The media influence on children and youth

The bachelor thesis is about the phenomenon of digital media and their impact and role in contemporary society. The aim of this work is to describe the changes related to the influence of the digital media on society in particular - the one connected to children and adolescents. The theme is to define its status with an emphasis on youth development issues. The thesis evaluates changes in leisure time activities and describes social pathologies which occur relating to digital media and the influence of digital technologies and media on the current generation of adolescents. Research aims to find out how and how much time adolescents spend on the internet and how digital media influence them by using quantitative research. Social relations of foster home's children

The bachelor thesis refers to the issue of social relations in children's homes. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part is focused on the main concepts and topics, which include characteristics of children's homes, detailed description of life in a children's home and specifics of children from the children's home with attention to their emotionality, sociability and also to the representation of multiculturalism in children's homes. The practical part describes a research that aimed at the determination of how social relations are developed in children's homes, how children evaluate these relationships and what approach is used for developing ethnical identity of children from different cultures than the major culture. The research was conceived as a mixture of several methods and performed in a selected children's home in the Central Bohemia Region. The research involved 50 children who filled- in a customized questionnaire as well as 8 tutors who were interviewed with using semi- structured interview methods. The data obtained from the questionnaire were analyzed using basic statistic methods whereas the theory of open coding was used to analyze the interview data. Class teacher to 2. grade of elementary school

The diploma thesis deals with the content of work of class teachers at the 2nd level of elementary schools. The aim of the thesis is to describe the content of the work and the legislative definition of the function of class teacher on the basis of professional literature, its competences necessary for the performance of this function and the duties connected with it. In the theoretical part is described the development and legal definition of the teaching profession. Furthermore, classroom function, class social structure and possible methods of pupil discipline support. The research part describes and analyzes the experience of class teachers with whom the interview was conducted, monitoring their perception of this function, positive and negative experiences. The purpose of the interviews is to penetrate deeper into the current problems of class teachers and to learn how they are currently facing them. The conclusion of the thesis is an analysis of these experiences. Tolerance in a multicultural societytraining

The aim of this thesis is to examine a degree of tolerance of students of selected secondary schools in the region to ethnic communities. It encounters and considers factors that affect and shape their attitudes. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with analysing and explaining of these terms - multicultural society, development of multicultural society, migration, ethnic community, characteristics of ethnic communities in the Czech Republic, culture, and traditions, coexistence with ethnic communities and integration. In the research part, it concerns with processing of survey attitudes of high school students from ethnic communities, with a focus on the Islamic community, and the current immigration crisis. The investigation focuses on the personal attitudes of students and their knowledge, both through multicultural education at school and through the media and social networks, which now play a major role in shaping the attitudes of young people. The research is completed with short case studies based on open-question questionary Finally, it presents some examples from multicultural education at high school and its contribution to shaping values and attitudes of students.
