Human resource management in healthcare
SVAČINOVÁ, Tereza
This bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of human resources management in a specific hospital in Jindřichův Hradec and the proposal of changes for the improvement of this system. In the theoretical part, HR activities are described individually. Then, these theoretical parts are elaborated into questions in a questionnaire survey concerning the satisfaction of employees with selected activities. There are 784 employees working in the health sector at Hradec Kralove Hospital. The questionnaire survey concerns nurses, medical laboratory assistants, midwives and orderlies. Data was collected for approximately 2 weeks from 103 respondents for the necessary research. The results are then described statistically using the percentage of each response. The resulting suggestion of possible recommendations, to improve the current situation, is forwarded to the human resource management of the selected hospital.
Economic performance of the EU vis-a-vis the USA
Marek, Lukáš ; Urban, Luděk (advisor) ; Svačinová, Tereza (referee)
Diploma thesis "Economic performance of the EU vis-à-vis the USA" deals with the issue of EU economic underperformance vis-à-vis the US economic efficiency. This negative trend can be observed since the early 70's. The analysis is based on the assumption that the economic gab between both economies rests on structural grounds. This paper focuses on two areas, which are important for economic growth in the EU. Firstly, it is the economic competition in the Common market. This theme is directly related to the process of European economic integration. The analysis indicates that good market accessibility for competitors stimulates productivity growth in the respective industry. However, firms in the Common market have to face higher barriers to entry and exit than their counterparts in the US. The second field of study deals with research and development in the member states. Present endogenous growth theories assume that technological progress is a crucial factor of long-term economic growth. European Common market should therefore create conditions favourable to business funded R&D so that more and better innovations can be introduced in Europe. However, the analysis indicates that the economic gab between the EU and the US takes place not just due to underdeveloped ICT and biotechnology sector. A great deal...
Formation of national position on Wine Reform within Common Agricultural Policy: a case of the concept of Multi-level governance? (example of France)
Svačinová, Tereza ; Rovná, Lenka (advisor) ; Šlosarčík, Ivo (referee) ; Lacina, Lubor (referee)
This thesis examines the applicability of the theoretical concept of Multilevel governance through a case study of the European Union's Common Agricultural Policy, more specifically a case study of the reform of the Common Market Organisation for Wine. The study focuses on the creation of the French national position regarding this reform. The primary aim is to determine whether the behaviour of the actors involved in the negotiation process corresponds conforms to the principles of the MLG concept. A secondary aim of the study is to identify the national particularities that could have an impact on certain aspects of the MLG concept. Since several of these aspects have not been proved in France because of the strong influence of national particularities, supplementary research has been done in the Czech Republic. In this country also, some aspects of the MLG concept were not applied. The thesis reaches the conclusion that the concept of MLG is applicable in the case of the negotiation process for the reform of the CMO for Wine even though some principles of MLG were not confirmed. This lack of applicability was caused by the influence of certain particularities of the country which are not engaged in the theoretical framework of the MLG concept. It is recommended that the possible influence of national...
Lisabon Strategy and Its Implementation in Czech Republic
Vávrová, Berenika ; Urban, Luděk (advisor) ; Svačinová, Tereza (referee)
In 2000, the EU, under the influence of its current progress in the integration process, established a list of fairly ambitious goals in the economic, social and environmental issues, which it had wanted to achieve by 2010. The reform program has been named the Lisbon Strategy and has often been paraphrased as "catch up and overtake the U. S." Shortly after its launch, however, it began to be clear that such radical reform was not realistically possible, especially because of its complexity, a lack of willingness of Member States to implement these reforms and a poor set of implementation tools. The Lisbon Strategy has been followed by a new EU global reform document for 2020, Europe 2020, mainly due to the fact that the problems plaguing European countries remain the same and they haven't been adequately resolved by the Lisbon Strategy. The aim of this paper is to analyze the implementation of the Lisbon strategy in the Czech Republic, identify in which areas the CR has been successful, and in which it has lagged behind the performance of other EU members as well as where it could achieve a more significant progress. At the same time, the work examines the reasons why the Lisbon Strategy, though a very interesting concept of reform, has remained out of public interest, and its achievements haven't...
Initiative EU LEADER as a new approach to the rural development policy and it's contribution to creation of cooperation between different actors of rural development at local level
Pejcharová, Leona ; Perottino, Michel (advisor) ; Svačinová, Tereza (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with a new approach to the rural development in the EU, which is the LEADER initiative. This initiative is significative by involving of local actors to the rural development, elaboration of coherent strategy of development and the bottom-up approach. First part of this thesis deals with the level of exercise of this principle in two concrete member states. I choosed two very different states for my comparaison: Czech republic as a new member state (2004), which has never used LEADER initiative and France as one of six founders of the EC, a country, where the LEADER initiative has been exercised since it's begginings in 1991. I've concluded my analyse of the implementation of this initiative (or sub-measure of LEADER+ type) by finding, that the bottom-up principle is exercited better in France than in the Czech republic. The selection of projects to be financed by LEADER initiative had to be approved directly by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic. The selection in France was done only by local action groups. I've realised a comparative case study of two concrete local action groups LAG Posázaví, o.p.s. (Czech Republic, Středočeský kraj) and LAG Pays d'Albret (France, Aquitane region) in the second part of my thesis. My target was to ratify or disprove a...
Common Agricultural Policy of the EU and the WTO: An impediment to further liberalization of world trade
Černý, Štěpán ; Urban, Luděk (advisor) ; Svačinová, Tereza (referee)
The presented work "Common Agricultural Policy of the EU and the WTO: An impediment to further liberalization of world trade" deals with the EU's role of actor in global trade liberalization, to which the WTO is an institutional tool, with an emphasis on how and whether the experience of building a free European market was reflected in its inception. The area, to which the research was limited, agriculture and its foreign trade ramifications, not only represents a key source of strategic comodities for the physical survival of humanity as a species, but equally an essential factor in economic development of less developed countries of the world and also consume a significant part of the European common budget. Using comparison and confrontation of the WTO's legal-technical framework with the rules and principles of the CAP it notes the apparent inconsistency of the two systems, which is further pronounced in Europe, which played a key role in the creation of the WTO and its predecessor, GATT. The final case studies subject the details of deregulation of trade in certain agricultural commodities deeper analysis, with the aim of ilustration of the hypotheses about apparent inconsistencies between the principles governing the CAP and the rules governing international trade throughout the world. Analysis of...
