Před více než rokem Barack Hussein Obama po svém triumfu ve volbách nastoupil na post prezidenta USA a s trochou nadsázky tak získal "nejhorší zaměstnání v zemi" Čekal na něj úkol vyvést americkou ekonomiku z hluboké globální krize, vyřešit dvě nepopulární války, znovu vybudovat renomé americké diplomacii, zvrátit jaderné ambice Íránu a neposlušnost KLDR, usměrnit izraelsko-palestinský konflikt, a to je jen začátek nekonečného seznamu. Nemálo práce mu přitom přidělal jeho předchůdce George W. Bush, jehož první volební období plné militarismu, unilateralismu a černobílého rozdělování mapy světa na "ty dobré a ty zlé", pošpinilo dobré jméno Spojených států, poškodilo spojenecké svazky a uvrhlo zemi do rekordního dluhu. Přestože sám Bush mladší se ze svých chyb po obhájení mandátu poučil, vyměnil některé neokonzervativní členy svého týmu za mladší a ke světu otevřenější spolupracovníky a vydal se smířlivější cestou, nepodařilo se mu jeho omyly napravit. Barack Obama si byl Bushova obratu dobře vědom a je důkazem jeho moudrosti a rozvahy, že se neuchýlil k bezhlavému propouštění zaměstnanců bývalé administrativy, ale byl schopen z ní vytáhnout nejsilnější články. Obama mistrně zkombinoval osobnosti bývalé administrativy, své věrné druhy i dřívější rivaly, a dal tak vzniknout různorodému, ale pevnému týmu bez vyhraněné politické orientace. V podstatě si v okruhu svých kolegů vytvořil vlastní systém brzd a protivah.

Analysis of the process of ISAF mission in Afghanistan

This work contains 4 main parts. Firstly, it is focused on application of the concept of failed states and the theoretical point of view. Second part offers 4 theoretical principals concerning with the problem o failed states. In the third part it brings an analysis of the situation in Afghanistan by using Failed state Index. The last part offers case study about Czech mission in Afghanistan.

Business and cultural particularities of Afghanistan

The aim of this thesis is to present Afghanistan as the state that is located in south, southeast and east part of Asia; as the country which culture and religion has an important influence when preparing and processing business. Within the thesis we analyze the unusualness of business environment, country situation, its position in the economic hierarchy of the developing countries as well as we look for the help possibilities by decreasing of poverty and narcotic production.

The Involvement of the Czech Republic in the Post-conflict Reconstruction in Afghanistan

This thesis refers to the solution to the ongoing conflict in one of the poorest and most unstable states in the world -- in Afghanistan. Historical aspects of this conflict lasting since 2001 are analysed as well as factors determining the character of the Afghan society. Further, this thesis deals with the development of the conflict and with the post-conflict reconstruction, which will contribute considerably to its solution. There are lots of internal and external participants in the post-conflict reconstruction. One of them is the Czech Republic operating as a member of the international community. The Czech contribution is thoroughly described in the case study, which forms the last chapter of this thesis.

Cultural and business specifics of Afghanistan

The objective of this thesis is to give complex information about entrepreneurial and business environment in Afghanistan taking into account socio-economical situation, historical development, culture and involvement of international community. Concrete information which can be utilised in business meeting is the main aim rather than theoretical analysis. Author used statistical data, personal experience from 14-week-long internship in Afghan company in Kabul and inputs from other individuals consulted, representing either business sphere, academic or diplomatic circles during writing this elaborate. The desired outcome for a reader is gaining more specific picture of local environment and together with adequate cultural sensitivity being able to held a business meeting.

Účinnost mírových prostředků v řešení mezinárodních sporů

Diplomová práce se zabývá mírovým řešením mezinárodních sporů. První část práce tvoří ucelený přehled mírových prostředků k řešení mezinárodních sporů - jednak prostředků řešení sporů dohodou a prostředků v případě jednostranného řešení sporů, jednak uvádí nástroje OSN a orgány OSN odpovědné za mezinárodní mír a bezpečnost. Ve druhé části práce je zkoumána aplikace mírových prostředků OSN na konkrétních příkladech: Kypr,Afghánistán, Irák a Rwanda.
