Physiotherapy at the department of chronic resuscitation and intensive care
Sobotka, Daniel ; Drábková, Jarmila (advisor) ; Smolíková, Libuše (referee)
The principal aim of the thesis titled "Physiotherapy at Chronic Intensive Care Unit" (CICU) is to describe and analyze the not much known area of physiotherapy at the CICU and the various methods of its utilization. The thesis is structured in order to deal with the system at CICU, the typology of patients, physiotherapeutic methods and the ventilator modes. The patient should be taken care of by the multidisciplinary team which should cooperate in order to achieve a common goal - consecutive weaning followed by the liberating from the ventilator's support. The chapters about ergotherapy and psychological effects complete the overview of the topic. Practical part of the thesis consists of the survey file which represent the patient-family-doctor-physiotherapist point of view. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Magnetic resonance imaging of the respiratory and postural function of the diaphragm
Rychnovský, Tomáš ; Kučera, Miroslav (advisor) ; Smolíková, Libuše (referee) ; Novák, Daniel (referee)
Objective: The goal of the thesis was to objectify changes of the diaphragm motion and shape in a different tasks using dynamic MRI in volunteers with pathological structural finding of the spine and the control group. Methods: Two groups of volunteers were made, those without pathological finding (n=16) and with structural pathological finding of the spine (n=17). We analyzed diaphragm function in three different tasks in all the volunteers during 1) primary breathing, 2) breathing in the course of lower extremities flexion against resistance and 3) holding the breath in the course of lower extremities flexion against resistance. Diaphragm activity was analyzed using static a dynamic parameters. For the first time ever was used postural and respiratory trace, which were separated from dynamic MRI recording. The thesis analyses frequency and amplitude of the respiratory and postural activity (independent on breathing) and their relationship. Furthermore the thesis evaluates breathe in and breathe out rotation, diaphragm excursion magnitude, inclination of the diaphragm, its height in thorax and also diaphragm motion within its different portion. Results: Diaphragm respiratory and postural changes are slower, bigger in size and better balanced in volunteers group without pathological spinal finding....
Care of ventilator-dependent patient with spinal cord injury in Czech republic
Plecháčková, Kristýna ; Smolíková, Libuše (referee) ; Mojžíšová, Marta (advisor)
Thesis "Care of ventilator-dependent patienl wilh spinal cord injury in Czech republic" deals with problems of high cervica\ spinal cord les ion wilh diaphragm para\ysis. Generally introduces clinical manifestation of the spinal cord injury, classifícation of spinal cord lesions and statistical data regarding the incidence, prevalence and etiology. In more detail focuses on respiratory problems. Contains survey of most conunon respiratory complications in ventilator-dependent quadriplegic patients and infonn about the possibililies of respiralory physiotherapy. The practical part provides the first description of the Czech population of pentaplegics. Truough case studies indroduces health and livíng conditíons of persons wíth high spinal cord lesion and need of mechanical ventilation. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Prevention of back pain in adults using a computer
Žbánková, Marie ; Ježková, Martina (advisor) ; Smolíková, Libuše (referee)
Computers in modern times have become part of our lives, but apart from benefits they bring many medical complications as well. This paper provides a brief overview of existing knowledge and studies, dealing with back pain in the adult population working with computers. In the theoretical part, the emphasis is on prevention and treatment of back pain, which is very intertwined. The practical part presents the results of research, which had the form of a checklist answered by 50 men and 73 women. The results show high prevalence of back pain of computer users, many differences are to be found in the characteristics of pain of men and women, ages and dependence of pain intensity on movement habits of respondents. The work points to the significance of the problem, which is important for the society. It stresses the need for an active approach of computer users and their employers. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and condition of lower limb
Zůna, Petr ; Smolíková, Libuše (advisor) ; Máček, Miloš (referee)
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is serious illness which prevails more often in last decades. The main reason why this happen is smoking epidemic and worse environment. Beside primary impacts on respiratory system, COPD has some secondary non-respiratory consequences. The most serious of them is muscle dysfunction, which affects lower limb muscles the most. The aim of this work is to summarize the knowledge of functional, structural and metabolic changes in lower limb muscles and their etiology. Then we discuss general concepts of curing COPD and practical possibilities of medical affection of muscle dysfunction by applying rehabilitation programs. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Oprions of balance examination in children
Zemlerová, Hana ; Zounková, Irena (advisor) ; Smolíková, Libuše (referee)
The aim ofthe work was gather to information about investigative positions, operations and tests foeused on the equilibrium funetion. At the beginning the work speaks generally about balanee fubetion and their development in ehildhood. ln a speeial part of my work foeuses on investigative methods to be used in ehildren. From clinieal examination methods work deals with statie, dynamie testing as well as batteries oftests. For statie tests, the work turns on positions from an upright standing pos ition. Dynamie tests are foeused primarily on a modifled walking. Then the paper deals with instrumentation objeetive balanee funetion testing. Finally, this thesis work is based on the retrieval ofdata eolleetion. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
The contemporary view of muscle dysbalances of the upper-crossed-syndrome type
Tetřevová, Eva ; Babková, Lenka (referee) ; Smolíková, Libuše (advisor)
The thesis "Contemporary perspective on muscle imbalance of upper -crossed syndrom "deals with its etiology, then with kinesiological content and therapy principles in its background research. This problem is approached from the Czech and world point of view. The clinical experiment compares muscle activity with tendency to hyperreactivity linked to this type of imbalance in the group of patients suffering from respiratory disorders to control group of healthy probands. Sitting position, stand and stand with shoulder flexion are examined kinetic sequences whose selection was the result of their numerous representation in everyday life. Muscle imbalance of upper-crossed syndrom is present and chronically fixed in patients. Surface electromyography /sEMG/ is used as an objectivization method. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
