Medical care and treatment for pain -theory and research

This study presents problems of assessment and monitoring of pain. Among other things, the study took into consideration different aspects of nursing care in several intensive care internal units. It is divided into two parts. The first part (theoretical) concerns pain directly, e.g. typologies, diagnostics, assessment, treatment, nurse's role and ethical aspects. The second part (practical) concerns the methods of assessment and monitoring of pain, compares nurse's opinions and the level of their knowledge about aspects of pain. Information for analyses were drawn from the survey carried out amongst nurses. The results of this study will help to improve nursing care to patients in hospitals. Miluše Kulhavá Institute of Theory and Practice of Nursing 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague This bachelor thesis deals with education in primary care, specifically the education which takes place in the offices of general practitioners for children and adolescents. The theoretical part focuses on the history of pedagogy and education, the detailed description of the educational processes in primary care in pediatrics and educational issues related to this field. In the empirical part, I used the methods of quantitative research. Goal of the research was to clarify the implementation of education in primary care in the offices of general practitioners for children and adolescents to determine whether the parents of children under 6 years (patients / clients of primary care) are provided with sufficient information regarding the care for their child and if that information is provided, who passes the information, whether the education takes place under appropriate conditions, through suitable mediums and whether the information is sufficient and for parents easy to understand. Perception registered nurse on the part of other health professions

Aim of the bachelor's work were first to investigate how the profession of general nurse is taken in notice with other medical professions including doctors and non-medical workers in multidisciplinarian team. Second, to discuss the relationship during cooperation between other medical workers and general nurses. Third, compare the profession of general nurse in faculty hospital and in city hospital. Theoretical part determines term of "taking in notice", its characteristics, and discuss various factors related with taking in the notice during multidisciplinary cooperation . In the work I briefly describe history and actual situation in general nursing profession. Presented work is focused on qualificative personal and legislative predispositions of general nursing profession and other medical professions. Experimental part shows quantitative metod of data collection using request form including data collection, administration and investigation of returned data. In conclusion, evaluation of hypothesis correlated with aims of the bachelor's work is performed. Attitudes to Smoking Prevention

Synopsis The subject of the bachelor thesis "Attitudes to smoking prevention" is the analysis of attitudes of secondary medical schools in Prague and of their students towards preventing smoking. The first part of the thesis summarizes the historical and contemporary view on the subject of smoking from a general standpoint and it emphasizes the negative effect of smoking on the human organism. The thesis also mentions preventative measures and health programs. The second part is based on my own research and it contains a comparison of two secondary medical schools and also an analysis of said research. Here I deal with the view of students on the issue of smoking in particular and list my own practical suggestions.
