Electromagnetic model of a line-start synchronous machine
Lípa, Miroslav ; Lolová, Iveta (referee) ; Bárta, Jan (advisor)
The main goal of the work was to compare two effective methods used for calculating the electric machine. The primary method uses an electromagnetic model made of a resistance network, which is compared to a finite element method using an Ansys Maxwell environment. The resistance network is calculated in the Python programming language. The work deals with a synchronous machine with permanent magnets that can be run directly from the source, because it contains the squirrel cage. Thus, at steady state, the machine achieves greater efficiency than the asynchronous machine. The first chapter describes the basic principles of a line-start synchronous machines, the second chapter shows the ways in which electrical machines can be modelled. The third chapter describes the derivation of the resistance network for the assigned machine, the whole electromagnetic design is given here. The fourth chapter shows the gradual calculation, describing the simplifications and problems that have arisen, it also shows a comparison with the finite element method.
Analysis of effect of the switching system of low voltage breaker on the thermal tripping unit
Liščák, Jiří ; Šimek, David (referee) ; Dostál, Lukáš (advisor)
Main aims of this master’s thesis are executing measurements and simulations on low voltage circuit breaker and analyzing effect of the switching mechanism on the thermal tripping unit. There are two programs used for simulations in this thesis ANSYS and SolidWorks Flow Simulation. As another part of the thesis were done two types of tests. First was electrical durability test and second one was warming test. In this thesis were measured values of warming on whole current path not only on thermal tripping unit.
Calculation of electrodynamic forces in 1600 A circuit breaker
Musil, Pavel ; Bušov, Bohuslav (referee) ; Valenta, Jiří (advisor)
The thesis is focused on the calculation of electrodynamic forces that counterwork on moving contacts of compact circuit breaker BL1600 from the company OEZ Letohrad. The thesis is divided into separates chapters that build on themselves. In the introduction the reason why we deal with calculation of dynamic forces and structural arrangement of current carrying path is described. In the following chapter there is a theoretical analysis of electrodynamic forces that conterwork on individual parts of circuit breaker´s element. The third part is devoted to structural arrangement of the circuit breaker BL1600. In this part we can find an example of using the circuit broker Modeion in practice. Two next chaptures deal with adjustment of the model of current carrying path which then serves for the calculation of electrodynamic forces. The rest of the thesis is devoted to my own calculations. These calculations are mainly stationary where we try to find the forces that conterwork on the contacts in a steady current and in a point in time. There are also dynamics calculation when we can watch the forces that counterwork on contacts in a certain time interval. The last chapter is devoted to a stationary calculation of forces that counterwork on the electrical arc which arises while turning the short-circuit current off. The obtained results are evaluated in partial conclusions of this thesis.
Mathematical model of RCCB sensitive to pulsating direct currents
Kaser, Jakub ; Dostál, Lukáš (referee) ; Valenta, Jiří (advisor)
This Thesis deals with problematics of residual current circuit breaker and its eventual operation malfunction due to DC components. There are magnetic phenomena described in details which occur inside of the apparatus. Consequently, there is proposed a mathematical model of the circuit breaker in Simulink program. The comparison of B-H curves of transformer core is composed and achieved results are incorporated into the proposed model in order to verify a correct operation of the circuit breaker and its reaction to different conditions. The verification of the symmetry of the magnetic field in residual current circuit breaker in Ansys Maxwell program is also a part of the study.

The second part deals with the introduction of motor solutions and methods used for loss reduction. In the third part, the thesis deals with the calculating selected parameters, the design of motors in RMxprt, and their modification for improving efficiency. The fourth part deals briefly with the design of motors in Ansys Maxwell, comparison of results obtained from Maxwell and RMxprt with the results from measurement for motor JMO90-4S-90 and comparison of results from Maxwell and RMxprt for other motor solutions.
Energy harvesting generator for train track side
To by malo zvýšiť životnosť a spoľahlivosť zariadenia. S pomocou analógie magnetických obvodov a softvéru využívajúceho metódu konečných prvkov FEMM a Ansys Maxwell, boli navrhnuté tri rôzne synchrónne generátory s permanentnými magnetmi. Simulácia v prostredí Matlab Simulink dokázala, že výsledný návrh generátora je schopný dodávať priemerný výkon 5 W počas prechodu vlaku zo stlačenia pražca väčšieho ako 2 mm.

This thesis deals with the elaboration of The Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor and the calculation of its parameters. In the first part, the construction and used permanent magnets of this motor are listed here. The next part of the thesis contains a short overview of the stator windings, the calculation of the winding factors and calculation of the basic parameters of the stator winding. The calculation of the magnetic induction in the air gap is also illustrated here. The result is recalculated by using the Carter factor and then the value of the first harmonics of air-gap flux density is determined. The result is compared with the analysis in the program FEMM. The next part of the thesis is creating a comprehensive overview of the machine using a replacement circuit diagram and phasor diagrams. Finally, the thesis contains model created in RMxprt and ANSYS Maxwell. The results of the model analysis are compared with the analytical calculation
