Celebrity stalking
Kolínská, Viktorie ; Podaná, Zuzana (advisor) ; Krulichová, Eva (referee)
As Meloy (1998: 4) says: "Stalking is an old behavior, but a new crime. Postmodern society which is evolving not only in real environment but also in multimedia cyber-space brings much more instruments and trends where stalking can be realized. I focus my bachelor work on celebrity stalking, a specific type of stalking in which celebrities are the victims. Scholarly research on stalking exists and focuses on domestic violence, working environment, or other kinds of harassment. Celebrity stalking cases, however become public through the media especially from particular cases, mainly those of foreign celebrities, presented as tabloid articles. Because of the lack of formal research on celebrity stalking, I analyze the common forms and connections in celebrity stalking. My research is based on 5 qualitative interviews with celebrities who are victims of stalking. I try to define relationship between respondents and their fans where I am focusing on break point of change from common fan into chaser. Then I show manifestations of celebrity stalking compared with "common stalking". Keywords: Celebrity stalking, stalking, celebrity, media, funs 2

(in English): The aim of this diploma thesis was an integrated analysis of satisfaction for pediatric patients aged 14 - 19 years at the Faculty Hospital Brno, which created a basic pattern of variables for a further investigation of satisfaction of adolescent patients in hospitals and other healthcare facilities. Simultaneously, the work focused on recommendations of how to improve the satisfaction of patients in A & E (accident and emergency) and internal departments. In the Czech Republic there are several different studies that deal with the satisfaction element, which are ordered by medical facilities, so they can improve the satisfaction of their patients, based on the results. Satisfaction surveys of pediatric patients are not yet common, as the international standardisation is still in progress. Investigative study of the published articles on various research was undertaken for the theoretical basis of this study. The results gained from the study can be used as a base in further evaluations of pediatric patients satisfaction in health institutions. The thesis also recommends to the Faculty Hospital Brno how to increase pediatric patients satisfaction in the future. The research of satisfaction of patients in the pediatric department of the Faculty Hospital Brno showed that the dependent...

Cojocaru Zahorková, Vanda ; Sládek, Jan (advisor) ; Podaná, Zuzana (referee)
The bachelor thesis outlines some background context regarding the phenomenon of unaccompanied minors in Czech Republic. Czech Republic belongs to the group of transit countries, through which unaccompanied minors travel to reach their destination country. The consequence is very few asylum applications from minors which Czech Republic receives. Therefore the thesis offers a broader view of migration issue of minors taking into account the European context. The Facility for children of foreign nationals provides care to unaccompanied minors in Czech Republic. This Facility plays a key role in process of integration of minors into the majority society. Thus the thesis as a form of qualitative approach to the issue focuses on the understanding of the function of this Facility and on the role of social and cultural capital of unaccompanied minors in the process of their integration in Czech Republic. Průšová, Barbora ; Buriánek, Jiří (advisor) ; Podaná, Zuzana (referee)
This thesis is focused on analysis of youth delinquency in terms of Per-Olof H. Wikström's Situational Action Theory or rather modelling data relating to this area of research International Self-Report Delinquency Study 3. The main aim of the thesis is to introduce and evaluate this theoretical-empirical model for the explanation of youth delinquency. The work is split into three main parts - theoretical, methodological and empirical. First one consists of the definition of basic concepts and show Wikström' s 'situational action theory applied to the delinquency topic. In methodological part there is a description of ISRD-3 survey, basic indicators of sample and data collection methods used. And then there is an explanation how operationalization of individual explanatory variables in the model was done. Empirical part is dedicated to multidimensional analysis of data and evaluation of this concept. The results demonstrate the success of the analytical model and its application as a default theory in the examination of youth delinquency.
Perception of Inmates by Prison Officers
Imríšková, Romana ; Podaná, Zuzana (advisor) ; Buriánek, Jiří (referee)
Literature about prisons is dealing with issues concerning prison officers very rarely, since attention is usually paid to inmates. Therefore, this work is addressing prison officers and their perception of inmates. By means of semi-standardized interviews, key sources and kinds of information were discovered. These aspects are crucial for prison officers to develop their attitude about inmates with focus on category of guilt. Prison officer's approach and inmate's approach arose as dynamic categories changing according to the certain circumstances, which are described in individual subchapters in more detail, and also according to time. Differences were noticed not only among prisons, but also among positions of uniformed staff (escorts, wardens and guards). Since this issue is overlooked, but essential for gaining awareness, understanding and improving situation in prisons, it is crucial to do more researches on it.
Comparison of Juvenile Delinquency in the Czech Republic and Germany
Mazák, Jaromír ; Podaná, Zuzana (advisor) ; Buriánek, Jiří (referee)
This Master thesis explores delinquency of juvenile Czechs and Germans from seventh to ninth grade based on quantitative data. The data comes from an International Self-Report Delinquency study (ISRD-2), which is anchored primarily in the Social control theory (Hirschi, 1969/2002) and the General theory of crime (Gottfredson, Hirschi, 1990). Therefore, in the first section, attention is paid to these and other selected criminological theories; the other theories are mainly the strain theories and the cultural deviance theories. In the second section, the thesis deals briefly with the socio- cultural differences and similarities between the Czech Republic and Germany. The core of the thesis is the third, analytical section, which presents the findings of statistical analysis. A conclusion is reached that the theories studied are by far less contradictory than what the authors of the social control theory and the general theory of crime claimed them to be. It rather seems that the individual theories are complementary and often lead to the same predictions. Hypotheses are confirmed that some characteristics of the pupils` relation to their school are related to delinquency: Pupils who like going to school are somewhat less delinquent than pupils who do not. Pupils who play truant are substantially...
Legal Consciousness of the Czech Society
Dobiáš, Michal ; Buriánek, Jiří (advisor) ; Podaná, Zuzana (referee)
67 Abstract The purpose of this Bachelor's thesis in sociology is to present the phenomenon of legal consciousness, which is currently quite marginalized in the Czech sociology, and analyse several existing sociological surveys in order to indicate the state of Czech society's legal consciousness. The thesis consists of introduction, three partly interlinked chapters aiming on different aspect of the topic and conclusion. The first chapter introduces the reader into the topic and provides him/her with the theoretical background for the research of legal consciousness. In the first subchapter the number of possible definitions shows the diversity of different authors' points of view on the phenomenon. In the second subchapter the structure of legal consciousness is analysed, particularly the general division to knowledge about law and opinion about law. In the third subchapter the author highlights the importance of legal consciousness as the object of sociological studies, especially by interpreting the interaction between the law and the acts of its recipients and thus the legal efficiency. In the last section some claimed connections between demographics and status of legal consciousness are listed. In the fourth subchapter author divides the relevant literature into three schools - empirical, American...
Violent crime by women
Pešková, Martina ; Podaná, Zuzana (advisor) ; Vinopal, Jiří (referee)
This bachelor thesis examines the perception of violent criminality of women based on quantitative data gathered from an own research, using a questionnaire and the random walk method. The analysis of the data is anchored in theoretical basis and available police and judicial statistics on this topic. The first part is focused on theory, which describes criminality of women and its violent particularities. Special focus is given to latency of womens criminality, the image of women offenders in media, the characteristics of murders commited by women and finally the forms of women criminality in Czech Republic. In the second part I aim to explain some attitudes and perception of this phenomena by respondents that took part in the research. I conclude that lately the image of women criminality by broad public is not as consistant as different theories suggest. At the same time in many aspects it differs from available statistical data and therefore supports combinations of partial theories rather than one main theory. Thus the analysis of data supports statements of low public awareness of violent criminilaty of women, most likely due to lack of available information on this topic. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
