use and development phase of processing of biomass. The prospect of biofuel use i mentioned and in the end the topic is elaborated on the legislative environment and promotion of biomass in the Czech Republic.
Energy using of biomasy from agriculture
ŠPAČEK, Zdeněk
This thesis deals with comparing the suitability of growing grass for energy use over the energy use of the residual agricultural biomass. The thesis includes characterization, agrotechnics, cultivation, harvesting and yield of each crop species and their comparison is shown in several graphic examples. According to the information gathered, maize and sorghum are the most suitable for the production of biogas, especially due to the amount of ?green mass? produced. The most useful for burning is Miscanthus, which is distinguished for its high dry mass yield, immunity to weeds, and the highest heating value and energy yield.
The toxicology of combustion products
SIKORA, Henryk
Fire presents a significant risk of the formation of toxic combustion gases. These substances further endanger fire squad units and nearby residents. Toxic gases are responsible for almost 50% of all fire casualties and cause one third of fatal casualties. The amount and composition of gases depend to a great extent on the conditions of thermal degradation especially temperature and the amount of oxygen in the surrounding atmosphere. Prevention or minimisation of consequences of formation of toxic gases involves a rapid and a quality analysis. For this purpose, the methods that proved to be the best suited are gas chromatography and mass spectrometry combined with micro-extraction to solid phase. This work involves analysis of combustion products of selected materials and study of their toxic characteristics. These are especially wood, oil products, various types of rubber and plastic materials. Using analysis of these combustion gases more than 300 hundred substances have been identified. These are especially carbon oxides, nitrogen oxides, sulphur oxides, volatile organic substances, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, etc. Monitoring of combustion gases was performed even in the vicinity of large fires. The findings were complemented by information from expert studies and events of past years. In case of identified substances which present the greatest health risk, the most significant toxic characteristics were described with emphasis on acute exposition, symptoms of intoxication and possible consequences. Following all these facts protection measures are suggested in relation to the formation of toxic combustion gases.
