Stimulation of people with physical and multiple disabilities - using the TheraSuit Method

The thesis entitled "Stimulation of people with physical and multiple disabilities - using the TheraSuit Method" focuses on the using of different stimulation methods in the care of people with physical and multiple disabilities and is aimed in particular mentioned method TheraSuit and its modifications (Klim-Therapy) whose main element is a special support suit. In the Czech Republic, this method has been used for relatively short time. It is a little widespread, especially due to financial demands. The clients have to pay the therapy almost themselves. Therefore, the thesis aims to gather available information about the method using special support suit. Another objective is to obtain a quantitative overview of the research on the awareness and attitudes of adult clients of selected institutions for people with physical and multiple disabilities, their parents of children with physical and multiple disabilities and staff who work with these people, to discuss methods and new methods of stimulation at all. The thesis also focuses on other stimulation methods used in selected institutions providing services to peoples with physical and multiple disabilities.
Person with disability in sibling constellations of twins and triplets

THE ABSTRACT The thesis deals with sibling relationships of twins and triplets when one or more siblings suffer from some health disability or handicap. It outlines the way of life in sibling constellations of twins and triplets. It deals with the topic of a disabled person who has brothers or sisters. It defines family as a pillar of person's life and it focuses on the sibling relationships. The thesis explains the connection between multiple births and the occurrence of disability, and it considers certain aspects of family life, with the main focus on siblings, when one of the siblings suffers from some health limitation. It also describes twins and triplets and their specific features. For example, it shows the development of the identity of each of the siblings, the role of their birth order, the types of relationships that occur in a family with twins and triplets, and the way the siblings may experience the separation from one another. It draws on publications and other sources that deal with sibling constellations and the resulting relationships among the siblings, on the publications on twins and triplets, on children and adults with disability or handicap. Difficulties in Socialization of People with Physical Disabilities The objective of the thesis is to identify the barriers to socialization for adult persons with physical disabilities - barriers that they themselves believe prevent them from their full-valued participation in all areas of the society's life according to their own wishes. More specifically, the author has focused on answering the question whether such persons with physical disabilities proper consider their own lives different from the lives of persons without disabilities, and if so then in what respects. The author also surveys the areas of life that the very persons with disabilities consider problematic, i.e., areas in which they are forced to overcome barriers and in which they encounter barriers. This focus is related to the question whether the society has changed its attitude to the problematic areas specified by persons with disabilities, may such change be towards the positive or the negative side. TITLE: Foster care for temporary period: Process of imparting child to biological family ABSTRACT: This thesis is dedicated to the question of process of returning children from foster care for temporary period to their biological family. Its aim was to spot problems that have occurred within the process and to provide suggestions for their possible solution. Research among a sample of eight families was carried via semistructured interview method. The results were summed up in case studies, while each case was thoroughly analysed. Research questions were answered and the answers were presented collectively for all families. The research uncovered repetitive failures in the process of imparting children from foster care for temporary period to their biological family. The outcome of the research was a recommendation for Ministry of Labour and Social affairs, in whose competence this area of foster care lies. Specialized departments in the prison

The thesis deals with specialized departments instituted in prisons for persons who are in jail execution. It picks up on the bachelor's thesis on compulsory treatment of persons while the imprisonment. Its sub-objective is to introduce the issue of prison system as a whole, apprise of the specific groups of convicted offenders who are currently put into specialized departments. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and empirical. Theoretical part presents the development of the prison system, the philosophy of punishment and highlights the humanization of the Czech prison system. The section, which is dedicated to specialized departments, itemizes the different types of these departments. An example of concrete prison which establishes such department is also always presented. More attention is paid to the Světlá nad Sázavou Prison, to its conception and to its specialized department for mothers with children. The objective of the thesis was to find out what view of Světlá nad Sázavou Prison with its specialized department take the citizens of Světlá nad Sázavou and the neighbouring residents and how the media affects the overall insight into this concernment or what other factors assert.
Realization of safety behaviour in school departments

Diplomová práce na téma Ochranná výchova ve školských zařízeních, je pojata jako komplexní přehled výkonu ochranné výchovy. Přehled je rozdělen do tří částí, které se zabývají vždy konkrétní oblastí. První část je věnována upřesnění základních pojmů, které se v celé práci prolínají. Dále jsou rozdělena jednotlivá opatření podle jejich druhů, a to na výchovná, ochranná a trestní opatření. Druhá část je soustředěna na ochrannou výchovu, rozebranou z různých hledisek. Jedná se o charakteristiku pojmu, uložení a podmínky ochranné výchovy, doba jejího trvání, výkon ochranné výchovy, kombinace s jinými opatřeními, rovněž i upuštění nebo propuštění z ochranné výchovy. Tato část se také zabývá přeměnou ochranné výchovy a ústavní výchovy. Uvádí se její podmínky, rozhodnutí soudu pro mládež, výkon i upuštění od přeměny ústavní výchovy a ochranné výchovy. Ve třetí části je uveden výkon ochranné výchovy ve školských zařízeních, z pohledu účelu a působnosti, poskytování přímého plného zaopatřování nebo výchovného ústavu. Na tuto část navazuje kapitola realizace ochranné výchovy ve výchovném ústavu Klíčov, kde jsou uvedeny, jak základní informace o tomto zařízení, ale rovněž činnosti ústavu nebo charakteristika jednotlivých oddělení. Drop In Addictology Services in Towns

The thesis deals with the specific characteristics of drop-in addictology services in a small town. In the introduction, the author describes the drop-in addictology services existing and their activities. The thesis provides a brief insight into the basic principles of such services and their application in the Czech Republic. The core of the thesis consists of the research carried out among the employees of the civic association o. s. Prevent who work in drop-in addictology services in small towns. Within such research, the method of semi-structured narrative interview was applied. The objective of such research was to identify the specifics of their work in small towns as perceived by the employees proper. The intention was to compare the work carried out in small towns to the work as conducted in larger ones. The results identified are meant to point out the issues and challenges of working in small towns, to illustrate the setup of services in these locations, and to outline other possibilities for the future through the employees' eyes. The author's conclusions may support the employees in similar services to gain better orientation in the situation that they experience. Lost and Found for a Family with a Child in the Final Stage of a Terminal Illness

This thesis describes the life of a family with a dying child. The objective of the thesis is to describe the experience of its members after the diagnosis has been decided, during treatment and after the child's decease. It discusses the phases of going through the disease and death of one's own child for the parents and other close persons and how such a critical event in a family's life changes its values and attitudes. The theoretical part of this thesis deals with experiencing of all stages of the child's disease by their closest persons and with the psychology of the ill child. In this context, it briefly describes the history and idea of care of the incurably ill and the possibility of family support provided by non- governmental organizations. The practical part of the thesis contains the findings of the qualitative research conducted using the phenomenology approach on how the parents supported the child in the terminal stage of their disease, what they went through during this difficult time of life and how they remember that time after certain time has elapsed. Respondents include the parents or closest persons of children aged over one year that deceased as a result of a malignant disease.
