Analysis of tactile books for children with severe visual impairment in the context of teaching the Czech language

The first part of the Thesis explores the specifics (developmental and educational) of a visually impaired pupil. The sense of touch is defined as being the major compensatory sense of visually impaired people. It also describes the principles and forms of the effective haptization and proposes suitable activities for the development of the touch perception. Through the basic tactile-graphics procedures, the text gets to its central theme, which is the tactile books (books with textures designed for the visually impaired). These books, as well as the possibilities of their borrowing or purchasing, are presented to a reader. Using the analysis and comparison of the available specialized materials, the Thesis summarizes the methodical procedures used for the creation of the tactile textbooks, which are suitable for the integrated visually impaired children in the lessons of the Czech Language. PhDr. Martina Šmejkalová, Ph.D. Abstract The dissertation aims at the language education of pupils with visual impairment (VI) at high schools. Historical forming of Czech language didactics of teaching pupils with VI is analyzed in the framework of the cultural and social context of the period from 1807, when the first Institute for blinds was found in Prague at Hradčany, to a social and political milestone in 1989 with main view on the period dating from 1946 to present. Based on the suggestion from the report, attention will be paid to the present. There will be an identification of breakthroughs and positive locations (e.g. diversification of Czech language teaching in relation to individual types of VI), which would be useful in restoring our teaching practice, taking into account the current imperative of induced education. Historical research focuses on specific aspects of language education without a possibility of visual information. Methodological approaches common in linguistic and social pedagogical fields of study are combined in this purpose. The aim is to link both levels into the consistent perspective on the surveyed issue. Working out of the historical...

PhDr. Lea Květoňová, Ph.D. ABSTRACT This bachelor thesis is focused on implementaion of support measures at the elementary school for pupils with visual impairment. Its aim is to find out how the support of pupils with visual impairment is provided at the elementary school established according to §16 Act no. 561/2004 Sb. - the education law, describes the conditions for providing optimal support for these pupils and suggests improving measures and procedures. The thesis is composed of the theoretical part and the research parts. The theoretical part deals with the caterogy "pupils with visual impairment", their classification, diagnostic, development and specifics. The term support measures is explained and ten sections of support from "Catalog of support measures for pupils needed the education support beacause of visual impairment and the weakning of the visual perception". TITLE: Teaching Czech of children and pupils with visual impairment AUTHOR: Magdalena Čechová DEPARTMENT: Department of Czech language SUPERVISOR: PaedDr. Simona Pišlová, Dr. ABSTRACT: Bachelor thesis is focused on teaching the Czech language of children and pupils with visual impairments. The aim is to clarify the specifics of the education of children with impaired visual perception and introduce methods to facilitate their learning. In the first part of the development of care for the visually impaired, described their progression in the education literature and presented to interested persons may bring the issue closer. The second part focuses more practically, describes learning opportunities for visually impaired pupils today, gives particular examples of textbooks and teaching aids and a questionnaire determines the possibility of using the proposed new equipment. In this work the method was used interview, observation, questionnaires, excerpts.
