Plant Alkaloids and Their Effect on the Human Body

Plant alkaloids and their effects on the human body Presented bachelor thesis is focused on a problematic of plant alkaloids and gives general overview about a classification of this interesting group based on the chemical structure andgenesis in plants. The thesis distinguishes three basic groups of alkaloids, i.e., true alkaloids, protoalkaloids and pseudoalkaloids. These groups are detailed classified and characterized following specific biosynthesis patterns of the studied alkaloids (including specific biochemical schemes). Occurrences in plants, mechanism of their effect on human organism, ways of intoxication and contamination and use in a traditional medicine are next criteria for further classification of the studied alkaloids. Specific socio-cultural aspects associated with phenomena of drug addiction are described by the selected groups of alkaloids Figures of plants containing the described alkaloids are attached in appendixes. Nature and Historical Characteristics of the Jizera Mountains

This bachelor thesis describes natural relations and history of the Jizera Mountains. First part is focused on geological and geomorphological processes creating the landscape and also on climatic and hydrological aspects. A second part gives an account of flora, which is a little reduced due to poor mineral subsoil. The exceptions are peat-bogs. These ecological subtypes represent the most valuable and the most important biotope of the Jizera Mountains. There we could discover a lot of unique and protected species of plants and animals. A history of the Jizera Mountains mapping here the settlements from prehistory age to modern times is also described in detail. Neither I do not forget to mention a development of textile and glass industry, which are also very important for this region at the field of economics. The deportation of the Germans after 2nd World War was an essential event resulting in almost complete displacement of the Bohemian border region. People have returned to the mountains due to tourism and a phenomenon of "the summer cottage" at 60th and 70th years of 20th century. A question about protection of the most specific comes out with an increasing quantity of visitors in this area. In the last part of the bachelor thesis is focused on this topic. Dating in Geological Science

The presented Bachelor thesis has a character of a literature search and discusses aspects related to the determination of time in geological sciences. In the broader concept, the thesis can be divided into two major units. The first part describes the geological sciences, which are directly or indirectly related with determining the time, such as historical geology, stratigraphy, paleontology, structural and sedimentary geology. In this part the process of recording geological history of planet Earth is also defined and characterized, including specifications of the geological time scale and historical preview on issue of development in determining the time connected with issues of determining the age of the Earth. The second part of the thesis deals with relative and absolute methods that are used in geological sciences for determining the time. Two main laws of relative dating are presented, i.e. the law of superposition and the law of the same fossils. Absolute radiometric dating methods are briefly described and characterized with respect to their application to geological practice. Multimedia endogenous geology textbook

Work deals with creating multimedia hypertext manual endogenous geology. The first part contains information on the number and level of geological aids and textbooks used in teaching geology at elementary and secondary schools. It charts the level of education and competence of teachers interviewed in the field of geological sciences. Based on the information is a SWOT analysis of selected textbooks. The second section briefly describes the multimedia guide chapter endogenous geology, which was established on the basis of the information about aids, textbooks, the level of knowledge and readiness to teachers of geology at the elementary and secondary schools (grammar schools). Multimedia Manual should serve mainly teachers of geology at high schools as a teaching tool multimedia, as well as students of faculties of education, respectively. faculty involved in preparing the future of specialist teachers of biology as a multimedia textbook, but also to other teachers and those interested in geology. The objective of this multimedia and hypertext handbook is to contribute to the improvement of teaching geology at the elementary and secondary schools. Complete versions of mentioned media guide is only available on the DVD.

Coal Mining and Subsequent Reclamation of the Landscape in Area of the Sokolov Basin A bachelor thesis is focused on a detailed analysis of existing and published data sources dealing with coal mining and subsequent reclamation of landscape in the studied area of the Sokolov Basin. The main aim is general characteristic of the consequences of mining in the studied area including a detailed description of the specific types of reclamations. The thesis contains also detailed characteristics of done or still processed reclamations at sites of the Sokolov Basin, i.e., mines of Michal, Medard-Libík, Družba and Jiří.

