The Activity of Caritas in Archdiocese of Prague between 1989 - 2009

Submitted thesis describes charitable activity in Christianity and its history as well as charitable activity in other religions. Thesis focuses mainly on research and the analysis of Prague archdiocese charitable activity within years 1989 - 2002 of available information. Paper presents findings that result from the analysis of charitable activity within areas of social work, humanitarian aid and above all development co-operation. In diploma thesis, we described various fulfilments of supportive development projects, especially the most conspicuous and the most significant participation in development activity -on project Remote adoption. The significance of this activity between years 1993 - 2009 reflects its results. Submitted paper qualifies results of analysis and determinates further possibilities of given problem`s examination. The basic purpose of thesis is on the basis of gained results, pointed on significant contribution of Prague archdiocese charitable activity not only within Czech Republic, but also in foreign countries. Moreover, the practical importance of thesis is seen as a feedback on complexity, range and variability of Prague archdiocese charitable activity for reader, other institutions as well as for Prague archdiocese itself. The plan of reforming the parish system in the Diocese of Hradec Králové

Title: THE PLAN OF REFORM THE PARISH SYSTEM IN DIOCESE HRADEC KRÁLOVÉ Abstract: The thesis deals with a problematic reform of parishes in Hradec Králové diocese. On historical, geographical and social aspect the thesis introduces into situation which governs in this diocese because it does not contain from a homogenous region but from several regions with different religiosity and state of parishes. Many parishes did not conform with a canon law definition, were not adequate community, suffered with lack of faithful and financial resources, and were long time without their own priest. For that reason has arisen a plan to reform the parish system, which base on gathering of smaller an noviable parishes into root parishes. Unlike Pilsen diocese, where parishes gathering already passed, is gathering in Hradec Králové many year process, which specificity and history the author tries to describe in general matter, as well as describe it in specific example in Jičín vicarage. In conclusion of the thesis are asked questions and found responses after the reform, hopes and possible steps, which will the parishes gathering supplement and strengthen the parish role such as the full-value community. The pastoration of mentally disabled people

THE PASTORATION OF MENTALLY DISABLED PEOPLE The Bachelor's thesis offers a comprehensive look at one of the areas in which the Church is active in pastoration, with a focus on the target group of mentally handicapped people. It characterizes the stance of the Church and its pastoration approach towards the mentally disabled, particularly with regard to categorial pastoration, pastoration in less common situations, and the pastoration of the sick (handicapped), approaches that mutually blend together. The thesis includes a look at the issue of being mentally handicapped, with a breakdown of the most frequent types and a classification of the degrees of the intensity of mental retardation with regard to the possibilities of their education and socialization. Also specified are the areas of pastoration that mainly concern the mentally disabled. The thesis also includes a description of the possibilities of the pastoration of the mentally disabled and a specification of the conditions of this work, in which are also listed the specific requirements placed on the pastorizing person and on the Church community. Research of religious literacy of preschool children in a Christian kindergarten class. Case study

The Diploma thesis "Research on religious literacy of preschool children in a Christian kindergarten class: Case study" consists of two main parts. Its chief aim is to introduce a new term "religious literacy" and identify its main features on children of preschool age. In the first chapter, it is dealt with the term of literacy in general and from the religious point of view. First, the term is defined; its levels, main factors and points of judgment are specified. Further, the particular models for preschool age and the main principles of its effective stimulation and development are drawn up. In the chapter about religious literacy, the stage of faith intuitive - projective is presented, typical for preschool age. It is based on the passages from Catechism of the Catholic Church. The item of the second part is a case study as an empirical research on religious literacy of preschool children in a Christian kindergarten class. The research is directly connected to the theoretical part and its main goal is to get a real picture of the stand of religious-literacy state of preschool children and to analyze given issues. Islam and Christianity about the Women's Issues. Comparative Study

Resume Zuzana Ujhelyiová Islam and the Christianity in regards to women's issues Comparative Study Thesis This study deals with Christianity and Islam in order to introduce this region, taking into account the position of women in the religious system. Goal of the work is to find out what challenges offers Islam to Christianity and what is on the other hand unacceptable. In the introduction, work contemplates human direction to the transcendent in terms of topicality of Islam today. We view the phenomenon of Islam from a historical perspective and from the viewpoint of the Catholic Church. Subsequently, we compare the whole system of both religions. Description of the structures of faith reflecting the concept of God, the holy scriptures, the contents of faith and eschatological orientation. Furthermore, we present a comparison of ethics, community, elements of faith and celebration of holidays. The chapter devoted to mysticism, after the overall comparison, discusses two Muslim mystics and further focuses on the spiritual plane of the two religious systems. After the introduction of rituals associated with the life of a believer in the religion we attend to the position of woman and her role as mother and wife. John Polkinghorne - his contribution to the dialogue of science and theology

ANGLICKÁ ANOTACE JOHN POLKINGHORNE - HIS CONTRIBUTION TO DIALOGUE OF SCIENCE AND THEOLOGY In this thesis we discuss the biography, the career and scientific and theological work of one of the main characters in dialogue of science and theology. We have tried to assign his theories and opinions to certain theological disciplines, although his work is mainly apologetic in its nature. We assess his role in the dialogue and set him in a wider context of other "similar" theologians and Church documents. Finally we formulate an outlook of the future developments of this particular field characterized by use of natural (scientific) theology. Keywords: John C. Expressions of religious feeling at the Catholic Secondary School students This thesis presents the theme of religious feeling at the young people, in this case the Catholic Secondary School students. In the first part the author gives the definition of certain expressions, like: religion, religious feeling (religiosity), sacredness, spirituality, new religiosity. In the second part she briefly outlines expressions of religious feeling at young people of the Czech Republic and the trends of its development in the last ten years. In the third part the author compiles the results of the research made at the Catholic secondary School students. At the end she compares the results of the research with the situation of young people in the Czech republic and the quantity and quality in which the expressions of religious feeling at the Catholic School students are conforming to the cristian faith teaching.

The Process of Introduction of Optional Eucharist Hand-Communion in the Czech Republic

English annotation The implementation process of the Eucharist Hand-Communion alternative in the Czech Republic territory Within development history background of the Eucharist Communion concept the process leading to the Eucharist Hand-Communion in Czech Republic is treated in nineties of the 20th century. Recent practices are supported by the enquiry of the Prague Archdiocese. The study is divided into three main chapters and thereafter into individual subchapters. The first part summarises Eucharist Communion concepts development up to liturgical reform of the Second Vatican Council. There was also deliberated process leading to facilitating episcopal Conferences to supplicate Apostolic See for permission to provide for Eucharist Hand-Communion within their territory. The second part summarises and documents history of the Eucharist Hand- Communion alternative reimposition in the Czech Episcopal Conference territory and analyses at that time proceeding public discussion. The third chapter contents survey results that were done in a form of inquiry method among Prague Archdiocese priests with an aim to find out how this matter was accepted within pastorality after ten years since this alternative was introduced in Czech Republic.
