Growing of dried pea in conditions of the Czech Republic
VLČEK, Jiří
The aim of this thesis was to gather informations about the cultivation of dried pea (Pisum sativum L.) in the Czech Republic. This thesis presents in a concise and clear form informations available in a wide array of biological characteristics through soil preparation to planting, harvesting, yields and yield solutions instability of pea. Good result in the cultivation of dried pea is affected by many factors such as purpose of cultivation, selection of suitable land for cultivation, varieties, certified seeds, agricultural technology, proper care about vegetation, including crops and fertilization treatments and ultimately harvest itself. In 2014 pea occupied 72% of the surface of the grain legumes. In the Czech Republic was achieved an average yield of peas in the amount of 2.96 t / ha, which is above average level compared with the last 5 years. Although the trend of growing pea in recent years had a downward trend, the latest numbers shows that it will increase again. I used Czech and foreign authors. I also took advantage of practical experience by agronomist with the cultivation of pea plants on the farm Dnešická zemědělská a.s.
Induction and optimalization out-of-season spawning of spawners pikeperch (Sander lucioperca)
VLČEK, Jakub
In total, 21 pairs of pikeperch brood stock were divided into three groups and used during two out-of-season and one seasonal semi-artificial spawning. The only differences among these three groups were the length of cold water period (CWP) and spawning date. Group of earlier spawning (A) CWP = 122 days, Group of normal spawning (B) CWP = 149 days, Group of late spawning (C) CWP = 223 days). Dates of spawnings A 11.3., B 26.4., C 13.6). There were observed and assessed the main production parameters such us latency, successful spawning, fertilisation and hatching rate etc. in each group and spermatozoa quality (sampled one day after the observed spawning). In Group A and B, 100 % of fish successfully spawned. Fertilisation rate was 59.4 % (Group A) and 80.3 % (Group B). Much worse results were obtained in Group C. Only 42.9 % of fish spawned and the fertilisation rate was zero. There was no difference among the three groups in spermatozoa quality parameters. It means that the poor fertilisation rate in Group C was caused by low egg quality. According to our results we can say that it is possible to successfully spawn pikeperch earlier (before the main spawning season) with comparable result to the natural spawning season. However, it is necessary to find some better way for female stimulation to provide higher egg quality and subsequently higher fertilisation rate.
A Modified Limited-Memory BNS Method for Unconstrained Minimization Derived from the Conjugate Directions Idea
Vlček, Jan ; Lukšan, Ladislav
A modification of the limited-memory variable metric BNS method for large scale unconstrained optimization of the differentiable function $f:{\cal R}^N\to\cal R$ is considered, which consists in corrections (based on the idea of conjugate directions) of difference vectors for better satisfaction of the previous quasi-Newton conditions. In comparison with [11], more previous iterations can be utilized here. For quadratic objective functions, the improvement of convergence is the best one in some sense, all stored corrected difference vectors are conjugate and the quasi-Newton conditions with these vectors are satisfied. The algorithm is globally convergent for convex sufficiently smooth functions and our numerical experiments indicate its efficiency.
Nonlinear Conjugate Gradient Methods

Modifications of nonlinear conjugate gradient method are described and tested.
Variability of MHC class II \recke{beta} gene in Galápagos mockingbirds
VLČEK, Jakub
Understanding the dynamics of functional genetic variability in small populations can have important implications in their conservation. I screened the variation of MHC II gene in Galapagos mockingbirds to evaluate the evolutionary forces that shaped the genetic variation. I found out that genetic drift affected the MHC variation together with a specific form of natural selection. Although the MHC is supposed to be under a pathogen-mediated selection I found no evidence for this theory in the mockingbird study system.

VLČEK, Jiří. Model of shared service centre set up. Brno, 2013. Diploma thesis. Mendel university Brno, Faculty of Business and Economics. The subject of the diploma thesis is to propose model of shared service centre set up. Diploma thesis is using analysis, application and modification of management techniques and application of primary data, gathered from multinational companies from various sectors. Final model is composed from 5 phases, including economical point of view.

The report has three chapters. The chapter 1 summarizes main features of the Ugandan economy relevant for building the FPAS. The chapter 2 presents the structural macroeconomic model and its properties captured by decompositions of variances of the model’s variables in terms of the model shocks and by its impulse-response functions. The chapter also describes Bayesian vector autoregressions used for the near-term forecasting. The chapter 3 evaluates how the models perform empirically. The forecasting power is assessed both in the sample as well as by using an out-of-the-sample comparison with the standard random-walk benchmark. We conclude that the FPAS performs satisfactorily in this comparison.

The report has two chapters. Chapter 1 describes the structural model lies at the heart of the FPAS. It summarizes the main features of the South African economy relevant for building the structural model and describes in detail the most distinctive parts of the model. The chapter concludes with an analysis of the model properties and an interpretation of past economic developments in South Africa through the optic of the model. Chapter 2 evaluates how the FPAS performs empirically. The forecasting power is assessed by in-sample comparison with the standard random-walk benchmark. We conclude that the FPAS performs satisfactorily in this comparison.
