Czech and foreign film education in connection with art education

The bachelor thesis deals with film education, shows its various concepts and explores film education in connection with art education. The thesis presents and compares different approaches of film education abroad and shows interesting Czech and foreign projects which differ in their methods and directly affect art education. Even though a subject of film education can already be applied as a separate subject in a school curriculum, this bachelor thesis focuses on the relationship and use of film education in the context of art education. Theoretical part of the bachelor thesis is dealing with the position of film education in the curriculum, the thesis explores the connection between film and art education and compares the term of image in film and art fields of study. The bachelor thesis focuses on a large amount of foreign initiatives that deal with film making and animation. Moreover, the thesis compares the situation of film education abroad and in the Czech republic, shows Czech projects that offer courses and workshops of film making. Methodological part introduces a program for students that follows an exhibition of Art Noveau in the Municipal House in Prague and deals with the production of animations. Puppet animation movie as a means of artistic expression in art education

The subject of this thesis is a phenomenon of puppet animation movie. In its theoretical part begins with classical theatre puppet then leading to puppet animation movie itself. Through movies from different directors exemplifies a few possible ways how to create puppet animation movie. The practical part introduces evolving of author's own artistic work which includes original puppet and portfolio which can be used as an instruction for creating similar puppet. The didactical part tries to watch possible perspectives of using puppet animation movie in education.

This dissertation follows the topic of media and visual communication with relations to art. The theoretical part explains the usage and influence of such medias in the past and present, the communication between people and their visual statements, their psychological effects in connection to the manipulation of the picture. The practial part on the other hand, further explains the precise catastrophical events in the news and their overall effect in connection to personal explenations of said catastrophy. The last, Didaktical part, goes into detail on the transformation of catastrophies and possibility of applicating the medial education into the general creative uprbringing. Photo diary

The main topic of this bachelor's thesis is the diary phenomenon, more specifically diary as a form of art or other visual form, such as photography. The purpose of its theoretical part is to briefly describe the general evolution of the traditional diaries and personal journals and subsequently deal with the diary as a specific form of art piece. This part also introduces Czech visual artists who used to work/still work with the diary phenomenon creatively - Vladimír Fuka, Jiří Kolář, Josef Jindřich Šechtl and František Skála. Theoretical part also deals with the new contemporary virtual forms of diaries such as personal websites, blogs and social networking sites, shows some of their specific examples (chosen from unique public social network profiles/accounts as well as from interesting online art projects). and describes generally the brief history of this phenomenon. The practical part of the thesis introduces author's own photographic diary project consisting of everyday photos taken to show personal feelings during her study stay abroad. Camera Obscura as an Unique Tool of Recording Reality. Possibilities of its Application in Contemporary Art Education

Marie Nováčková Bachelor thesis Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Education, Department of Art Education Camera obscura as an Unique Tool of Recording Reality. Possibilities of its Application in Contemporary Art Education. The thesis follows camera obscura as an unique medium for artistic work. Forms of camera obscura are described through the cultural and historical context, focusing on contemporary visual culture and pinhole photography. The pinhole camera is seen as a tool for artistic work, which can be subject to the author, can cooperate with him or can be artistically autonomus. These theoretical findings are reflected in the conception of an educational program connecting learning about the development of photographic images with the individual perception of their stories. A pinhole photography and the related story from the practical part is a comic strip created by using photographies made by pinhole camera, which storyline supported by a drawing. The comic strip is called The Ravens Player and its format is structured as Bach's composition Toccata a fuga in d-moll. It is focused on using and changing both analog and digital photography including photomontage, collage and animation. Theoretical principles discussed in the thesis are then converted to the project for elementary school students. The practical part is also based on the above mentioned theoretical principles. Vilém Flusser's Concept of Information as Aesthetic Experience

On the basis of the selected Vilém Flusser's texts, the main aim of the present thesis is to comprehend the meaning of aesthetic categories in his philosophy. The key to understanding of the essence of Flusser's aesthetic is the concept of the derivation of aesthetic categories from a degree of a habit, expressed in the essay Habit as a true aesthetic criterion. The related problem of the information transmission is the central issue of the chapter Vampyroteuthis Infernalis: His Art, from which the crucial significance of the means of communication in the creative process of expressing and processing the information emerges. This significance is the base for proposition of the upcoming cultural revolution, which is the most comprehensively listed in the essay Into the universe of technical images and in which the aesthetic criteria become universal.
