Religious motivation has only 7 %. The most frequent secondary motivational aspects are cultural-touristic motivation 17,5 %, escape from routine 17,3 %, gaining new experiences 17,1 % and sports motivation 16,9 %. Furthermore, it was found that the motivation for the Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage differs according to gender. The most frequent motivational aspect for both men and women is spiritual motivation, but the second most frequent...
Relationship of personality traits with acute stress response during challenge activity
Přibylová, Anežka ; Psohlavec, Lukáš (advisor) ; Šteffl, Michal (referee)
Title: The relationship between personality traits and acute stress response during challenge activity Objectives: The aim of this study was to assess the influence of personality traits on coping with acute stress in overcoming a high obstacle. Methods: The study involved 27 undergraduate and graduate students from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport (FTVS) at Charles University, with an average age of 23 years. The influence of personality traits on coping with acute stress during walking over a high obstacle was evaluated. Personality traits were assessed using the Big Five Inventory-44 questionnaire. The monitored indicators of acute stress response included heart rate, oxygen consumption, and respiratory rate. The results were processed using the software program Jamovi 2.3.26 solid. To determine the relationship between personality traits and acute stress response, Spearman's correlation coefficient was used. Results: A moderate correlation was found between neuroticism and heart rate (r = 0.53; p = 0.042) and between extraversion and respiratory rate (r = 0.526; p = 0.044) in the female sample. The male sample did not show any significant statistical significance between the individual personality traits and indicators of stress response. Conclusion: In our study, it was found that...

Title: Creation of an adaptation course programme for the Medical Lyceum Aims: The aim of our work is to prepare an adaptation course program based on the literature search of the theoretical part and practical experience of instructors according to the specifics of the class. To get feedback from students on this program and evaluate its success. Methods: Based on the theoretical findings of the research we developed a programme of an adaptation course. The results of the course work and we evaluated the results by means of a questionnaire filled in by the students of the health lyceum (participants of the course). Results: The result is an adaptation course program that uses the knowledge gained and programs from the instructors' practice. The work can be used as a guide on how to create an adaptation course for the adolescent age group. We received mostly positive feedback on the program from student evaluations. Conclusions: According to the theoretical part, we prepared and subsequently implemented the adaptation course. Based on the evaluation of the sub-objectives regarding the pupils' CP on the programmes, we fulfilled them and concluded that we would modify or change two programmes of the implemented course completely. Physiological response to adventure activity
Řezník, Ondřej ; Psohlavec, Lukáš (advisor) ; Baláš, Jiří (referee)
Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of height on the physiological response of the body and walking speed during challenge activity. Methods: The study included 27 subjects, with an average age of 23±2, who were students of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport (FTVS) at Charles University. The participants walked for 4 minutes over a low obstacle and 4 minutes over a high obstacle at their own pace, followed by 4 minutes over a low obstacle at a specified speed. The monitored parameters were heart rate (HR) and speed (V). Results: The average HR during walking over a low obstacle at the specified speed was 100 beats per minute (σ=12.335), and the average speed was 0.272 (σ=0.221). During walking over a high obstacle, the HR was 133 beats per minute (σ=16.125). During walking over a low obstacle at their own pace, the average HR was 111 beats per minute (σ=13.416), and the average speed was 0.706 (σ=0.269). Conclusion: Walking at height reflects the subjectively perceived risk through physiological responses. The height of the obstacle, which induces a subjectively perceived risk, increases the heart rate by 33 %. The walking speed decreased by an average of 0.434 m/s on the high obstacle. Kewords: adventure education, risk, heart rate, stress.
Using gamification in the outdoors

Title: Gamification and its use in nature Aim: The aim of the bachelor thesis is to create a comprehensive overview of gamification and to describe individual gamification elements in nature. Literature review: I have used the method of document analysis in the literature review. Academic texts available on the Web of Science, ResearchGate, Scopus and ScienceDirect platforms and those dealing with the topic have been the sources for the analysis. The gathered information has been systematically organized into a concise survey. Discussion and conclusion: Gamification is an interesting supporting element in many service areas and professions. It applies the fun concept of games to seemingly ordinary activities. The thesis has described gamification elements, which can be used in outdoor education programmes, and discusses positive and negative impacts on an individual. Based on the literature review and my own experience, we believe that the use of gamification in nature has a rather positive impact on human behavior. Title: The Effect of Teambuilding Outdoor Games on Salivary Cortisol Levels Background: The present time is characterized by its great pressure on the psyche of the individual creating a stressful environment along with its negative effects. Stress has become a very important scientific topic worldwide. Physical activities in nature can be an effective way to reduce stress. Objectives: The aim of this master's thesis was to investigate the effect of team building outdoor games on salivary cortisol levels. Methods: The thesis was conducted as an experimental study with a crossover design. 10 participants completed three different experimental conditions - teambuilding outdoor games, indoor games, and passive rest. A saliva sample was collected before and immediately after the activities. The salivary cortisol levels were used as the main dependent variable. Comparative statistical methods and generalized linear regression models were used in the data analysis. Results: Salivary cortisol levels not significantly decreased after both types of games; however, increased significantly after the passive rest (p = 0.017). Generalized linear regression models revealed statistically significant effects of both team-building outdoor games as well as indoor games compared to passive rest. Conclusions:...
