Determination of Vuppor admixture for the refractory light weighting bodies
Svobodová, Markéta ; Keršner, Štěpán (referee) ; Sokolář, Radomír (advisor)
Lightweight refractory products are materials used for the construction of certain parts of industrial furnaces, especially for iron, but also in other sectors where is operated with high temperatures. There are special requests on refractories. The theoretical part contains an overview of used raw materials, production and properties of lightweight refractory products and description of not burnable lightener - chemical additives VUPPOR I and information about previously conducted trials dealing with these topics. The practical part is divided into four parts, which are evaluated by tests which were performed on a refractory clay with chemical additive Vuppor I (samples are lightened and not lightened) - it was primarily a test of sensitivity to drying, density, compressive strength, thermal insulating properties, etc.
Biomechanical analysis of bone implant contact for different type of implant profiles
Svobodová, Miriam ; Chamrad, Jakub (referee) ; Marcián, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the assessment of the influence of the dental implant diameter placed in the bone with a fixed connection between the bone and the given implant on the strain into the bones around the implant, the deformation throughout the system and the stress in the implant. Computational modeling with finite element analysis was used to solve a given task. Two types of the implants with different diameters and bone model with a beam structure and different layer thickness around the implant were modeled. Used material was homogeneous, isotropic and linearly flexible. The overall analysis was carried out at the 2D level. The results show different values for different diameters and thickness of the layers.

The thesis introduces model examples of the application of expenditure as a percentage of income and the use of the flat tax. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the tax and levy burden when using the flat tax and when applying expenditure as a percentage of income. The thesis concludes with a recommendation for a flat tax.
Study and Evaluation of Topically Applied Ceramides onto Disrupted Skin Barrier
Svobodová, Marie ; Kováčik, Andrej (advisor) ; Vraníková, Barbora (referee)
Department of Pharmaceutical Technology Author: M S b S , Ph.D. Title of diploma thesis: Study and Evaluation of Topically Applied Ceramides onto Disrupted Skin Barrier Skin is the largest organ of the human body and serves several key functions, such as protection against external influences and regulation of body temperature. Healthy skin is able to maintain the integrity and stability of the organism due to its complex structure. The skin is composed of several layers of cells, including the stratum corneum (SC), which forms the main protective barrier. Ceramides (CER) are one of the main types of barrier lipids found in the SC. These lipid molecules, along with other lipids, create a hydrophobic matrix that protects the skin from dehydration and other external influences. The lack of CER in the skin barrier leads to the disruption of its function and the worsening of the skin condition. This is associated with many diseases, such as dermatitis, psoriasis, and others. The study of CER in the SC is important to understand the mechanisms of skin protection and to develop new therapeutic approaches for the treatment of skin diseases. Topical administration of barrier lipids, especially CER, is one possible treatment route for skin diseases. Therefore, the aim of this work was to prepare...
Acoustic parameters of the speech signal and their intra- and interindividual variability in Czech
Houzar, Alžběta ; Skarnitzl, Radek (advisor) ; Volín, Jan (referee) ; Hes Svobodová, Marie (referee)
The doctoral thesis focuses on the variability of a wide range of acoustic parameters of the speech signal in the Czech language. It summarizes the methodological approaches applied in previous studies on the acoustic characteristics of speech and presents a comprehensive analysis of intra-speaker and inter-speaker variability of an extensive set of selected parameters through original experiments conducted using a unified speech material. The individual experiments examined acoustic parameters that characterize fundamental frequency, vowel formants, short- and long-term frequency spectrum, and the temporal domain of speech, employing a total of 61 metrics. The variability of all parameters was observed within an individual's speech during one type of utterance as well as in relation to speaking style, with recordings of both read and spontaneous speech from thirty speakers being analyzed. Based on the experimental results, information regarding the distribution of parameter values in both speaking styles within the given population was obtained. In the final experiment, a comprehensive analysis of all investigated parameters was conducted, focusing on their mutual relationships and their contribution to the overall variability of the speech signal. The results of this comprehensive analysis...
The role of mitochondrial DNA in reproduction
Svobodová, Mariana ; Daňková, Pavlína (advisor) ; Jelínková, Ladislava (referee)
The bachelor's thesis focuses on the role of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) in human reproduction, especially describing the differences in mtDNA dynamics in oogenesis, spermatogenesis and early embryo development. The physiological function of mtDNA is complemented by its pathologies and their effect on fertility and the ability of the embryo to implant successfully. Furthermore, mtDNA is discussed as a possible diagnostic marker in the evaluation of the quality of sperm, eggs and embryos. These findings of these studies are especially significant for assisted reproduction, where the goal is to select the highest quality embryo with the greatest implantation potential. The work also briefly mentions the presence of cell free mtDNA in the mother's blood and its connection with the development of preeclampsia. Key words: mtDNA, mitochondria, reproduction, (in)fertility
Merger regulation of killer acquisitions under European competition law in European and international comparison
Jakob, Sebastian ; Šmejkal, Václav (advisor) ; Svobodová, Magdaléna (referee)
1 English abstract Merger regulation of killer acquisitions under European competition law in European and international comparison Collen Cunningham, along with her colleagues, introduced a novel theory of harm known as a "killer acquisition" in her paper titled "Killer Acquisitions." A killer acquisition involves an already well-established market player acquiring a potential competitor with the intent to discontinue the acquired innovation project. The primary objective of such an acquisition is to eliminate potential competition that might arise from the innovative project of the acquired competitor. Typically, the potential targets of such scenarios are innovative start-ups that do not generate sufficient turnover to trigger the notification threshold employed in the EU, which relies solely on the turnover of merging parties. As a result, the European Commission sought other ways to assert jurisdiction over such transactions, most notably through the utilization of Article 22 of the Merger Regulation. However, it is argued that the current system of merger control at the European level is not bulletproof and a potential enforcement gap necessitating an amendment of the Merger Regulation exists. Consequently, several alternative criteria have been analysed, namely, the market-share test used in Spain...
Late transposition phenomenon in the Czech Republic
Říha, Michal ; Pítrová, Lenka (advisor) ; Svobodová, Magdaléna (referee) ; Plaňavová-Latanowicz, Jana (referee)
LATE TRANSPOSITION PHENOMENON IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC The implementation of European law is a necessary precondition for the functionality of European integration. However, while the Union institutions carry out the legislative work, the implementation of European law is a task for the Member States. They must adapt their legal systems accordingly and enforce EU rules effectively. In the case of directives, the basic condition for their effectiveness is transposition into national law, which usually requires to propose a new act of Parliament. The Czech Republic has long been one of the countries with a high proportion of late transposition of EU directives. Despite the generally accepted claim that the culprit of these transposition failures lays in the Czech Parliament, research refutes such views. Although the Chamber of Deputies is relatively autonomous from the Government, its deliberations are lengthy, and the Chamber of Deputies' Rules of Procedures offers only a limited range of instruments to guide parliamentary deliberations, transposition delays occur already at the executive level. This is even though the Czech Republic has a series of robust measures to improve the planning of implementation works, but these are not enforced in practice. Presented research is based on data on the legislative...
