Acoustic Detection of Speaker Position Using Microphone Array
Pelz, Zdeněk ; Novotný, Ondřej (referee) ; Szőke, Igor (advisor)
This thesis explores problematics of speaker localization using microphone array. Aim of this thesis is implementation of algorithms for speaker localization and experiments with those algorithms. Calculation of TDOA was done using cross-correlation and hyperbolic method was used to calculate position estimation. Finished microphone array is able to locate speaker within certain variance. Results of this thesis allow reader to make assumptions regarding accuracy of localisation using microphone array and ARM kit with limited performance. Precision of position estimation using microphone array reached several decimeters, but this precision is dependent on distance from microphone array.
Mechanical excitation of self sensing SPM probes
Novotný, Ondřej ; Piastek, Jakub (referee) ; Pavera, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the development of the SPM microscope probe holder which is designed for mechanical excitation of the probes. The first part of the thesis focuses on the description of physical theory, such as the principle of atomic force microscopy, the function of piezoceramics and the description of used quartz tunning fork based probes. The second part describes the gradual development and design of the new probe holder. Testing of the designed probe holder and comparison of mechanical and electric excitation is depicted at the end of this work. The designed probe holder was manufactured, the assembly procedure was described, and the drawings of the individual parts were created.
Mobile Applications for Real-Time Noise Removal
Siladi, František ; Skácel, Miroslav (referee) ; Novotný, Ondřej (advisor)
The goal of this bachelor's thesis is to create a mobile application which will remove  the noise from speech in real time. The first chapter describes the theory related to signal processing and described filters for denoising. The following chapter summarizes existing solutions. The third chapter contains my own design and implementation. At the end of this thesis is the evaluation of the application and evaluation from users.
Connexions between village population and the insane asylum in Horní Beřkovice in the years 1968-1989
Novotný, Ondřej ; Randák, Jan (advisor) ; Mücke, Pavel (referee)
Presented Bachelor Thesis Connexions between village population and the insane asylum in Horní Beřkovice in the years 1968-1989 is a contribution to the theme of Czechoslovak psychiatry and its relation to ordinary people during the period of normalization in Czechoslovakia. The aim of my work is to bring people's views closer to the institution, which have evolved and dynamically changed over the years. Based on interviews with narrators, residents of the village and former employees of the asylum that I did during field research, I describe their memories in contrast to the history of the asylum. Thus, the thesis deals with a rather subjective view of the entire history of the period under review and, besides the chronicle records, also brings the views of the respondents to the situation at that time.
The use of GeoGebra in mathematics teaching
NOVOTNÝ, Ondřej
This diploma thesis called The use of GeoGebra programme in mathematics teaching deals with possibilities to share and use materials made in GeoGebra programme. The introduction focus on general using of digital technology in lessons. The next chapter concretizes the dynamic software and the GeoGebra programme. The major part is devoted to forming GeoGebraBook online, its possibilities and their practical examples. The online publication GeoGebra in mathematics with concrete materials is a part of this thesis. The conclusion evaluates the experience acquired from running the GeoGebraBook and Facebook.
Slide adjustment of mechanical press
Novotný, Ondřej ; Pavlík, Jan (referee) ; Omes, Jiří (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the design of a slide adjustment of mechanical press for double-point mechanical press with nominal force 3150 kN. This thesis also includes the design of the kinematic diagram of the slide adjustment, design of the pressure point and drawing documentation. First part of the thesis is focused on the problematic, especially regulation of shut height. Next chapter is about overload protection, which is important for properly and safety working proces. I the second part, there is created kinematic mechanism and design of pressure points which are made in Autodesk Inventor Professional 2017. Last chapter includes valorization of pressure points design. The pressure point with the most advatages is chosen for the final slide adjustment mechanism. For the final mechanism is made a calculation and drawing documentation.
Gentrification in the post-socialist context of Central Europe. Comparative case study - Warsaw and Prague
Novotný, Ondřej ; Kunštát, Miroslav (advisor) ; Kochnowski, Roman (referee)
The thesis deals with the issue of gentrification in the post-socialist context of Central Europe. This phenomenon occurs mainly in the inner city districts, where the local social structure is disturbed through the physical upgrade of the neighborhood (e.g. flats, shops and restaurants) by pushing out the poorer layers of society by the more wealthy ones. In the cities marked by the communist urban planning, the inner city parts were neglected at the expense of peripheral prefab concrete buildings, thus creating great potential for local investment after the fall of the Iron Curtain. The process of gentrification is illustrated in this paper by the comparison of the two city districts Praga-Północ (Warsaw) and Prague 7 (Prague) in the time between 1989 and 2017. As a starting point for comparison, a special case of Prenzlauer Berg district in Berlin is used, where the process has shown significant impact already in the 1990s. In this respect the aim of the thesis is to investigate the links between Warsaw and Prague, also how these cases differ. At the same time, the role of the public sector is studied as a relevant factor influencing gentrification in the post-socialist region of Central Europe. The results of the study showed that analogous processes of gentrification appear in the Praga-Północ and...
Web-Based Demonstration of Linear Filters Design
Pospíšil, Ondřej ; Černocký, Jan (referee) ; Novotný, Ondřej (advisor)
The aim of this work is to create a demonstration application focused on the design of digital filters. In the first chapters we outline the theory of digital filtration and design of digital filters. Then we summarize and evaluate the existing solutions. The following chapters describe the design and implementation of the actual application.
India-U.S. Relations in the Late 1960s and in the First Half of the 1970s
Novotný, Ondřej ; Bečka, Jan (advisor) ; Vidén, Anna Karolina (referee)
This MA thesis titled as - India-U.S. Relations in the Late 1960s and in the First Half of the 1970s - focuses on mutual relations of the U.S. on one side and India on the other. It elaborates various events, which influenced these relations during the late 1960s and in the first half ot the 1970s. The result of this work is the confirmation that the U.S., in its foreign policy strategy, strictly followed the principle of realpolitik. Thanks to that their interests, however, often collided with those of India. Its effort of rapprochment with the PRC, during which Pakistan played an important role as the main communication channel between both countries, was a 'thorn in the side' of India's top officials, including its Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The U.S. foreign policy, which was mainly in hands of the National Security Advisor of President Richard Nixon Henry Kissinger, had to logically prefer an alliance with Pakistan. This, of course, was not welcomed by India because these two Asian countries waged several wars against each other and had strained relations since their birth. Thus, in spite of the fact that India might seem as the best American partner, given its strong democratic principles, the opposite was true. Nixon/Kissinger, in defiance of all obstacles, did not relent and remained firm...
