Šujanová, Anna ; Niederlová, Markéta (advisor) ; Mertin, Václav (referee)
This paper focuses on attitudes children hold towards the elderly and the potential effect intergenerational programs might have on them. We present the different forms children's attitudes take and the methodology used for their identification and measurement of their extent. The latter section is dedicated to to the observed changes in attitudes. It describes the mechanisms of change, the different ways attitudes can be modified and specific conditions necessary for these changes to take place. The last part of this study identifies specific intergenerational programs as potential means of changing general attitudes and stereotypes. These programs are categorised in order to point out those, which have especially positive effects on changing children's attitudes towards the elderly. The implications of this study point towards a specific proposal for further research in this field, which involves a specific intergenerational program. The aim of this research extension would be to investigate the effectiveness of the intergenerational program. This would be determined by comparing the change in subjects' attitudes, which would be...
