This work deals with calculation and design of synchronous salient pole generator and then the transformation from this machine into so-called hybrid synchronous machine is described. This diploma thesis is done for company Siemens Electric Machines s.r.o. in Drásov. This company provided their design of synchronous salient pole generator. The model of this generator was created in programs RMxprt and Maxwell 2D. Suggestions and models were compared, and their calculated parameters were evaluated. The created model was upgraded to so-called hybrid synchronous generator. Permanent magnets were added in the created model and influence of these additional magnets is going to be analyzed. Tasks of the work are described in more details. in the introduction. The topic of synchronous generator and hybrid synchronous generator in general is described in the theoretical part. The next part of work deals with the design of salient pole generator. In the other part of the work calculation and design of the generator model are described in Ansys program. Furthermore there are some results from program compared with the results from company. Some model parts and other graphic outputs from Ansys program are shown. After that the creation of hybrid synchronous generator is described and created models of hybrid synchronous generators are compared and evaluated.
Study of concentrated winding induction motor
Trn, Ondřej ; Ondrůšek, Čestmír (referee) ; Vítek, Ondřej (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the possibility of using a concentrated winding in an induction motor and the use of copper bars in a rotor cage. The first part of the thesis explains the basic theoretical knowledge of the operation and principle of the induction machine. In this theoretical part we will learn what is actually a concentrated winding and how it is placed on the stator. The second part is focused on the analytical design of the machine with classical distributed winding and with concentrated winding. The third theoretical part is an introduction to the issue of influencing the motor harmonics. The last final part of the thesis shows differences in operational properties of designed machines.
Design of synchronous reluctance motor
Koshelev, Maxim ; Ondrůšek, Čestmír (referee) ; Vítek, Ondřej (advisor)
Master thesis deals with analysis of the definite synchronous reluctance motor with salient poles and design of synchronous reluctance motor with barriers for magnetic flux. The work is divided into five parts. In the first part there is a brief overview of realized synchronous reluctance motor designs and also operating principle of motor of this type is described. The next part contains the basic parameters of the synchronous reluctance motor with salient poles; the parameters were found with analytical calculation. The third part demonstrates verified by means of FEMM results of analytical calculations for linear and nonlinear states and with transient analysis of motor using Ansys Maxwell environment. In the following part results of testing of the synchronous reluctance motor with salient poles are presented as well as the comparation of these results with calculated values and the results of simulations. The closing part of the thesis shows the design of synchronous reluctance motor with barriers for magnetic flux. All obtained parameters were examined using FEMM and Ansys Maxwell. The final version of the proposed motor was analysed when supplied directly by mains and through the converter by Maxwell- Simplorer co-simulation.
Topology optimization of the line-start synchronous machines
Analysis of high-speed induction motor
Klíma, Jiří ; Ondrůšek, Čestmír (referee) ; Vítek, Ondřej (advisor)
This thesis deals with the problem of the high-speed induction machines. In the introduction the design of the machines and problem areas are discussed. The feeding from the frequency converter and the mechanical strength of the rotor appear to be the biggest problem. High-speed engines with solid rotors were designed. The first model is equipped with a conductive cooper layer on the surface. This model is exposed to harmonic and non-harmonic input voltage and then the results of the simulations are compared. The following model of the thesis is equipped with axial slots. In the practical part of the thesis no load measurement is taken. One point was measured at nominal frequency. At the end of the thesis the results of the measurements are compared with the results of the figures extracted from Maxwell software.
Auxiliary winding supplying the voltage regulator of synchronous generator
Hrtáň, Michal ; Hájek, Vítězslav (referee) ; Vítek, Ondřej (advisor)
The theme of this thesis is the design and verification of the auxiliary winding to supply the voltage regulator of the synchronous generator. The synchronous generator for which the auxiliary winding proposed is three-phase, low voltage with double layer random wound stator winding. The generator excitation is brushless with auxiliary rotating exciter. The auxiliary winding is designed for placement in the stator teeth, along with the main winding. The sizing of the auxiliary winding is derived from the power requirements the voltage regulator. Draft winding is validated analytical calculation and finite element method (FEM). The auxiliary winding has been implemented in the production of the generator. The Features of the auxiliary winding have been verified by measuring the by electrical testing room and the test results are evaluated.
Design and analysis of permanent magnet synchronous machines
Blaha, Jan ; Cipín, Radoslav (referee) ; Vítek, Ondřej (advisor)
Characteristics of synchronous machines with permanent magnets depend among others on geometric layout of the machine section. Unlike EC motors, where rectangular arrangement of quantities is suitable, these machines require sinusoidal behaviour. Specific forming of individual machine parts is partially derived from this requirement. This thesis deals with design of such machines, including various geometrical modifications of their sections and examination of influence of those modifications. The thesis includes also analytical calculation procedure of machine parameters as well as verification of final characteristics using the finite element method. It results in a combination of various design methods. FEMM, Maxwell RMxprt and Maxwell 2D Transient Analysis programs were used for verification. Individual modifications of machine geometries are applied to machines with concentrated windings with different ratio of number of slots and poles, and differences between machines and results of individual methods are compared.

Design and optimization of three-phase synchronous generator
Šulák, Ondrej ; Huzlík, Rostislav (referee) ; Vítek, Ondřej (advisor)
My work will not inform you only with the issue of magnetic field, but also with design complications such as: proposal winding, analysis cogging, the machine connection to infinite bus and independent network and their solutions in the design of electrical machine. In the introductory chapter, we tried to offer the most accurate theory of magnetic fields because it is hard to understand that episodes of physical design of the machine is our alpha and omega. Shows the results of the program RMxprt and Maxwell, where we simulate the synchronous machine with the connection nominal load. The results of the program are verified and compared with calculations.
