Nurses and their problems at work connected with their motherhood

The study is summarizing circumstances under which nurses come from their maternity leave back to their jobs in the particular hospital. The theoretical part is dealing with problems in families, gender irregularities and, above all, employing mothers with small children. Also some specific features in nursing jobs are described, plus legal normatives of the national or international law connected with the main thesis of this study. In the practical part, the qualitative research is presented, based on strategy of the so called grounded theory. The results show analyzed interviews with nurses-mothers of children in their pre-school age working at the Central Military Hospital in Prague. The proposed theory brings conditions under which nurses with small children come back to work successfully. Final recommendations should make the process of coming back to work easier for nursesmothers after their maternity leave and increase their chance in their comeback to the particular hospital.

The impact of selected sesquiterpenes on the activity of antioxidant enzymes in the differentiated Caco-2 cell line

It is a modern trend to buy more and more often a variety of herbal food supplements in order to strengthen or restore human health. Many scientists have been researching Myrica rubra plant for its potential therapeutic effects. In our research we used sesquiterpenes isolated from this plant, in order to determine their effects on the activity levels of antioxidant enzymes in a differentiated Caco-2 cell line derived from intestinal epithelium tumor that have maintained characteristics of healthy cells. Caco-2 cells are being used as a basis for testing of substances and their effects on non-cancerous cells. The cells were incubated for 24 and 48 hours with a concentration 25 µg/ml of tested substances. Essential oil from Myrica rubra and selected individual sesquiterpenes (α- humulene, β-caryophyllene and trans-nerolidol) were chosen to be tested. Pragmatism and neopragmatism as possible epistemological approaches in library and information science

Tématem práce je charakteristika filosofických přístupů - pragmatismu a neopragmatismu a možnosti jejich aplikace ve výzkumech knihovnictví a informační vědy. Základní myšlenky pragmatismu jsou ilustrovány na koncepcích jeho hlavních představitelů - Charlese S. Peirce, Williama Jamese a Johna Deweyho. Neopragmatismus je charakterizován na hlavních přínosech soudobého amerického filosofa Richarda Rortyho. Cílem práce je představit tyto přístupy jako vhodné koncepce pro knihovnictví a informační vědu, protože na rozdíl od převládajících pozitivistických tendenci nabízejí komplexnější pohled na problematiku oboru a přinášejí nové směry pro další výzkum.

Impact of Quality Management and Lean Six Sigma Practical on leanness level of organizations in Czech Republic

The aim of this work is to determine a methodology to measure the leanness level of the organizations that have an internship in the framework of the minor specialization of Quality Management and Lean Six Sigma at University of Economics. The theoretical part of the Thesis presents issues of Lean Six Sigma methodology, describes basic characteristics and main Lean Six Sigma tools. The Thesis also describes process of a research, on which was applied the proposed measurement methodology of an internship impact on organizations. The research methodology describes leanness measurement approach, process of data collection and its subsequent analysis and evaluation. The last chapter includes conclusion of results, suggestions and recommendations to improve Quality Management and Lean Six Sigma Practical.

The influence of nutrition on the incidence of obesity among children aged 10 - 15 years.

The main aim of this thesis was identify nutritional status, especially the incidence of overweight and obesity among children aged 10 - 15 years and evaluate the qualitative and quantitative aspects of eating, eating habits and regularity of eating in relationship to physical parameters. This research deals with the frequency and type of physical activity, which is also an integral part of a healthy lifestyle. The research was conducted at children´s department in Klaudián´s hospital in Mladá Boleslav, in the presence of person, who was carried out this research. Data collection was carried out by filling questionnaires and real measurements of physical parameters or using data measured in the doctor´s office. Obtained anthropometric data were analyzed by using percentile graphs. Questions regarding eating and physical activities were evaluated separately. It was found that 16,25 % of the 80 examined individuals were overweight and 22,50 % obese. It was found that the BMI and subsequent inclusion in the percentile graphs correlates well with the values of the waist circumference.The link between diet and the prevalence of overweight or obesity was not proven. The most commonly consumed inappropriate nutrition component are sweetened beverage. Half of individuals do physical activity at least 3 times a week. H1 hypothesis, which assumed the prevalence of obesity among examined individuals greater than 13 % was confirmed. It also was confirmed hypothesis H3, which was supposed to sweetened drinks daily drinking less than one third of respondents. Other hypotheses H2 and H4 were rejected.The research confirmed the current trend of increasing prevalence of overweight and obesity. At the same time, there was found deficiency in the quality of consumed food and the frequency of physical activity. Nutrition and principles of healthy eating are not the only one cause of this problem, although they have large share on development of overweight and obesity.

The object of this work is urban and architectural design of built-up plots on the edge of the historic centre and housing estate in Valašské Meziříčí new object. Designed object closes the city block and defines the part of streets Sokolská and Poláškova. But it allowes to go through at the same time. It creates a new street that extense the current one - the axis to the Square.

It was the place of mighty fortification, the part of conception of ring avenue with parks, impressive German house with park. The park with the fountain which form was red five-pointed star. And what is Moravian square now? And what it can to be?
