BUILDING A PLACE ATTACHMENT AMONG HOUSING ESTATE RESIDENTS: A CASE STUDY OF THE ĎÁBLICE AND SPOŘILOV HOUSING ESTATES

The thesis deals with the topic of place attachment, i.e. the emotional bond of a person to a place, in this case to the place of residence, with a focus on residents of socialist housing estates. The first part of the thesis is devoted to the theoretical background. It discusses, on the one hand, the available literature on the development of place attachment, the ways of measuring it or the psychological nature of this attachment itself. Also, the phenomenon of modernist housing estates and their contemporary image is described in this part. In the second, empirical part, the aim is to find out how place attachment is formed among the residents of the housing estates, what further influences this relationship, and how this process of evolving differs in the two estates. The research is qualitative in nature and the main method of data collection is semi-structured interviews. The case study was carried out in two housing estates in Prague, which differ both in size and in how well they are known by the general public - the Ďáblice housing estate and the Spořilov housing estate. Construction of prefabricated residential houses in the 1970s with emphasis on the construction of "Severní město" in Prague

The present thesis called The Construction of Prefabricated Residential Houses in the 1970s With Emphasis On The Construction of Severní Město in Prague focuses on the specifics of the conception and realization of the residential districts in the northern part of Prague. It describes the political and social background of the period when these districts were emerging and the atmosphere and workflow in the architecture studios in the 70s as well as the relationship with investors and building companies. The next part focuses on the individual quarters of Severní Město - Prosek, Ďáblice and Bohnice. It outlines the historical, geographical and urbanistic context of the place, including the architectural and town planning competitions for these areas. The part dealing with the realization and the current state of these residential districts compares and contrasts the individual quarters, points out their unique characteristics and approaches them in a broader context. Analysis of a cultural organisation attendance and marketing methods for its enhancement on example of branch library Praha-Ďáblice

The thesis deals with marketing in the field of cultural organizations, more specifically, of public libraries. The thesis's theoretical part first defines the basic concepts which are related to the mentioned topic. The objective of the thesis is to suggest precise steps which would lead to enhance the usage or the attendance of the branch library Městská knihovna Praha - Ďáblice. This is achieved in the practical part of the thesis, namely by an exploration of the library's marketing tools including its environment, then by an analysis of an unpublished document that was worked out by the library, dealing with some specific information related to all branches' usage, and after all, by evaluating an orientational research that was realized by an virtual questionnaire.
