Veselá, Tereza ; Šídlo, Luděk (advisor) ; Havelková, Tereza (referee)
Fertility in Czechia within the polarity of urban vs. rural areas in 1996-2020 Abstract The intensity and timing of fertility have undergone significant development since the early 1990s in Czechia, which can be observed through several demographic indicators of fertility. This bachelor's thesis analyses the difference in the development of fertility intensity and timing between urban and rural municipalities for the entire Czechia and individual districts separately since 1996 to 2020. The theoretical part of the thesis addresses regional differentiation of fertility, fertility trends in the Czechia since the 1990s, and the definition of the concepts of urban and rural areas, based on which the municipalities of the Czechia are divided in the analytical part of the thesis. The aim of this study is to compare the fertility trends between urban and rural areas and identify regions with same or similar values of the resulting demographic indicators. In the analytical part of the thesis, further analysis is conducted on the differences in intensity and timing of fertility for each selected fertility indicator separately, which shows the differentiation of the studied urban and rural dichotomy. Key words: intensity and timing of fertility, urban area, rural area, total fertility rate, mean age of women at birth...
Exploring the Relationship between Customer Experience and Bank Profitability
Veselá, Tereza ; Teplý, Petr (advisor) ; Pavlíček, Jaroslav (referee)
The thesis empirically examines the relationship between customer experience and bank profitability in Central Europe. It combines customer experience and financial data on 50 banks in the Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, Slovakia, and Poland for the 2017-2020 time period. Panel data estimation methods (first differencing, fixed effects, and random effects) combined with pooled OLS estimation and other robustness checks were employed. Followingly, it was possible to identify a positive significant effect of customer experience in the form of the Six Pillars metrics on net interest margin. This finding is in contradiction with the ones of rather scarce literature on this topic, and thus offers a new understanding of the relationship. No evidence was found for associations between customer experience and return on equity or return on assets, a result supported by some researchers but negated by others. The conclusions of this study may be of interest to bank managers by guiding customer experience related investment optimalisation or prospective investors who consider using customer experience to evaluate a firm's profitability potential. JEL Classification C12, C33, G21, L25, M31 Keywords banks, profitability, customer experience, financial analysis, net interest margin, return on equity, return on...

The issues of juvenile criminal justice
Veselá, Tereza ; Hořák, Jaromír (advisor) ; Pelc, Vladimír (referee)
Problems of juvenile justice In my diploma thesis I deal with the issue of criminal justice over youth. Using the research analytical method, I try to describe juvenile delinquency, its causes, the development of juvenile delinquency in our territory and current legislation. I also devote other parts of the work to specific means of sanctioning young people, especially protective upbringing and imprisonment in its unconditional form. I am also subjecting the current legal regulation of these institutes to a comparison with other European regulations, from which we could be inspired when regulating the system of criminal justice over young people. I supplement the theoretical basis with statistics on juvenile delinquency and the administration of juvenile justice in the years 2016-2020 in order to provide an overview of not only the theoretical side, but also current practice. Keywords: Juvenile, youth, offenses, measures, protective upbringing, imprisonment

Veselá, Tereza ; Vytlačilová, Jitka (advisor) ; Macáková, Kateřina (referee)
Vesela T.: Influence of plant biological control on production of secondary metabolites of Papaver somniferum IV. Diploma thesis, Charles University, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Kralove, Department of pharmaceutical botany, Hradec Kralove 2018. In the experimental part of the thesis was studied the influence of plant biological control on the production of the main pharmaceutically usable secondary metabolites of opium poppy (Papaver somniferum L.). The contents of alkaloids morphine, codeine, thebain, papaverine and narcotine were monitored in the capsules and stems. Two poppy varieties, Orbis and Lazur, were selected for the experiment. Half of the plots were treated with the fungicidal biopreparate Polyversum, containing the germinable spores of oomycete Pythium oligandrum. Pythium oligandrum directly attacks the fungal pathogens. It also uses indirect control mechanisms, induces resistance in plants and promotes their growth. The remaining untreated plots served as a reference check. The extract was prepared from the individual samples. Subsequent analysis was performed using high performance liquid chromatography. The results show no positive effect of treatment on the content of all quantified alkaloids in poppy straw. Biosynthesis of alkaloids and Pythium oligandrum activity can be...
