Escrevivência in Becos da memória de Conceição Evaristo

This bachelor thesis explores the Brazilian writer Conceição Evaristo's literary concept of escrevivência based on her 2006 novel Alleys of Memory and the literature of the periphery. The aim of the investigation is to introduce this new literary concept on which the writer bases her literary work. Through an analysis of the structure, theme and characters of the novel Alleys of Memory, we will discover aspects of the literary concept of escrevivência and why it is important to this writer's work, what she pursues with it and what she uses it for. Through the novel Alleys of Memory, Evaristo also gives us an insight into the place of characters on the margins of Brazilian society. Specifics of grandparent foster care

(in English): The barchelor thesis is focused on the specific aspects of grandparent's foster care. The thesis is divided into teoretical and practical part. In the teoretical part there is a description of foster care in context of substitute family care and social security of foster care. Further is focused only on grandparent foster care, especially on specifics of this type of foster care in comparison with a classic foster care, advantages and disadvantages of this type of care. The practical part, which is realized by a qualitative method, deals with experiences of grandparents, which are compared with experiences of children, now adults, who have undergone foster care of granparent. I will try to map the specifics of grandparent's foster care.

Romany community in Vsetin

The Bachelor Thesis Roma Community of Vsetín is concerned with migration of the Roma from Slovakia to Vsetín after WWII. It is particularly focused on the first two waves of migration. The first wave of Roma migration from Western Slovakia and the City of Košice was spontaneous and its main motivation was to find a stable and paid employment. This migration took place within an extended time span from 1945 until late 1950s. The second immigration wave was more vigorous; Roma families from a settlement near the village of Bystrany, in the district of Spišská Nová Ves, were resettled following the Government decision no. 502/1965. The thesis is concerned with the ideological concept of dispersion and it discusses the reasons of its failure. The thesis also outlines further development of the Roma community in Vsetín. Apart from written sources and the material provided by the District Archive, the author worked withthe methods of oral history. The text is supplemented with testimonies of Roma narrators, which were modified minimally and which provide an insight into their view of the recent past. The effects of coumarins on the cardiovascular system

Charles University in Prague Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology Candidate: Alena Růžičková Supervisor: Dr. Přemysl Mladěnka, Ph.D. Title of Thesis: The effects of coumarins on the cardiovascular system Coumarins constitute a very large category of natural polyphenolic substances, which are composed of a benzene and a α-pyrone ring. Coumarin is the basic compound, called also 1,2-benzopyrone. Cardiovascular diseases are still the major cause of morbidity and mortality in the world. That is the reason why a research aimed at substances which could have positive effect on these diseases is very beneficial. It appears that coumarins seem to be promising medicaments for certain cardiovascular diseases. Besides the well-known anticoagulant effect of warfarin and its related substances have some coumarins antiplatelet, antioxidant, antihypertensive, antiedematogenic, hypolipidaemic and anitarrhythmic effects. Antiplatelet effect of coumarin is mediated by inhibition of cAMP-phosphodiesterase, lowering of intracellular Ca2+ or by inhibition of thromboxane synthesis. Antihypertensive effects are partly linked with antioxidant activity, but also inhibition of cGMP phosphodiesterase, calcium channel blocking and increased production of prostaglandins have probably...
