Nuns as caretakers? A look into nuns's activities in selected hospitals of the Czechoslovak Republic between 1948 and 1960
Štrofová, Kateřina ; Stehlík, Michal (advisor) ; Michela, Miroslav (referee)
(in english) The subject of this thesis are three female monastic communities and their activities in selected hospitals of socialist Czechoslovakia between the years 1948-1960. The aim is to examine the overall policy of the communist authorities towards sisters in the specific environment of hospitals and the stance of local authorities, i.e. the everyday practise in healthcare. Emphasis is placed on the nuns themselves, their professional relationships with doctors and civil nurses and their actions on the local level. The thesis also analyses church practise in hospitals, interventions of the state-appointed church secretaries and partly even their oversight of activity of the Catholic church in individual districts. Last but not least, large effort was expanded to reconstruct the sisters' own perception of post-1948 persecutions and interventions in medical care, not just in relation to the strategies, which they have chosen to cope with the adverse conditions within their communities, but also their mostly disapproving attitudes towards the interventions of the communist regime against their presence in hospitals.

The language education of noblewomen of those times and the literature they read are mentioned as well. Spiritual life also relates to the idea of a good death, preparation for it, and the second life of Jesuits' patronesses in Jesuit texts. Further, the period ideal of a widow's life is presented in the thesis. The ideal and real status, and the legal and social status of a widow in the society are compared, providing specific examples. Ludmila Benigna, known in the artistic and historical literature as a benefactor, builder, and philanthropist supporting several religious orders, is shown to have followed many intentions of her deceased husband and his family. Study of potential anti-adherence compounds in a lung cell model as a means for the prophylaxis of bacterial infections in cystic fibrosis
Áčová, Andrea ; Hodek, Petr (advisor) ; Nosková, Libuše (referee)
5 Abstract Cystic fibrosis (CF) is an insidious genetic disease with autosomal-recessive inheritance. The impaired function of the CFTR protein, caused by a mutation in the eponymous gene, results in a wide range of symptoms, the most serious being the effect on the respiratory system. The main impact on the respiratory system is the appearance of thick mucus, which contributes to the accumulation of bacterial cells in the patient's lungs. Life-threatening pathogens include Burkholderia cenocepacia (BC) and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (PA). These bacteria produce several virulence factors such as BC2L-A or BC2L-C lectins in BC and PA-IIL in PA. The virulence factors allow bacteria to bind via protein-saccharide interactions to lung cells with altered glycosylation, which is seen in the CF patient. This diploma thesis focuses on the above-mentioned lectin interaction and the inhibitory effect of hen IgY antibodies or trivalent fucosylated glycoclusters on the adherence of BC (strain ST-32, CCM 7291) / PA (strain PAK, ST 1763) to lung epithelial cells of the CuFi-1 (from a CF patient) / NuLi-1 (from a healthy donor). The possible influence of glycoclusters on PA (PA-lux strain) cell viability was studied, but no significant effect was observed. To verify the expression of the BC2L-C lectin, it was necessary to...

Benjamin Košut - the life and work of an evangelical pastor
Sedliský, Filip ; Zdichynec, Jan (advisor) ; Pokorná, Magdaléna (referee)
The work deals with the life and work of the evangelical pastor Benjamin Košut (1822-1898). Košut served at the congregation in Borová, Velenice, but mainly at St. Clement's in Prague. During his service in Prague, he contributed to the periodical Českobratrský hlas, of which he was also responsible editor. At this time, among other things, he took part in a dispute with his opponents, who were inclined towards the neo- Calvinist approach to the reformed faith. Košut was suspended for his views and had to defend himself in disciplinary proceedings. During the proceedings, he was found guilty, but after signing a written undertaking, he was allowed to return to his pastoral activity. Košut is in many ways an interesting personality. He had a thoroughly rationalistic approach to faith, he was not afraid to break certain dogmas. He saw God as a loving fatherly figure who considers people his children, rejecting the completely negative anthropology of orthodox Calvinism. For Košut, Jan Hus was a great inspiration and probably the greatest personality of the Czech reformation, to whom he dedicated many sermons full of admiration. Košut's Christianity was also very patriotic. The work is based to a lesser extent on secondary literature, but also mainly on the analysis of primary sources. It contains an...
Aligning pre-trained models for spoken language translation
Surveying of the selected object - 3D model
Petráněk, Matěj ; Švejda, Jan (referee) ; Bartoněk, Dalibor (advisor)
Diploma thesis is focused on the creation of a georeferenced point cloud and mesh model of the church of St. George in Bořitov and the documentation of the fresco of St. Christopher in the same church. The point clouds and mesh models were created based on a combination of photogrammetric processing and terrestrial laser scanning. The documentation of the fresco of St. Christopher is made in the form of the orthomosaic. The thesis comprehensively describes the creation process, especially in Agisoft Metashape and Cyclone 3DR. It also documents the accuracy achieved and suggests other forms of using the resulting products.
3D model of the Chapel of Saint Barbara
Komoňová, Pavla ; Nosek, Jakub (referee) ; Kalvoda, Petr (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to create two 3D txtured models of the chaple of St. Barbara in Rudice. The models were created from images taken with a CanonEOS 6D MarkII SLR camera and a Xiaomi 10T Pro mobile phone using Agisoft Metashape Professional software. The achieved accuracywas tested using control points and a reference point cloud from laser scanning. The 3D model was published on the website using Sketchfab.

A special part includes a case study of a patient with this condition, where functional changes, mainly in the lower limbs, were affected as a consequence of this condition. At the end of this section is described, an evaluation of the therapy effect. Results: The therapy effect evaluation shows that the goals that were set were partially completed. Especially the soft tissues in the Achilles tendon area were positively affected, their tone was reduced,...
