Testing of produkts generated from Meteosat satellite (MSG) images in synoptic praxis
Pokorný, Michal ; Žák, Michal (advisor)
First part of the thesis introduces possibilities of depicting of the data provided by the MSG (Meteosat Second Generation) satellite. Different color combinations (RGB - red, green, blue) description made by the basic channels combination follows. The main part of this thesis is focused on T-re profiles (T - temperature, re - effective cloud particle radius). The analysis of profiles of temperature versus the effective radius of cloud particles shows the vertical distribution of the effective particle size in clouds. The profiles are computed and constructed from the satellite retrieved data and they show graphically the distribution of cloud particles and indirectly represent the severity of the developing storms. Forecasting and predicting dangerous phenomena such as hailstorms or tornados that occur in severe storms is the main objective of the technique. This nowcasting tool was tested in Central Europe and the end of this thesis presents the results of the testing.
Analysis of location-based services and their integration in the field of tourism
Pokorný, Michal ; Smutný, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Čermák, Radim (referee)
This thesis focuses on the analysis of services based on the location of mobile devices and their integration in the field of tourism. The basis of the thesis is the definition of the LBS term, brief description and history of the technology used by these services and an overwiev of the current market of the mobile LBS. The main goal of the thesis is a draft of LBS aplication for use in the field of tourism and to find out what components are the most sought after by the czech customers, based on the destination of their travels. This has been achieved through a self-questionnaire survey and a comparison with studies dealing with this issue. This analysis is also the biggest contribution of this thesis.
ICT support of education in Youth diagnostic centers
Pokorný, Michal ; Brdička, Bořivoj (advisor) ; Leipert, Jiří (referee)
The thesis is focused on an investigation of the benefit evoked by the ICT supported connected instruction between the Child Diagnostic Institute (the DDU) and the tribal school of a pupil, who comes to DDU for a voluntary diagnostic stay (DDP). The aim of this work is to determine an interest in this project among teachers, both from DDU and teachers from primary schools, whose pupils attended the DDU. The method of research is an online survey among teachers from DDU and teachers from schools outside the Diagnostic Institute who have experience with the DDU clients. The results are evaluated separately for teachers from DDU and teachers from other primary schools that have experiences with those pupils.
Textil Integrated Horn Antenna
Jaroš, Ondřej ; Pokorný, Michal (referee) ; Vélim, Jan (advisor)
This diploma thesis describes the corrugated substrate integrated horn antenna designed to surface wave’s excitation in the UWB band groups 3, 4, 5 and 6 (6 – 10 GHz). The antenna is integrated into 3,4 mm thick textile with relative permittivity r = 1,195. The coaxial cable is connected via the SMA connector that is attached to the aluminum bracket. From the microstrip line transition the corrugated substrate integrated waveguide is excited. Two strip lines are placed in front of the aperture for improvement of the impedance matching. The directivity of the antenna is 12 dBi at 8 GHz. At the same frequency, the antenna efficiency is 70%.
Planar and wired Yagi-Uda antennas
Křepela, Pavel ; Pokorný, Michal (referee) ; Mikulášek, Tomáš (advisor)
This work deals with the study of Yagi-Uda antennas, followed by analysis and design of planar antenna with wired reflector. The first part focused on the analysis of the antenna and parameters. Another part of the continuing investigation of the optimum parameters for a given antenna followed by a design in Wi-Fi 5 GHz band. The antenna is simulated in CST Microwave Studio. The final part devoted the results achieved
Multimedia Overview of Synoptic Meteorology
Pokorný, Michal ; Žák, Michal (advisor) ; Bednář, Jan (referee)
This diploma thesis contains an overview of the synoptic meteorology, from the so called Norwegian meteorological school and its interlacing with more modern concepts. It deals with air masses, atmospheric fronts and pressure systems. Further, the overview of latter conceptual models of atmospheric fronts is presented. It shows using of satellite and radar measurements in synoptical praxis, as well. The first chapter introduces formation of air masses and apportionment of air masses. It notices transformation of air masses, too. The second chapter deals with basic clasification of atmospheric fronts. Fronts are shown with help of satelite and radar images. Creation and development of pressure systems follows.
Harvesting of emelctromagnetic energy in 24 GHz band
Rokos, Lukáš ; Pokorný, Michal (referee) ; Raida, Zbyněk (advisor)
The thesis describes basic principles of an electromagnetic energy harvesting and its potential use. To gain the energy, a rectenna (rectifying antenna) is selected. The rectenna consists of a patch antenna, a matching circuit and a rectifier circuit. The thesis describes a design of the patch antenna operating at 24 GHz and its matching to the microstrip line with the characteristic impedance 50 . Then, the circuit for matching the rectified is designed using an open-ended stub. The last part of the thesis describes several types of rectifier circuits to be used potentially. Functionality of the designed rectenna has been verified in ANSYS Designer.
Software Tool for Investment Project Evaluation
Pokorný, Michal ; Staněk, Jan (referee) ; Režňáková, Mária (advisor)
This bachelor thesis engages in design and creation of software tool for supporting decision making in comparison of success between potential investment projects. The tool is capable of evaluating recovery of investment by using The Net present value method and Internal rate of return. The risk exposure is taken into account by the Modified net present value and modeling by Monte Carlo method implemented using Microsoft Visual Basic for Application.
Vertically polarized Yagi antenna with magnetic dipole
Weigel, Filip ; Pokorný, Michal (referee) ; Raida, Zbyněk (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the principles of operation and simulation of planar Yagi antennas with a magnetic dipole. Simulation of electromagnetic field was performed in the simulator CST MICROWAVE STUDIO (CST MWS). The project compares results of simulations of several types of Yagi antennas. These antennas can be used for the communication along the living tissue (on-body communication).
