The Development of the Green Party in the Cz. Rep. Between the Years 2000 and 7

This thesis deals with the origin and evolution of the Czech Green Party to 2007. Despite the fact that after the revolution in 1989 everything suggested that the Greens might significantly influence the political scene, their preferences were moving around 1 % throughout the nineties. The year 2002 was the turning point, when the party reached state support in the elections to the 'Parliament. In 2003, ecological activists Beránek and Patočka held the head position in the party. Gradually, a strong intra-party opposition grew against them, and in 2005 Martin Bursik was elected the party chairman. Under his leadership, an upward tred of the party could be observed: after half a year of his presidency the Greens got into Parliament 75 and, after complex negotiations, to the government. This was also caused by an unprecedented political orientation to the right wing of the political spectrum.

Matter of Totalitarism in Hannah Arendt's Works

The aim of the bachelor's thesis as well as its primary source is the book The O, igins of Totalitarianism by a German philosopher and political thinker Hannah Arendt. The thesis deals with questions of Nazism and Stalinism as two main totalitarian regimes of the fírst half of the 20,h century. It compares their historical and ideological basis, their évolution and detailed structure. It also deals with historical-political events that enabled their rise on the political scene. In terms of their similarities it describes the main characteristics of totalitarianism and at the same time it tries to give an overall insight into this political phenomena as well as the possibility of its application within contemporary and future social and political situation.

Historical development of Britisch Labour Party since 1900 to 2001

The diploma thesis describes the development of British Labour Party from its foundation in 1900 to the end of the first term of Tony Blair's government. The work focuses on the ideological development of the party in historical context. The party was founded as a left-wing organisation, supporting the working class, collaborating with trade unions and its main aim was nationalization of the means of production and establishing of socialism in Britain. The party left this aim at the end of 20th century by the revision of its constitution it claimed to be a modern social democracy, which supports capitalism. The kernel of the problems is in the so called "revisionist era", i.e. from 50th of 20th century to 90th of 20th century, when Blair became a leader. Then the party was labeled as New Labour Party and it introduced itself as an organisation with its own concept of the Third Way. The work is based mainly on publications of British political scientists, whose works have not been translated yet into a Czech language.

Comparison of Current Political Systems of France and the Czech Republic with a Focus on Presidential Election and Presidential Powers

Cílem této diplomové práce, vyplývajícím již z jejího zadání, je přiblížit fungování ústavních orgánů Francouzské a České republiky, a především pak postavení prezidentů v obou státech. V první části diplomové práce pojednám obecně o politickém systému, dělbě moci a typologii politických systémů. Následovat budou kapitoly věnované Francii. Nejprve se zaměřím na počátky V. republiky, pokračovat budu přehledem ústavních orgánů. Pokusím se přiblížit fungování moci zákonodárné, výkonné a soudní. Samostatná kapitola bude věnována prezidentovi republiky. Ve stejném duchu budou členěny i kapitoly o České republice. V poslední kapitole se pokusím o vlastní srovnání obou prezidentů. The Mass-media, the Political Sphere and Media Education

Naše práce si dala za úkol několik cílů. Prvním cílem byl náhled do problematiky médií a politické komunikace. Popsali jsme některé důležité aspekty médií, které zahrnují jak omezení dané technologií, tak omezení organizační. Shrnuli jsme současný stav teorie mediální a politické komunikace, včetně styčných ploch mezi těmito dvěma disciplínami. Bohužel tento současný stav a omezený prostor této práce nedovolují zevrubnější náhled do problematiky a formulaci jasnějších závěrů. Na druhou stranu jsme využili více zdrojů a přístupů pro identifikaci účinků mediálního sdělení a popsali několik způsobů, jakými se média snaží zajistit objektivitu i několik strategií, jak lze sdělení pozměnit tak, aby místo neutrálního vyznění ovlivňovalo příjemce. Cíl, který jsme si stanovili jako druhý v pořadí, lze shrnout jako popis procesu, kterým prochází mediální sdělení. Vytvořili jsme vlastní schéma, podle kterého jsme odvíjeli analýzu jednotlivých částí procesu. Pomocí příkladů uvedených v literatuře se nám podařilo nastínit možné problematické partie jednotlivých účastníků tohoto procesu a i když jsme zdaleka nevyčerpali všechny otázky, které se nabízejí, zmínili jsme všechny důležité momenty. The Globalization of the World Economy

Ve své diplomové práci jsem se snažila najít závislost mezi umístěním vybraných států na globalizačním indexu a obsahem jejich magických čtyřúhelníků. Co se týká umístění na globalizačním indexu vycházela jsem pouze z údajů, tak jak byl tento index sestaven časopisem Foreign Policy, aniž bych dále komentovala či porovnávala pořadí států na tomto indexu. U vybraných devíti států jsem získala všechny potřebné údaje (růst HDP, míra inflace, míra nezaměstnanosti a saldo obchodní bilance) z let 2003 a 2004, které jsem za oba roky převedla do grafického znázornění magických čtyřúhelníků s následným výpočtem obsahů těchto čtyřúhelníků. Z výsledků je patrné, že jsou státy, příkladem je Singapur, které stojí vysoko na globalizačním indexu a stejně tak i obsah jejich magických čtyřúhelníků za oba sledované roky je mezi prvními.
