The new legislation of spatial planning in relation to environmental protection

Presented thesis deals with the new legislation of spatial planning in relation to issues of environmental protection. Spatial planning is one of the most important tool of environmental protection which is regulated in the Czech legal order. The main law governing the issue of spatial planning is the Building Act, which has been extensively changed by the amendment with effect from 1. 1. 2013. The thesis first gives a brief interpretation of basic terminology used in the thesis and explanation of the objectives whose fulfilment is the task of spatial planning activities. Further is explained issue of entities participating in spatial planning focusing on their role in protecting the environment during the spatial planning process. Special attention is paid to the so-called concerned authorities of state administration and the public, because those entities play an important role in promoting environmental protection requirements into the spatial planning tools. In the following chapter is analyses the link between the process of environmental impact assessment and processes of spatial planning. Oil Sands Mining in Alberta: Economic and Environmental Connections

Bituminous sands currently represent a real energy source that could temporarily replace already consumed part conventional sources of crude oil, which decrease. Acquisition of such strategic minerals is much more difficult both economically and technologically and represents a considerable negative impact on the environment. This paper first introduces general characteristics and problems of the crude oil extraction. Briefly describes different types of mining technologies that are used or are under development. Then focuses on an overall assessment of production in terms of economic and environmental aspects. The work focuses on the assessment of positive and negative impacts both on the economy of Canada and the environment, especially in the area of mining in Alberta. Changes of regional and settlement pattern of Serbia after 1991 in the context of the split of Yugoslavia Abstract This thesis presents changes of regional and settlement pattern of Serbia with a special emphasis on migration after war events evoked by splitting of former Yugoslavia in the 90's. It researches age structure of refugees and internally displaced persons and mainly their influence on demographic growth of Serbia and analyses their dependence of their location on chosen geographical and economical indicators. It will also show the situation of refugees in the new millennium considering their repatriation or naturalization. The last part finds out, if there is a noticeable amount of refugee population living in temporary conditions and how works the cooperation between the state and organizations, which are supposed to reduce number of refugees and internally displaced persons. Land grabbing in developing countries

The objective of this study is to give a summary of today's knowledge and information about land grabbing thus about large land acuisitions for agricultural purposes, especially in the developing countries. These investments are led by various reasons, the main reason being economical profit. The most obvious and the most visible impacts fall mainly on poor local residents but also on country's economical development or environment. Besides causes and effects I looked at the total extent of land grabbing as shown by different statistics. In the last chapter I depicted land grabbing on an example of a particular country, namely Mozambique. Especially a possible extent of those land acqusitions and specific effects on population of this country.