School Field Lectures of the Natural Science in the Vicinity of Bílina Town (Bořeň hill, Chateau Park and Bezovka Valley, Spa Park)

1 ABSTRACT: The master thesis presents characteristics of the three localities around the Bílina town, i.e. Bořeň Hill, Bílina Castle park with Bezovka Walley and Bílina Spa garden, as an objects of field education focusing on general natural science, biology and geology. It includes integrated didactic materials that are suitable for realization of the field excursions during every season. The excursions are designed to be applicable for pupils of second grade of elementary school, eight-years gymnasium, eventually for free time activities of child leaded by natural history oriented organizations. The materials can be also used as the base of the pedagogical work within the "Environmental Training, Education and Culture" system. The suggested excursion guides include methodological description, worksheets, didactic games and other supporting materials. As a case study the excursion to Bílina Spa garden has been evaluated by three pupils' groups in the age interval from 8 to 17 years. Current view on the biology of theropod dinosaurs

This bachelor thesis hes summarised available data from morphology, anatomy, ecology, ethology, ontogeny and phylogeny of theropod representatives of the clade Dinosauria that are based on the recent results deriving from the application of modern scientific methods and technologies. Main methods are laser scanning, computed tomography, electron microscope analysis and virtual and physical model reconstruction. Application of these results have changed radically historical and dogmatic point of view on this fascinating group of dinosaurs that had ruled on the Earth for more than 150-million years. Předkládaná bakalářská práce je rešeršního typu a je tematicky zaměřena na pohyby rostlin. Práce se dělí na dva základní celky. První z nich se podrobně zaměřuje na teoretické poznatky o pohybech rostlin získané z české a zahraniční literatury. Pohyby rostlin jsou v ní rozděleny na pasivní a aktivní a jsou detailně popsány. Pasivní pohyby jsou dále děleny podle druhu působícího činitele. Aktivní pohyby se dále dělí na fyzikální a vitální podle toho, zda je mohou vykonávat živé nebo odumřelé části rostlin. V druhé části jsou vypracované návrhy praktických úloh a jejich ověření v praxi souvisejících s tématem pohybů rostlin. Součástí druhé části jsou také výukové prezentace pro žáky středních škol a pro odborné semináře v rámci výuky na gymnáziích.

Proposal of the Geological Trails in the Area of the Rychleby Mts.

Title: The proposal of the Geological Trails in the Area of the Rychleby Mts. Abstract: This thesis is devoted to draft for new nature trails in the area of the Rychleby Mts. with a specific focus on geology. The proposed trails are preceded by detailed characteristics of geomorphology, geology and stratigraphy of the studied area. The trails are located in two areas, i. e. the northern part of the Rychleby Mts. (Račí údolí - Zálesí - Javorník) and Žulová highlands (Around Žulová pluton). The first mentioned trail is designed in two levels of difficulty for elementary and secondary schools. The trail are supplemented by specific guidebooks, worksheets and the "Didactic recommendation for teachers", which included general didactic recommendations, next detailed information about the trails and suggestions for other additional activities. The trails had been verified in practice on students, amateurs and experts. Anthe effectiveness of the trails was evaluated through surveys with participants. It has been proved that the trails are suitable complement of education process mainly for natural science and the trails are also useful for non-educational leisure activities for visitors of these areas. A Multimedia Atlas of Cuticular Recent Seeding Plants

Jako téma své diplomové práce jsem si zvolila zpracování kutikul vybraných recentních semenných rostlin. S touto problematikou jsem se poprvé seznámila ve druhém ročníku pedagogické fakulty na odborném semináři vedeným doktorem Teodoridisem. Jelikož mě toto téma zaujalo, rozhodla jsem se jej zpracovat do diplomové práce s důrazem kladeným na multimediální atlas kutikul recentních semenných rostlin. Kutikulární analýza je velmi specifické téma, proto i využití mé práce je doplňkovým materiálem pro studenty biologie na pedagogické fakultě nebo pro studenty středních škol, jako rozšiřující informativní učivo. Tato práce navazuje na diplomové práce kolegů Mgr. Jindřicha Částky a Mgr. Pavla Vávry, kteří zpracovali využití makro a mikrofotografie ve výuce anatomie a morfologie rostlin ve svých diplomových pracích z roku 2003 (Částka 2003, Vávra 2003). Celá práce je členěná do dvou částí. První část je teoretická a zabývá se vlastní metodou kutikulární analýzy, historií vzniku, typy metod kutikulární analýzy, dále anatomickou stavbou listu a popisem postupu preparační techniky kutikulární analýzy. Druhá část se zabývá systematikou a vlastním popisem jednotlivých kutikul. Tato práce je prvním pokusem o vytvoření atlasu kutikul recentních semenných rostlin, proto byla také podpořena grantem č. 3239/2004-IV.-GAUK....
