Resumé A crown and throne for greater splendor and glory of Blessed Virgin Mary Dana Vrabelová Presenting the royal insignia - crown and throne - to images of Virgin Mary of Mercy symbolized the highest form of worship and adoration. My bachelor thesis focuses on coronation ceremonies in Bohemia and Moravia in the 18th Century. Based on the study of modern literature as well as old Latin manuscripts, printings, copperplates at the National Archives in Prague, Moravian Provincial Archives in Brno, Library of the Royal Canonry of Premonstratensians at Strahov in Prague, I describe how the coronation ceremonies originated and looked like, as well as where they took place. I analyze in detail Virgin Mary's coronation insignia of Baroque period from the point of view of arts and crafts. Since the original insignia either does not exist any more or were remodeled, I concentrate on original printings of that period - published on the occasion of coronation festivities. As a result, I identify the original form of coronation insignia - crowns and thrones / altars which did not outlast the centuries. The main contribution is that I have discovered an undisclosed copperplate "Coronation of Virgin Mary of Svata Hora" by A. Birckhart, 1732. I provide a detailed iconographic analysis of this unique masterpiece from the...

Most reference period was the years 1724-1729, when the Countess of Waldstein was truly generous in promoting the arts, when the favorable financial situation help her. Thanks to this situation newly built or restored religious buildings on Waldstein's estates were built. Return to Pure Baroque. The State of the Church of St. Margaret in Jaromerice nad Rokytnou after General Overhall Reconstruction This thesis is focused on the course of the overall reconstruction of the Baroque church of St. Margaret in Jaromerice nad Rokytnou, underlining dicretion of its execution. What matters, are not just the reconstruction works but renovation of the whole image as the interior's one as the exteriors one, which was by its end evaluated by The National Heritage Instituon as pure Baroque. Firstly, for better understanding of the situation and introducing a reader into a relationship with fine Baroque architecture and decoration, a brief history of the town, the church as well as Questenberk's ancestry, who put an effort in the Baroque reconstruction of the church and the Jaromerice's castle as well, is described. In conclusion, one can get known how the church looks like nowadays and who a dean, Fr. Václav Kuchler, who initiated the general reconstruction and thus preserved the church from destruction, was. Consequently, there are some false facts, again and again repeated in previous sources, shown on light. BAROQUE CHURCH ARCHITECT ARTWORK RESTAURATION

Nedbalová, Alice ; Pučalík, Marek (advisor) ; Royt, Jan (referee)
The development of the church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Družec, from its beginning until today My bachelor thesis about "The development of the church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Družec, from its beginning until today", resumes all available articles and literature of this object. The church of Družec was a popular pilgrimage destination, especially in the baroque times. But during the following centuries it has become forgotten. The Madonna of Družec is a gothic sculpture from around 1400 that pilgrims believed could perform miracles. The mobiliary of this church is of mostly baroque. Valuable Rococo images depicting the life of Saint Francis of Paola, by Frantisek Palko, were lost. The other baroque pieces of the mobiliary were renovated in the last fifteen years. The main donator of this church was the noble family of Martinic. Their members have merit in the reconstruction of the church and they financed it. In their barony they continued to build a lot of church objects. Družec Pilgrimage destination Gothic Madonna Baroque z Martinic Počet znaků: 65182
